      Hello. You want to measure the height of your garage door. Based on the height of the door that will the belt length you need. If you have a 7 foot tall door, you need a 7 foot belt. But if you have a 7'6" tall door then you will need an 8 foot tall belt.

    I have a customer with 45dcbr5r 2014 back up battery belt drive chamberlain how do Iknow if it’s a contractor series? The belt is torn up will the 041a5250 replacement work!? Also it is piece by piece rail so assume that’s store bought version 🤔

    • @sosgds
      @sosgds  2 года назад

      Hello Diego! Good question. I believe the motor you are referring to is the Chamberlain B980. I will in fact use the 01A5250 part number for the belt. This belt assembly is part of the 5 piece rail on the Chamberlain retail motors. Therefore this is a retail motor and a contractor motor. Hope this helps.

    Hi, how ya doin? I just moved into a brand new house and something was leaning on one of the door tracks and the garage belt broke? It is a third car garage door but we would like it working. A piece fell off that looks like one of the things you referred to in the video.

    How do you measure the length of the belt you need? We have a really old garage opened by a Chamberlain 8100 model. We no longer have the paper work for it so we don't know the length we need to buy in order to replace the belt. Do you measure the height of the garage door itself? Or do you measure the belt while it's still installed? I think this question is important for a video like this. Maybe an updated version of this video (that includes how to measure the belt needed) would help out?

    • @sosgds
      @sosgds  Год назад +2

      Hello! Thank you for the great feedback. You can measure the height of the door or the height of the opening to get an idea of the length of the rail aka. belt. Of course you also want to confirm if your rail is compatible with the belts that are available now. Based on Chamberlain, this is the original part number for the belt for the model 8100M. 41A3589 Full belt assembly
      You can also find it on Amazon: amzn.to/3yLZaOl

       @sosgds Thank you so much for the reply. It was really hard to look for the right size for our garage. This part in the description on the Amazon link, ....."Also known as: 041A3589-12, 41A3589-12, 41A3589, 41A3589-3...." That's why it was so hard for us to find the right one. The only info that was available to us was the model number 8100 because of how ancient our garage system is, again thank you.

The motor is chamberlain although it says Raynor and it's 3/4 HP. The model no. Is 2585RGD. I need to buy online without making the mistake buying the wrong belt because here where I reside costs $40 to 60 dollars more !. Can you help 😔.

    • @sosgds
      @sosgds  3 года назад +2

      Hello Jim. It's planned obsoletion. They would rather you buy a brand new motor that repair it for less. I break it down this scenario in two ways: Would you rather spend a little money now (repair), and then a lot later (replacement)? Or would you rather spend the right amount of money now and potentially nothing later?

      Chamberlain provided me a free replacement belt. The warranty was for 10 years and my original lasted 12 years. It may have lasted longer if not for the brutal Houston heat. I was prepared to pay $100 for the replacement belt but very happy when the Chamberlain rep offered it for no charge. Thanks for the great video.

      @@sosgds by the way…….i just purchased a whirlpool upper rack adjuster with wheels (dishwasher, $75 at whirpool or dealer). When I googled this part, the aftermarket was unbelievable, seems that many people have this problem. The part was redesigned, made of SS and plastic, included 20 parts, for $18, with Prime, to my door. Many items I’m running into, this is happening. Even the Honda parts I buy at out of state Honda dealers (discounted parts on line), same with Ford, Toyota.
      PS: I refuse to buy reman parts, but a new starter for a 2021 ACURA is $1423, Acura reman is $359, an aftermarket new is between $84 to $423. I have bought an aftermarket starter ($75) for my 2006 Honda Accord, 170,000 miles. It worked for 30,000 miles and then damaged on black ice. This whole job cost $75+ labor $100. The dealer wanted $856 to do it with a new starter.

    If you are totally clueless and would like some step-by-step instructions, this video isn't it. It's meant for people who already know what to do. And the title is *MISLEADING* because the 5 minutes mentioned is how long it takes for him to show the process in ultra hyper speed. It's *NOT* the actual amount of time it'll take you to replace the belt. *edit* For easy to follow step-by-step video watch this guy instead: ruclips.net/video/JizRggjUKdM/видео.html
