I've got a mk. 3 Leon and do all my own maintenance. The oil filter location is a pain in the you know what 😖.

A used Pringles tube, with end cut open, makes good drain and less mess when you remove filter drain plug. 😊

Just thought I should add that it is irrelevant what make of oil you use as long as it meets the correct VW specification. VW 507.00 do not use any alternative oil. It will be a 5w-30 multigrade viscosity by default with this specification. This specification replaces the original VW 501.01 for the old type VW pump diesels which must not be used in the later VW common rail diesels. VW 507.00 is also used in the more powerful 4-cylinder common rail diesels from the VW group including the SKODA Octavia VRS Diesel. Hope this helps viewers.

Hello there, newby here as skoda octavia vRS 2.0L TDI auto 2015 model. I'd like to know if how many liter of oil to be put in there and is it necessary to change fuel filter as well together with oil filter?

Hello! Yes, changing the fuel filter together with oil filter will extend your engine life. You can put 4.7-4.8 liters of oil. You can check the oil level to see exactly.

Missed the most important step, drain the oil from the 13mm socket plug it's a much cleaner and less messy job, but good camera work.

Missed an even more important step!! Running the engine to heat the oil! Probably why he only got 4.5l. My SEAT FR 2.0L takes 7 litres of oil

You can, just with more struggle - I did mine from the ground with jack stands

It depends how "slim" you are and how much you lift the car, if you don't lift the car I'd say it's impossible but if you lift it a bit you can
