- My family and I took the free shuttle bus into the city of Progreso from the cruise port and this is how our experience went. It's very interesting. The people were all very nice and not as pushy as in some other places we've traveled to. The city is quite beautiful in its own rustic way. We will definitely come back again and explore more of the city.

We took our drivers licenses, ship card, beach towels and some cash. That’s about all we really needed. It’s less developed than other Mexican ports so many vendors do not take cards. Some take pesos but will gladly take dollars just download the currency conversion app ahead of time so you can make sure you’re paying a correct rate. We hope you have an amazing time there! The weather should for sure be a lot warmer for the beach!
How about for the kids?? Do they get their own ship card since they dont have ids yet?

Yes, the kids get their own cards and do not need additional forms of ID with them when accompanied by parents off shore. So you don’t need to bring their passports or birth certificates with you ashore. 😊

Hi! How are you? I know for sure that they had a lot of handmade jewelry booths in the area right by the bus station in Progreso itself. Pretty sure they had bracelets also. As far as the port side we didn’t go to a whole lot of stores in the port area. They had a lot of stores selling liquor and cover ups and things like that. I’m not sure if they had hand made bracelets there.
