Also funnily enough he's at least heard them a bunch of times already in Helluva boss 😅 pretty sure Martha in murder family the elevator announcer and the waiter in ozzie's as well as the poodle in episode 8 are all voiced by jinkx 💕
"The Twist" at the end was literally the popular '60s dance called "The Twist" which the cast were doing in the musical number. Also, the Harbinger child appeared to be alive again.
Haha I know “The Twist” dance but what was the twist in the story: was it Harbinger is still alive? Ruby is connected to a member of the Pantheon or someone the Pantheon fears? The mystery woman who’s been watching them in the last three episodes? :P
@@Omn1Media In a way this was also another 4th wall break. The actress you mentioned appearing as a different background character in every episode of this season so far is named Susan Twist. Ah just got to your added bit about the actress - I’d not spotted her in the Space Babies episode! There’s a thought that she might be his granddaughter given them going out of their way to remind people of Susan!

There's been so much fourth wall breaking these last few episodes... Even before the ending of this episode, the Doctor made the comment "I thought that music was non-diagetic". If the Toymaker's legions are all based in fundamental forms of expression, I wonder if the big One Who Waits is the celestial storyteller or something similar, influencing the story of the show itself this whole time?
Honestly the 4th wall has been since Capaldi, he did a lot of that. Including the big "I'm nothing without an audience." As he looks directly at the camera. He might be aware that his universe might be something others can watch like a show because of the infinite possibilities lol

re: Ruby becoming a bug person in the last episode, immediately after the Doctor fixed it he turned on something on the console that's supposed to prevent the butterfly effect or something, it's just a very quick line before things move on
I mean after the toy maker left there was still some “play” left in the universe to create a second Tardis, I know that the last musics number was probably just a fun bit disconnected from the actual story but I like to think it was the last bit of the maestros power affecting the world just for a final number
I was lucky enough to see Jinkx perform live AGES ago and she has so much charisma natural talent! Seeing her on Doctor Who is such a treat! She’s perfect for the show. A little campy, vaudevillian, and cheeky!
I'm wondering if the "Twist at the End" was the Harbinger. A harbinger by definition is a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another. Maestro disappeared Harbinger once he was done signaling their arrival. With Maestro defeated, here we see the Harbinger once again (whom we thought was no more) during a musical number about a twist at the end. The Harbinger is not gone and could the twist that more of the Pantheon is to be expected OR that he plays a bigger role in it all than we're led to believe.
Currently reigning Queen of All Queens (Drag Race winner who later won the all winners season). Amazing when worlds collide. 😁 Glad to see them being recognized in other spaces!!!
From what i understand of the Toy Maker, He lived outside our universe. So i guess he and Maestro would go from universe to universe playing their games. Once they finished with out universe, they would pop out of it and go into the next one.
Remember, a harbinger is a person who goes ahead and makes known the approach of another, or anything that foreshadows a future event. Given that we're dealing with gods, I'm pretty sure young Henry isn't human, and can be sent/reused wherever he's needed - as Maestro said, he's a prelude...

As you’ve probably heard, the Maestro is played by the Drag Queen Jinkx Monsoon, who is my favorite Drag Queen of many years! I’ve met her many times and she is absolutely incredible. She just finished up playing Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors off Broadway which I went to see her in, and she will be reprising her role in Chicago next month. Theres a theory that either shes playing a version of Susan, or RTD brought her in because of her name to hint that the series Twist is that susan is The One Who Waits, or y'know both
You mention he had a button to reverse it. He didn't. He used regeneration energy to bring the butterfly back to life, thus reversing whatever had happened to Ruby when it died.
I didn’t say the button reversed it, he had to used regeneration energy to do that to fix it and then he goes in and turns that button on which is what protects her in this episode
Hey Omn1👋🏻. The event that change things here happened in the 1930, she’s from 2024. That’s about 90 years. And there was still some music in 63. The changes happened slowly. The butterfly happen millions of years in the past, before human even existed. So, that’s why the change was instantly. Is possible she turn into water species evolve instead of humans.
What if, sometime between either The giggle or The church on Ruby road, and Space babies the Doctor and Ruby have been captured by ‘the Oldest one’ or some other entity from the Pantheon, and put into their own meta universe, their own personal tv series about themselves? That would explain all the 4th wall breaks, and a handy excuse why the Beatles didn’t look exactly like the Beatles. They were just part of a ‘documentary’ or something like that. So their likenesses weren’t required to be spot on. And why one of the later episodes is called ‘ The legend of Ruby Sunday’. So basically all this season is them in their own ‘series’ and at the end that’s when they escape.
The one who waits is called Chris, his name has been in huge letters throughout the episode. Or it just could be coincidence. Something to think about.
