Some extra things: Leviathan's Tail's front counts as back for purposes of meelee damage / accuracy, so meelee will want to be there. SMN can DoT the tail by Baneing them from adds / Gyre Spumes, which becomes a very nice DPS boost. The last dash before a Tidal Wave is always a vertical dash. The dash that goes through the middle is just as wide as the central circle's diameter. The Body Slam safe zone extends a little bit into the circle's diameter, but that's cutting it a bit too close. At high enough health, it is possible to survive the Tidal Wave at 24% of elemental conversion (it'll probably kill people with less than 4.5k EHP). 27% is more bearable, and the 30% you mentioned is the safe value. Less than 24% will result in everyone getting hit with 30k damage. Amusingly, not putting the shield up results in you taking less damage (around 13k IIRC) than if you put it up at low conversion. The Wave Spumes' detonation AoE scales with distance, so if you're too close to them when they detonate on the OT you'll probably die. During the second phase, sometimes Leviathan will do double Tidal Roars before dashes; this might kill people that are not at full health, or have too many stacks of water weakness. Dead bodies will be pushed around by the body slams, so healers need to raise dead people ASAP. People stuck on the raise animation also will be pushed by a body slam, so it might be a good idea to wait until the body slam hits the ship to accept the raise, but you have to take it before you finish sinking and your camera resets. Unlike on Titan, Aetherial Manipulation and Elusive Jump can save you from a swim if you use them just as Leviathan hits the Body Slam on the ship; it'll also prevent you from sliding at all if timed correctly. Using Manipulation too late (after you start sliding) will result in an "out of range" error. Also, Leviathan's head becomes targetable just before he raises to do the body slam, so mages might be able to get some scathes / procs / swiftcasts off while they're sliding. Tempered Will prevents sliding as well, though Holmgang won't help here, and you'll take impact damage if you're close enough to Holmgang the head just before the slam; that is if it works at all as life-saving buffs have a nasty habit of not taking effect immediately. If DPS is high enough, it is possible that the Caster Sahagin might spawn before the second Tidal Wave even goes off. It might be tricky to deal with it, specially since you need to avoid a body slam while damaging / stunlocking it. It might pay to ignore it until after the body slam, but it will start casting the hysterias even at >70% health if ignored for too long. If DPS is low enough, after a set of dashes after the second tidal wave, you might get a spawn of 2 meelee sahagin on the north side. After those meelee sahagin spawn, you have around 5 to 10 seconds to kill Leviathan, or else it will immediately cast a Tidal Wave with no shield to help you.
A little tip for anyone that may struggle with where Levi will slam down to tip over the boat, if you stand in the middle and turn up your volume you can actually hear the direction its jumping up from. I like to stand in the middle at the edge of one of the horizontal sides so I can visually see if it pops up in front, and if it pops up behind I can hear which side and run the opposite direction.
Another bit of helpful info for players still learning the fight is if your tank is having problems stunning the caster add to avoid the hysteria you can use the White Mage ability Fluid Aura or Garuda egi's ability Shockwave to knock it back if desperate. This does interrupt the cast and will cause him to start recasting it immediately so hopefully if you need to do this then it should almost already be dead. Also with using the Garuda ability I would just move her in melee range of the add because with the ability she needs to me in melee range in order to cast it and has a slight delay. So as soon as it spawns move her right next to it so that if it starts casting it you can get one off after the whm does theirs first. Which worked for our group when we didn't have our Paladin on. While stuns can't interrupt the cast, moving it can. You just have to be careful about where you knock it or it could just start to recast it.
This looks like an interesting fight, maybe I'll start playing again. Also, I appreciate that your guides are so concise, along with a nice voice, they're very watchable.
