Omg what a good review. The frequency response review is what we need. Great job DHRME. My take is more expensive TWS/Wireless IEMs are not synonymous with being a better product.

I own B&O EQ and recently got the B&O EX,
To anyone wondering, the EQ has a warmer more approachable sound signature out of the box, but it cannot get the resolution of the EX even after tweaking. I usually wear these on those longer working sessions t nigh or evening when I’m not really focusing on music itself that much.
The EX is a clear upgrade with better instrument separation, you can pick up details in track you might have missed on other earbuds. I personally move the beosonic ring just towards more bass, which meets Harman Target more and call it a day. But they are good enough for critical listening in a quiet environment. If you are torn and just want great sounding and great looking buds, I’d get the EQ (mines beautiful deep blue ) for half the price of the EX. But be aware that they suffer from wind noise. But their case is even more pocketable and better built I believe.

I've had the EX for a year, and it’s been the worst experience in crowded places. I constantly have to reconnect, and the mic is completely unusable unless I'm in an extremely quiet environment-forget about using it outdoors. The ANC barely works, and the transparency mode is almost useless. The only thing these earbuds have going for them is the sound quality, which is only slightly better than my 50-euro JBLs. In total, I've spent about 3k on audio products because I love Bang & Olufsen's sound signature, but honestly, you'd be better off spending your money elsewhere.

Thank you! I've always wondered about expensive earbuds. I've originally written them off, and not just because they are prohibitively expensive, but because of the battery issue you note.
I'm a very heavy user and have found that after a year the batteries are now lasting ⅔ to ½ what they used to. So the cost is an even bigger concern given this issue.
When this happened to 2 of my _Liberty 3 Pros_ Soundcore replaced them for free. But I'm not sure they'll keep doing that. That said, I'll definitely give it another try, especially since it has now happened to both replacements and also to my _Space A40's_ now too.
I recently tried _Soundpeats Engine4_ and _Mini Pro HS._ Considerably less expensive than my usual _Liberty 3 Pros._ And if there will constantly be a battery life loss issue, I need to consider the cost of replacing them.
*EDIT:* Incidentally, I am blown away by the Soundpeats. I'm still within my first few days, but they sound great. Certainly comparable to buds 2-3 times the cost IMO.

As for comparing them to the *Liberty 3 Pro,* (one of my absolute favorite earbuds), again, I'd have said they were almost the same. But that was prior to a back to back comparison. The *Liberty 3 Pros* are still the best of the three.
That said, I still love the sound of the *SoundPeats* for their clarity and their extra bass. It can make a big difference at times (depending on what you are listening to, I suppose).
      I hope this helps.
      ··•●✺●•··
¹ ─ I should note, I almost returned the *Engine4's* because they do not sit in my ears securely. I still may return them (I have a few days). I'm only hesitating because they have such exceptional battery life. 🔋

They look stupid in your opinion, for me as I am used to in ears for years and have seen crazier designs and used custom moulded fit in ears too, they don't really look exceptionally stupid in my opinion.
To answer your question, people who spend thousands of $ on speakers, amps, players and so on will buy these earphones mostly, it's very obviously aimed for the audiophiles as there's not many options really. Most of the TWS earbuds/earphones on the market today offer consumer grade sound profiles. Bassy, dynamic, "fun". There's not many options for clean, balanced and analytic listening with TWS.

And if they aren't as neutral as one may like, an app with even a rudimentary EQ can often help. I have thousands in HEDD, Eve, and Genelec studio monitors - well over $15K in total audio gear. But even us audiophiles still have different expectations for different use cases. Audiophiles don't use the same reasoning and prioritization when selecting wireless earbuds in the same way we select headphones or speakers that are primarily used at home. As for the frequency response, the Hifiman didn't even have a much better frequency response.