My interpretation of the musical number and the Abbey Road crosswalk piano is, much like in "The Giggle," how they were able to split the TARDIS because of some leftover Toymaker reality-bending energy or whatever you want to call it, is the same concept. That was just leftover reality-bending energy from Maestro being used up.
Jinkx Monsoon!! Also, thank you for the info drop on the actress who keeps popping up.. I looked her up, and her actual real life person name, get this, is SUSAN TWIST. I just think thats crazy considering the big reference to Susan in ep 3 and also the whole "there is always a twist in the end..." dance number. Also, "harbinger" as in a forerunner, or a person that announces rhe approach of another. Loved it, but is the harbinger "the one who waits" ?? So many questions!
Susan Twist was Newton's maid, she was in the Christmas Special asking for them to play Gaudete. She also was the crewman and Tea Lady here. I do not think she was in The Giggle.
D DEEP cut eater eggs the genius compsoer? His dad composed from shows in the 70's Doctor Who was one, the gran who was offed by Maestro? Costume Designer for a ton of shows 32 episodes of Dr WHO!
We have to address several people connected to the Doctor who we don’t know about, he has a granddaughter, a daughter and two wives. We know about Riversong but he was married to a British woman too for a time when his memory was locked away, did they have kids? Why does he say he’s the last time lord, the Master is alive, the toymaker just trapped him somewhere and his daughter is out there so is he really the last? Ruby is someone’s child, maybe a child of the pantheon, a child of the legion leader that is coming. What if her grandfather is coming to claim her and he’s the worst of the bunch? The end scenes were shot because it was raining when they were shooting and it wouldn’t stop so they rewrote the scene to involve dancing in the rain with umbrellas. There is a video put out by the show, kind of behind the scenes of this episode. The door to our world has been opened, they are all getting in. Harbinger is Maestro’s child, he can’t be destroyed because he represents the coming of all the others, as long as they are coming Harbinger must be there. The actor playing Maestro is the drag artist Jinkx Monsoon, they are a force of nature, super talented, actor, producer, director, writes, performs on stage and won Rupaul’s drag race one season and then won all stars when they returned to compete. I hope we see this character again, they ate every scene they were in.
I was thinking Dreamlord in season 5 is perfect to comeback in this era, because he was a unknow entity of dream too. He can be easily a ''god'' part of Toymaker legion
Honey, you better get into the power that is JINXK MONSOON, Drag performer, singer, actor and force of nature. She is masterful in this role as the Maestro and many others.
Little bit of speculation, What if the one who waits Could literally be the one who waits all your life, Wjat if 1ww is like death embodied. I feel like interesting plot or villain. Especially someone who cheated death 15+ times
Looking back at butterfly effect on companion (as an alternate skin), that could be a way to redo "The Web Planet" largely with better visual effects and makeup.
The Doctor did actually reunite with Susan in the Big Finish 8th Doctor stories, but it didn't really turn out well. I dunno how canon that stuff is though.
When they landed back in 1963 and the tardis made the funny noise the doctor gave Ruby a blink and you've missed it look. I don't think your clip shows it though
Let's compare Season 7 Episode 2 "The Rings of Ahkaten" A leaf & a song with losses experienced. To present era losses accumulated since then. "Heaven Sent" "Timeless Child" Flux series arc But the Doctor did get back joy of traveling rather than being too serious, mopey or stuck in a school much of the time. The 10th Doctor regrets. The 11th Doctor forgets. Who are then 12, 13, 14 and 15?
I did totally enjoy this episode and Loved the Maestro character and Jinkx's performance. But the Beatles were totally underutilized; Chibnall's greatest thing was that in every historical the historical person was present through practically the whole episode and a very active participant, sometimes more the hero, in solving the problem. Also there's a logical thing I found weird. The Maestro steals music since the 20s, that's when music began to not exist, when one Beatle starts to sing in the canteen everyone is shocked, there should be no music - but they ARE musicians. The one says we do this one album, then it's done. But why would they at all? Why are they still making music in the first place when they don't want to? Imagine the Tardis would have landed in front of a Home Depot, the Doctor and Ruby discovers that the Beatles work as salesmen and they have to convince them that they actually are musicians. In my mind such would make more sense than them not wanting to make music but still making music but just bad.
Music hasn't been taken away entirely, only in places that the Maestro can access. The old woman played next to an open window, so the sound bled outside. The Beatles and Cilla Black played inside insulated studios. As for the usage of the Beatles in the episode, I do kind of agree they should've played more of a role but they at least contributed to solving the issue. It would've been way worse if they were just a cameo.
@@HellfireComms yeah they are a band already signed to record an album inside a studio. So, that can't be like the first time they came together and made music ever. They never ever made music before in a place the Maestro can access?