I did this for first time last night in hard mode. I don't know where the easy mode went. But we got it done in one round and being it was also my first time i had no clue about anything. But we got it done. But looking at the video does bring back memories and some things i didn't understand to give clarity to them.
Great video! Thank you for allowing me to live this fight vicariously though this vid. I don't think I will ever get to it. For HEALTH reason, I shall never EVER step foot again in the Titan arena, meaning I will never beat it. I wonder if I am the only one.....
Oh so NOW you're coming back to me? I waited for how long? Over 3 damn expansions and NOW you want me? I have been ignored and shaded out between Titan and Shiva and now it's my time to shine? Go back to E3S and get your TEA BiS, you're not welcome.
i know this comment is 6 years old, but give it a shot! the worst that can happen is you fail in a video game and possibly have a few assholes like you slightly less for being new to the trial.
I don't understand the people commenting on her guides saying that her voice is monotone and unhelpful. If you don't like her guides, don't watch them. Mr. Happy makes guides similar to these with a little more detailed explanations and a more enthusiastic tone. I personally find that MTQ's voice is super calming while learning how to do these chaotic fights, and her guide-style is put more simple to me than Mr. Happy's. Some people might find that his videos help them more efficiently. Everyone is different and absorbs info differently, I'm failing to understand why people come on MTQ's videos just to slam her because of her voice. If you don't like her, don't watch; or better yet, make your own guide.
it is really weird. When I'm watching a guide that I don't like i usually *skip* to the next one to see if that is better. I don't stop and waste my time to comment on how the narrator is boring or annoying or reading. It is a guide, not an opinion piece.
wow. I love your guide's, they are very well made, good job, subscribed. Your voice reminds me of a flight attendant instructing me on how to use the floatation device. :D
+Darnell Haughton the body slam dive, is pretty easy to dodge, though in mayhem with the orbs not getting killed fast enough, it actually tricky. As for the Linear strike, theirs little indication and even less reaction time to it for dodging. As the off tank taking the 4 water orbs that go into the middle, When I try to take them away from the party, I always get caught on the push and get knocked off.
Just curious, why only Extreme guides for all the Primals? Are they good as a catch-all for the other versions, or did you feel they were too easy to bother with?
Lunetax Lune It leaves them about there but it's recommended to not be used if dps have weakened two or more which might pop from aoe. Two Orbs popping at the same time can potentially be lethal but if Healers can handle it than it's not a bad idea
Its hard when you are chasing content but when the content is one month+ old and u have better equips/hp, its way easier. Also, this is called the extreme content, meaning its catered to be hard. There is also normal content so once you get used to that, you can start trying extreme/savage content slowly.
This damn snake keeps pushing me off the platform i can't believe that i have to look up a guide even tho im doing it unsynched at lvl 80 with DRK, im melting his HP but he keeps getting immune to damage every few seconds its driving me nuts
Nice vid and good info on the fight, but you speak way too fast for a tutorial. Consider a few pauses in your speech here and there, otherwise some of the information gets confusing.
Maria D. For me the best way to learn is by trying and dying, a la Dark Souls. Then after I come and check for vids to see any advice to add to my own observations. The info in this vid is very good, but the low volume and flat tone of her voice and the lack breaks in her speech made it difficult to follow.
im new to this game and afraid to df these raids , I come from destiny and that community is horrible when it comes to raids..if you didn't follow the mechanics correctly everyone blamed you and it sucks
Although the guide is helpfull. Depending on who you are, it would help if she paused to allow a few of us to process what she saying. Otherwise you have to pause the video every few increments or watch the guide a couple times to register everything. Anyways, thank you for the guide.
And here I am again 6 years later.
Tomorrow, the farm begins
same!
I am a month late but AYYY

