Omg what a good review. The frequency response review is what we need. Great job DHRME. My take is more expensive TWS/Wireless IEMs are not synonymous with being a better product.
I own B&O EQ and recently got the B&O EX, To anyone wondering, the EQ has a warmer more approachable sound signature out of the box, but it cannot get the resolution of the EX even after tweaking. I usually wear these on those longer working sessions t nigh or evening when I’m not really focusing on music itself that much. The EX is a clear upgrade with better instrument separation, you can pick up details in track you might have missed on other earbuds. I personally move the beosonic ring just towards more bass, which meets Harman Target more and call it a day. But they are good enough for critical listening in a quiet environment. If you are torn and just want great sounding and great looking buds, I’d get the EQ (mines beautiful deep blue ) for half the price of the EX. But be aware that they suffer from wind noise. But their case is even more pocketable and better built I believe.
@@alexbubu9694 not really, sometimes the signal can be dropping in and out for a few seconds, but I’ve noticed that it’s usually when they try to connect to your other devices. I’m super happy with both in general, only the anc is mediocre.

Very good review! The problem with Svanar is that it does not come with an apps where we can tweak the sound profile. For a USD500 TWS IEM, this is a deal breaker for me. I almost bought it haha.
Beoplay EX...I found that normal mode (no ANC, no transparency) works best in windy conditions. I don't like transparency mode much at all unfortunately. ANC mode has too much bodily noise. I can hear myself breathing and it's disturbing.
On the bright side, maybe it’s a way to remind yourself to be thankful for the fact that you are still breathing so it’s kind of an ANC and mindfulness mode in one.
had Hifiman , However ,the Noble Prestige audio wins my ear because it doesn't has ANC which mess up with any neutral pure sound & delivery the most audiophile experience,IEM like .And it may not be best in ANC or transparency.I want my sound with no eq needed & immersive sound without any noise or digital processed

The svanar has the option to use just the ldav without anc, and still it does not sound better than the prestige ? I would have thought ldav and the r2r dac would make the difference.
Was waiting for this comparison! The only other buds that I have been thinking about was the Noble Fokus Mystique with its mind washing bass. I’m just hoping B&O will release an updated version of the EXs fixing the anc & transparency
Don't bother with Noble Audio dude. I tried the fokus pro and the fokus h anc and both were some of the worst sounding earbuds I've ever heard. For comparison, my soundcore A20i (a 30 dollar pair) blow the fokus pro out of the water in terms of Soundstage and natural timbre as well as dynamics, maybe just not immersiveness. Was very severely disappointed with them.
Awesome video as usual guys. Did you see that they stealth released the Svanar LE for $200 less? No LDAC, no wireless charge, and no carbon fiber are the only trade offs. At $300, there is absolutely no competition
@@DHRME I don't really think LDAC is as much of a selling point as it might appear at first glance, as very many people using $500 TWS earbuds are using iPhones anyways, which will likely never support any proper HighRes Bluetooth codecs (sadly).
@@TechEtrix ldac was the selling point for me. Even on a Samsung phone with a buggy ldac implementation. Before buying I tried both svanar and svanar le, with and without ldac. Difference is very noticeable.
Good review guys. One note though on LDAC. I can't be sure, but it wouldn't be surprising that the battery life with LDAC would be notably less than aptX adaptive, which is a high efficiency codec.

what earbuds let you mute from the bud? I've not seen any at all that do this, I've seen some that cut off music when you turn take it out of your ears but muting from the bud? I dont even think that should be a want on a bud lol
Great review guys! The svanar is so chonky. Although I do like the carbon fiber inner side. 😄 Also as someone who is biased towards wired audio and reviews those. I would probably lean towards the R/2R dac svanar. But I do completely get as to why most people and by that I mean 99% would be leaning towards the B&O.
On the Beoplay EX, what did you mean when you said you could not enable any EQ while in ANC mode? I am able to adjust the EQ on mine while in ANC mode.
I've had the EX for a year, and it’s been the worst experience in crowded places. I constantly have to reconnect, and the mic is completely unusable unless I'm in an extremely quiet environment-forget about using it outdoors. The ANC barely works, and the transparency mode is almost useless. The only thing these earbuds have going for them is the sound quality, which is only slightly better than my 50-euro JBLs. In total, I've spent about 3k on audio products because I love Bang & Olufsen's sound signature, but honestly, you'd be better off spending your money elsewhere.

