Hey everyone, I forgot to mention in the video that Tactile Turn (currently) offers 20% off if you sign up for their email list!
You have wisdom beyond your years? ;)
Could you please take care of your fingers.... or use a glove when filming.
Why must you sell yourself short? Your channel is one of the best sources of mechanical pencil information for serious collectors and users. You aren't "just" an enthusiast. Not anymore! Chest out, Clutch!
I view it more as the zealous pursuit of staying grounded. ;) Thank you for the compliment.
Just a little news announcement:
Twsbi recently resumed production of their Precision mechanical pencils after being out of stock for well over a year. I finally was able to get one in black 😊
Sure are setting the bar high for 2020, can't wait to see what other reviews you have coming. I have a couple of their bolt action pens that I absolutely love. I never picked up one of their pencils because I wasn't sure about the more simplistic bolt action. Will truly makes some works of art. You have excellent taste my friend.
The fact that it comes in copper makes it a definite buy for me,thank you for the great review.
Hey! Great video as always! Very beautiful pen. Need to save some money to add one to my collection! Thank you and Happy New Year!!
Great video as always. Some of us like to hear you hem and haw, by the way. Anyone who doesn’t have a constructive comment didn’t come here for the right reason. Thanks for the heads up that I can get this (as well as with Spoke) in a pen variant. Happy New Year Michael!
I would love one of these ... I think it’s worth every penny of the cost ... the many different options is really cool .. great review
Clutch Situation , excellent! I have several Spoke 4’s and a Spoke 5. I prefer the Spoke 4 with the grippier tip. I’ll have to try the aluminum Tactile Turn. I’ll contact them to see what they have in stock. Thanks again!
First like, then watch! :-) Happy New Year to you!
Now I've watched the video. Thank you for this pencil presentation! This pencil looks great because it has a unique design, and apparently a great manufacturing quality. I guess it also has a high level of usability when it comes to writing and drawing. All in all, this pencil is an attractive writing instrument.
Nice review. Thanks for bringing this pencil to our attention. How is the weighting compared to the Spoke 4? Is it heavier? Is the weight toward the center or tip? Also, which model is the heaviest? I prefer a heavier pencil like the RR 600 with the weight nearer to the tip. Thanks and have a great New Year!
An all-Aluminum Spoke 4 clocks in at about .63 ounces and the Aluminum Tactile Turn is .9 oz. The all-Aluminum Spoke 4 and the Tactile Turn have a pretty even balance across the pencil. If you prefer tip-weighted, getting a Spoke 4 with a Titanium or Stainless Steel grip would definitely make it tip-weighted.
Does Tactile Turn still allow you to get the pen in different colors aside from the main 4? Like the green, red, etc.
Hey clutch situation, the erasers that came with my tactile turn, seem to be identical to the modern fuel 2.0 erasers. (the newer ones).
Doesn't surprise me. Nice observation.
How is the color anodizing consistency? Does the color match pretty closely between the tip section and the knock section of the pencil body (ie... each side of the unscrew split)? I am trying to choose between the black and the green pencil. Curious which might have the better color consistency across the pencil. Wasn’t sure if the green anodize makes the pen body split line more apparent?
Also, does the steel clip seem to make the aluminum pencil “back end heavy” in your hand?
Great video! I am currently enjoying the Modern Fuel Pencil 2.0 in titanium.
I don't notice a difference in anodizing consistency. The balance point seems to be mid to back.
Do you think it's worth it to build pencil myself using schmidt 2006?
Give it a try? It may take a lot of work.
Does the thumbstick on your pencil wiggle a little bit I own one of these pencils too and it bugs me
Little bit. I'm not an engineer or machinist, but it wouldn't surprise me if one of the challenges of metal-on-metal construction is a bit of wobble.
I want you to get 1million subscribers because you are so underrated I’m 10years old and I love your videos but I don’t really get a lot of pencils but I love mechanical pencils And my favorite pencil is the ohto super pro Meca 1500p i love your videos
Thank you! I'm not sure I'd ever want one million subscribers. That's a lot of pressure and I'm doing this for fun. This may surprise you, but most people think they want big fame, but when they actually get it, it comes with costs. Ask your parents/guardians about what they think of "fame!"
The actuation button seems awkward and uncomfortable. Also really don't like those Schmidt mechs. They feel spongy rather than clicky. Note that this mechanism was designed to replace ballpoint pen refills so it certainly has some drawbacks.
modern fuel or tactile turn
Both great. What do YOU like in a pencil?
@@ClutchSituation i dont like one over the other design wise they both look amazing in different ways, i like tip weighted pen like the spoke brass grip. a nice click. nice feel when writing is the most importent for me though
I cannot find this mechanical pencil in japan
It is a US product.
@@ClutchSituation I see
Can i carry it in my pocket safely
I would say so. Conical sleeve.
Bro please do a giveaway of pental Kerry pencil
I don't ever intend to do giveaways. I find it to be a pretty shameless way of courting viewers. You either like what I do or you don't. I shouldn't have to do giveaways just to maintain an audience. If I am ever forced to do that, this is over.
"Top 10" is probably not the best way to class pencils. The best pencil you have will depends on the circumstances.
I have two Rotring 600 and yet, I still use my Tombow Monograph as my EDC pencil just because it have the best rounded features (shake and the eraser) and is cheap enough to not cry if I lose it.
But for sure, if I'm going to do some sketching or long writing, I'm taking out the Rotring!
Ah, but Tommy, "Top Ten" gets traffic....
@@ClutchSituation totally true. Maybe you should make two Top Ten this year, one for best quality and craftmanship (which would include high-end and luxury pencils) and one for best usability and feature set (which would feature the best pencils to use as EDC).
The engineering is impressive but this strikes me as some kind of weird Hipster status symbol. I can't imagine writing with that thing for several hours straight and you wouldn't want it in a heavy work environment where it would get trashed. I just wouldn't pay that much for a pencil.
You do you. That's fine. I promise you that nobody who sees me using it views me as a "hipster." I don't really associate "engineering" with being a "hipster?" What might be an example of something you pay extra for that other people wouldn't pay for?
@@ClutchSituation I think I misread your comment LOL It was early in the morning. I'm not a collector of things although I do enjoy your channel. I just like for things to work & get the job done. Apart from a few books, I don't think I've ever paid out more for something than the average person would. This particular pencil didn't do anything for me and the price, to me, is outrageous.