Good looking out fam
This lovely voice has guided me through so many trials and dungeons. Thank you Miss tech.

I love how hard is extremely easy and extreme is way way more complex
I still have nightmares from Ramuh. Doesn't help that the bottom of his beard looks like a ballsack.
This is about to get a nice big view boost :)

thanks for all the great guides you have alot of thanks from me and my FC.
I felt so stupid cause I'm totally lost after watching this guide
lol omg me too... i'm like... i just wanna be a casual fun player and I have to do what now? 😱
This looks like an interesting fight, maybe I'll start playing again. Also, I appreciate that your guides are so concise, along with a nice voice, they're very watchable.

Amazing guide as always
Welcome back
I liked this video. No way would I be able to do this trial without an actual group and voicechat, but I feel like I learned something.
Ah shit, here we go again
Oh so NOW you're coming back to me? I waited for how long? Over 3 damn expansions and NOW you want me? I have been ignored and shaded out between Titan and Shiva and now it's my time to shine? Go back to E3S and get your TEA BiS, you're not welcome.
1:42 ummmm WHAT? Can someone translate that to english for me?
Well.... this scared me in to not wanting to do this :(

LavenderSol mike (mrhappy) is an asshole nobody gives a shit about him

Really appreciate the guide, spent 40min, but the team just kept getting wiped because we didn’t know how to deal with the ult
3:26 - They have a tail wipe. Gotta stay clean.
Lol oh your voice sounds so much younger! I mean I know it’s from 10 years ago, but you sound like a youngin’ haha cool ty as always
wow. I love your guide's, they are very well made, good job, subscribed. Your voice reminds me of a flight attendant instructing me on how to use the floatation device. :D
Me too!
Yay guide
Just wanted to say I love your videos. Are u going to be doing a thorn march ex vid soon?
Great walkthrough tyvm :))
Excellent guide :)
I wiped 56 times with 16 different groups doing this. I just wish people would dodge the fucking dives
+Darnell Haughton the body slam dive, is pretty easy to dodge, though in mayhem with the orbs not getting killed fast enough, it actually tricky.

Ah shit here we go again
well this is gonna be my hardest boss yet
Just curious, why only Extreme guides for all the Primals? Are they good as a catch-all for the other versions, or did you feel they were too easy to bother with?
Sarah White hard mode is pretty much an improved version of the story bosses. Extreme, on the other hand, raises the difficulty by a lot
Name of the song playing please??????????!!!!
its so guuud and chilled!!
This really helped a lot
im going to do unsync , its like Shiva , when most of people dont know what to do , or dps low
Never mind i just finished this video and heard the explanation. Thanks anyway!
She's great, on my server too!
Proly doesn't play with anyone else her static.
What sever u play on
Maybe it's me but this sounds like Aliena from WoW
did you take a breath at all during this guide..phew girl !
Ahh shit Here we go again.
Lb3 can hit all 4 spumes if placed exactly in the middle
And blow up all aoe at the same time.
Not recommended as this gives healers a hard time and some dps WILL wipe from the damage
It does not outright kill them all, brings em low to about 5-10%.
Lunetax Lune It leaves them about there but it's recommended to not be used if dps have weakened two or more which might pop from aoe. Two Orbs popping at the same time can potentially be lethal but if Healers can handle it than it's not a bad idea
I had no clue this game had so many mechanics 😅 it's a bit overwhelming
Its hard when you are chasing content but when the content is one month+ old and u have better equips/hp, its way easier.
Also, this is called the extreme content, meaning its catered to be hard. There is also normal content so once you get used to that, you can start trying extreme/savage content slowly.
“titan of the sea” that didnt give me ptsd at all 🙃
What is this fight??? I almost pogged this.
This damn snake keeps pushing me off the platform i can't believe that i have to look up a guide even tho im doing it unsynched at lvl 80 with DRK, im melting his HP but he keeps getting immune to damage every few seconds its driving me nuts

I luv your voice.
;)
You're amazing
why no leviathan hard mode o.9 i cant get to this yet, its useless to me
I love you
im new to this game and afraid to df these raids , I come from destiny and that community is horrible when it comes to raids..if you didn't follow the mechanics correctly everyone blamed you and it sucks
Too fast explaining
best700 rewind....
Young MizTec sounds so kawaii. Her voice is so little here. :3
Although the guide is helpfull. Depending on who you are, it would help if she paused to allow a few of us to process what she saying. Otherwise you have to pause the video every few increments or watch the guide a couple times to register everything. Anyways, thank you for the guide.
makes me sad people just stopped trying and resorted to guides for mmo raid bosses takes the fun out of it for me
I have to ask you to try to talk a little slower or more clearer cuz someone whit low english will not understand.
Too fast hahahha
talking too fast! :(
lol
tahts the easiest primae, so people should do this at first, then shiva.
It's called pause. I fell asleep thrice watching it :/
Terrible video. She is just straight up reading a guide, not even pacing herself.
and?
Good thing you've posted a better video instead of just shitposting on RUclips, amirite?
Well she doesn't even play the game, does she?
well yes, it's a guide. What did you expect?
doing this unsynced, head & tail get a buff that reduces their dmg taken to zero and its not mentioned in the guide so idk wtf it happens lol
