Something interesting about that: Dreadnought when it's ready to fire, the missiles were armed. If it's on idle, it's missile still unarmed. And when it comes to a desolators radiation, the dreadnought with armed missiles would sunk first than the idle one due to the radiation exploding the missiles.
Actually, it's not technically the radiation killing the ships. It's the missiles they're trying to launch blowing up in their faces repeatedly and quickly
In older (pre-YR) versions of RA2, there was a funny trick. Deployed desolator could be forced (ctrl+click) to attack the ground. Then he was still irradiating the ground, but with firerate of his regular attack. After 5-10 mins of such irradiation, land will become poisoned forever. After more than 1 hr after the desolator was killed, it was still instakilling infantry and light vehicles.

But it seems that you forgot to include aircraft carriers, rocketeers, Kirov airships, Harriers, Yuri space saucer and V3 rockets (results should be similar to that of dreadnoughts, but the launcher truck gets rekt very soon). Anything that is briefly on the ground before taking off. Hornets get destroyed after taking off and landing in high radiation, within a few sorties. BTW desolators also make suicide bomb IFVs like the ones made with crazy Ivans, but more expensive. What about battle fortresses? A comment mentioned flak track desolators, that'd be nasty too

To the last Clip, you can also DMG submarines, Dolphins and octas with this radiation field. Set a desolator Close to a teslacoil or an Prisma Tower and you get some sub-serface farming
I love Desolators when I was kid I used to make lots of them and scatter around the map usually on the gold ore places and routes enemy units used until I had enough to command all them on the surrounding area of enemy base to make this radioactive ring of death around it only British snipers we're able to defeat them but I solved that problem quickly by scattering few Yuris and placed those snipers to be on lookout on new upcoming enemy snipers from their barracks
I think there was a bug in original RA2 where you could tell a deployed Desolator attack the ground near them. That would apply their radiation aura multiple times, so even one desolator would create a long-lived area of death even for tanks.
I do remember for a long time before the patch but deploy a desolator and then force attack the ground a ton of times ans basically outside of air units could attack apocalypse tanks would die
desolators in ra2 are some of the most overpowered units out there, with only a few of them none of the special infantries like tanya or boris can do anything to you. in ra3 the desolators are basically useless

Well at least the worst Unit in game, slave were using shovel as their weapon when we're liberating them, and slave weapon was considered as melee attack same like Yuri Brute It was fun for me for harassing Yuri economy by killing those slave with weapon have area of attack

So got Desolator with Prism light when you deploy them, Then Soviet got Medium Tank from Classic RA, Allied got Buggy .. both vechiles could travel on water 🤣 And Soviet got AFHQ with Cargo Plane carries 10 Harrier cruise missile But unfortunately I can't find any Buggy or Medium VXL for RA2

But you should get close. Peninsulas are critical locations to put the desolators

I always loved sending a bunch of desolators within a flak track into a mass of mirage tanks then deploying them to take out all of the mirage tanks.