@@jensrettberg7968 I guess it depends on when and where they did it. As they said, music wasn't all gone by that point but it was pretty much on the verge of dying.
Ncuti and Millie are excellent together once again. I feel a little cheated that they’ve just skipped 6 months. I loved Jinkx as Maestro and this season's Gods of the Universe mystery box. My complaints come from the writing. It feels like we are getting sped through Doctor Who basics with heavy exposition that also feels a little too unrelated to the question being asked. And the song was kind of cringey.
I don't like this episode. It's just is a worse version of the Shakespeare episode. Found Maestro just loud and annoying. The witches from Shakespeare were at least charming in their over the top acting. I was expecting more from the Beatles. No songs and no conversation with them after Maestro was defeated. You're better off watching Shakespeare than this. Didn't like how the doctor seemed scared by Maestro when he's fought something similar in the past. Just disappointing.
I enjoyed this episode better than the previous episode what ruined it for me was that stupid singing and dancing at the end we could had done without that scene if i'm completely honest you can tell it's very disney. I will say maestro was an interesting villain.
Maestro is an instantly iconic villain. I can see them being a character people want back every couple of years.

I do not think she was in The Giggle.
the twist is that the kid is still there hence the maestro will probably be back
Being the Big Finish nut that I am, really hoping the Toymaker's sister makes an appearance or is mentioned....
It’s the incomparable the iconic the legendary the utterly stupid and fabulous - Jinx Monsoon!
Forever Monsoon season ❤
Low key the battle took me back to that scene in hazbin hotel lol
This is a crazy episode. Child of the Toymaker. Ouch ! Fantastic performance though!
D
DEEP cut eater eggs the genius compsoer? His dad composed from shows in the 70's Doctor Who was one, the gran who was offed by Maestro? Costume Designer for a ton of shows 32 episodes of Dr WHO!
I had to turn subtitles for the first 40 seconds because you were going so fast lmaooooooooooooo
I swear he keeps speed running the intros
This was a great episode
The one Who waits. Susan? The Susan Twist
Oh that would be insane!!!
I was thinking Dreamlord in season 5 is perfect to comeback in this era, because he was a unknow entity of dream too. He can be easily a ''god'' part of Toymaker legion
John and Paul saves the day.
Maestro is my favourite character this season.
Honey, you better get into the power that is JINXK MONSOON, Drag performer, singer, actor and force of nature. She is masterful in this role as the Maestro and many others.
What many people don't understand is that the Doctor has a "sonic" screwdriver. Of course this can silence the sound.
Little bit of speculation,
What if the one who waits
Could literally be the one who waits all your life,
Wjat if 1ww is like death embodied.
I feel like interesting plot or villain. Especially someone who cheated death 15+ times
You saying "the doctor cast silence" without realising what you said 💀😅
Jix was amazing. I need her back in other episodes
I have a theory that Ruby is a God of Stories, like the god of games and music
Looking back at butterfly effect on companion (as an alternate skin), that could be a way to redo "The Web Planet" largely with better visual effects and makeup.
The Doctor did actually reunite with Susan in the Big Finish 8th Doctor stories, but it didn't really turn out well. I dunno how canon that stuff is though.
They also reunited briefly during the events of the five doctors.
I love Jinkx so much
Haha my mom was 3 too 😅
Susan twist is going to be huge to the plot.
6 months between each episodes date for them if you check the dates
When they landed back in 1963 and the tardis made the funny noise the doctor gave Ruby a blink and you've missed it look. I don't think your clip shows it though
WHo do you ship doctor with?rose, martha, donna, amy, river, bill or clara or yaz or sarah
Let's compare
Season 7 Episode 2 "The Rings of Ahkaten"
A leaf & a song with losses experienced.
To present era losses accumulated since then.
"Heaven Sent"
"Timeless Child"
Flux series arc
But the Doctor did get back joy of traveling rather than being too serious, mopey or stuck in a school much of the time. The 10th Doctor regrets. The 11th Doctor forgets. Who are then 12, 13, 14 and 15?
9:16 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
The One Who Waits?
Has Amy Pond gone bad?
Surely the real one who waits would be Rory rather than Amy given the multiple millennium that he guarded the Pandorica and waited for Amy.
Susan's been waiting waaaaaay longer
Speaking of old companion titles, the actress Susan Twist being sprinkled throughout reminds me of the idea of the impossible girl.
I wish they skipped Space Babies. This would have been an amazing episode 1
I would love them to bring Susan back too.
Their the trickster too don't forget
Head reveal when?
its was shite. so dissapointed. how many times do they need to insert a bit about pronouns into the episodes
It’s dead.