Thank you! I've always wondered about expensive earbuds. I've originally written them off, and not just because they are prohibitively expensive, but because of the battery issue you note. I'm a very heavy user and have found that after a year the batteries are now lasting ⅔ to ½ what they used to. So the cost is an even bigger concern given this issue. When this happened to 2 of my _Liberty 3 Pros_ Soundcore replaced them for free. But I'm not sure they'll keep doing that. That said, I'll definitely give it another try, especially since it has now happened to both replacements and also to my _Space A40's_ now too. I recently tried _Soundpeats Engine4_ and _Mini Pro HS._ Considerably less expensive than my usual _Liberty 3 Pros._ And if there will constantly be a battery life loss issue, I need to consider the cost of replacing them. *EDIT:* Incidentally, I am blown away by the Soundpeats. I'm still within my first few days, but they sound great. Certainly comparable to buds 2-3 times the cost IMO. Think you both and _be well!_ 🙋🏼♂️

But that was prior to a back to back comparison. The *Liberty 3 Pros* are still the best of the three. That said, I still love the sound of the *SoundPeats* for their clarity and their extra bass. So, the Hifiman earbuds look exceptionally stupid and are too large. And the case is enoromous. And the touch controls are awful. And the battery life is awful. And it has NO APP. Who would buy this junk?
Hey, for example I don't care for an app for earphones. I buy earphones for sound at first place. I have a couple earphones that have apps and I don't use the apps ever.. They look stupid in your opinion, for me as I am used to in ears for years and have seen crazier designs and used custom moulded fit in ears too, they don't really look exceptionally stupid in my opinion. To answer your question, people who spend thousands of $ on speakers, amps, players and so on will buy these earphones mostly, it's very obviously aimed for the audiophiles as there's not many options really. Most of the TWS earbuds/earphones on the market today offer consumer grade sound profiles. Bassy, dynamic, "fun". There's not many options for clean, balanced and analytic listening with TWS.
@@nAcolz I'm sure you can like them but these will be a failure regardless. And there are several TWS earphones with pretty solid neutral sound signatures. And if they aren't as neutral as one may like, an app with even a rudimentary EQ can often help. I have thousands in HEDD, Eve, and Genelec studio monitors - well over $15K in total audio gear. But even us audiophiles still have different expectations for different use cases. Audiophiles don't use the same reasoning and prioritization when selecting wireless earbuds in the same way we select headphones or speakers that are primarily used at home. As for the frequency response, the Hifiman didn't even have a much better frequency response.
Aptx adaptive is limited codec to android phones? Why are you liying man? The brands like xiaomi, oppo , realme, oneplus, motorola , sony, asus does support this codec so just the samsung doesnt because their marketing strategy with his devices and with their own codec ssc 😑.. And also note the ldac is very unstable codek in traffic or when moving somewhere outside

What really blows my mind it's that HifiMan really thought they could get away with selling insanely priced TWS without a bloody app. That a huge WTF moment. What do you need the app for exactly? You can switch ANC or transparency on the earbuds and anyone who buys these will already use a standalone EQ app or a standalone player(not a phone).

That is extremely likely, yes. LDAC has 3 bit rates though, so that could help.

I’ve owned the B&O EX but sold them because the Svanar are way better heavier to the ears but sound quality is unmatched.

@@DHRME I just checked to make sure and the app EQ works on all mode configurations. I've noticed that the app lags sometimes. Give it another try.

'Lying' is a strong word don't you think? Samsung sells 20% of phones worldwide.
Samsung A53 have Aptx adaptive, ldac, aac, sbc and SSC
You don't want to use other codec other than SSC which is basically high bitrate audio
