I am 100% going to go back in with the staple gun and add a few staples to each stair to ensure it stays in place (and camouflage them with paint again). @@lonefox carpet stair runners are one of the hardest decor choices to pick out especially if you rent because it's an expensive job. I fussed with my choice for a year. First I had to remove the old carpet. Removing all the staples from under the bull nose was back breaking and turned me off about wall papering the risers. Stenciling is nice if your back can take it. I went with stair treads in a print pattern and white painted risers. They come in all sorts of colors, patterns and sizes and prices. And very easy to put down and remove. Paint on steps is a bad idea for renters if you have to remove it when you leave. You have to make sure what ever pattern you pick doesn't make you dizzy walking up and down the stairs.
If it was me, I'd go with a peel and stick decal for the risers with a black stair tread. Or leave the risers white like they are and get a black, creme and gray print for the stair treads. You know, some pattern to match the awesome tiles you just put down.

I ordered the light spa in the 2’6”x3’10” size and then ordered the light spa 2x6 runner the next day. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx9Q9vgRgCHm-96ZJLA4omp5_kb26p6SfX They were in separate orders, shipped separately and they arrived the exact same color. They are definitely green and the color looks exactly as pictured. (I actually thought they would be more blue, based on other reviewers saying the color portrayed in the picture was not what they received) They’re a low pile and not padded at all, so they don’t offer any squish under your feet when you step on them, but they are a nice soft nylon. They’re thin and rubber backed so I imagine they will do great being thrown in the washer. They’re perfect inexpensive rugs for my garage door and back door. Also love that the carpet isn’t looped on these. My last rug was looped and my vacuum caught a strand and It ripped out a whole row, tearing the rug in half! Great rugs for the price!

Later when I owned I got the bull nose carpet treads which they custom make to your size for each step. It cost me, ,$70 a step but I love it. They are super easy to put down. No glue...no nothing. They stay put in high traffic areas but they are an investment piece.
