Should’ve kept in. “This is our fucking city”
I know right
Fun fact about the Red Sox championship... While it was their third championship since breaking the curse of the Bambino, it was the first time they had clinched a world series victory in front of the home fans for the first time in 95 years. Imagine being there for that history! Also, David Ortiz was gifted his own championship ring for being the World Series MVP. To my knowledge, that's the first and only World Series MVP ring that exists.
Makes sense. I don’t ever hear about someone going as nuclear as he did on the biggest stage.
This was the first year I got into baseball and this video brings back so many memories.
In 2010, Freddie Freeman, Jason Heyward, and Craig Kimbrel all debuted for ATL, crazy.
The 1st Ever World Series I Remember Watching What A Season 2013 Was
A crazy one to be your first!
Well in 2013 the redsox deserved to win the World Series cause it happen the same year as the Boston marathon bombing
2013 was the first year I started watching baseball. As a Tigers fan, this brought back both amazing and horrific moments.
Jose Fernandez was gonna be a Hall of Famer 😢
He was so good. Gone way too soon
I never really looked into Jose's numbers. I'm finding out now that was a mistake. Dude was pretty good.
Yeah, it's sad thinking what Jose Fernandez could have been. Also have to wonder where the Marlins would be now if Jose Fernandez was still alive. He was going to be their franchise player. Maybe the Marlins would've found a way to hold on to either Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, or Marcell Ozuna
He had the talent but chances are higher that his career would've been plagued by injuries like many other modern pitchers and he'd never get close to HoF.
@@unkledoda420hating literally for no reason
I must admit, I had a bit of a lapse in following baseball around this time, and while this video shows nothing insane or out of the ordinary to me, this was a really well-edited and put together video. It puts a missing puzzle piece into my head as a big baseball fan and I will take this with me and watch it again.
Dude, maybe unintentional but genius bit of editing you did in the royals section as the broadcast shows a stat box on Jeff Francoeur. Now I’ll never forget he was on that team
Rip Jose Fernandez
RIP
Im so glad youtube recommended you early, cant wait to see you blow up one of these days you got a great commentary style. And go twins!
This was my first time seeing your videos in my recommended. This was a great watch you earned a subscriber!
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed!
Great video, my man this is my introduction to your channel! as a Red Sox fan the 2013 season is probably my favorite of all time. What a beautiful World Series.
Thanks for posting this. 🙂Nice work. 2013 in Major League Baseball was memorable for a lot of the highlights mentioned, but it definitely was the 'Boston Strong' Red Sox that were THE story of 2013. After finishing last in 2012 the Sawx quietly revamped their lineup & yet still, not much outside the clubhouse was expected of them. Yet they rose back to the top of the division, it can be said that the events following April 15th of that year truly galvanized both the ballclub & the city of Boston. They rallied following the harrowing events of that week in mid-April( the Boston Bruins in the NHL did their part as well with an exciting playoff run before falling to the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Final ), but it was the Red Sox, that whole season, that helped lift the spirits of the folks in Boston. It was a turnaround year for both the organization and the city following the Marathon Bombing tragedy. And they capped it all off by winning the World Series at home, at Fenway Park, for the 1st time since way back in 1918. And days later, during the parade in downtown Boston, they actually stopped the parade at the very site were the bombings occurred for a Moment of Silence for the victims of the bombing tragedy, before resuming the parade. It was quite the scene for sure. It perfectly capped off the year in which the city of Boston was wounded by tragedy, before the Red Sox helped the city bask once again in triumph with their championship season. #BostonStrong
Did any Yankees fans showed up in the 2013 redsox parade
I’m glad you included Pujols’s Jersey tug on Bartolo 😂
that weird sound from 4:55-5:00 made me think the tornado sirens were going off
I'd say 2001 was a Crazier Year. Ichiro won AL ROY and MVP. Pujols wins NL ROY and was 3rd in MVP. That will never happen again. Both are Hall of Famers.
That’s true but 2013 was wild for more reasons than on the field. It felt like a turning point to so many guys retired around then
2016 was pretty crazy as well! Especially in the playoffs and I think a lot of people over look the playoffs that year as as a whole due to the Cubs winning the world series and I’m a cubs fan admitting that but in the end, I felt amazed watching baseball that year and I’m not sure I’ll ever see a season like 2016 again
Man you should have way more subscribers than you actually do! The 2013 Red Sox were an amazing comeback story and the reason I’m a Sox fan.
Keep up the great work!
Loved the video 🔥I hope you do videos for some of the other 2010’s seasons
It's wild some of these players are still active to this day
Man as a jays fan, 2013 was definitely a crazy year. Very disappointing for us lol. We had legit everyone underperform. Of course we had Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle and RA Dickey, but also Josh Johnson, JP Arencibia, Brandon Morrow, Melky Cabrera to name a few more were all so disappointing. They were all supposed to be superstars or at least broken out, but they were either injured or flat out sucked. Jays were favorites to win the division, and came 5th.
On paper that team was stacked i'm glad the main core at least got a pretty successful and exciting playoff run a few years later
I'm a Jays fan too, and turns out the previous offseason was more compelling than the Jays' 2013 season actually turned out to be. They got off to a brutal start, they teased us briefly by winning 11 straight, then came crashing back down soon as that win streak ended. It was an awful season for the Jays, and to add insult to injury, the Red Sox clinched the AL East against the Jays at Fenway, & it was their former manager John Farrell enjoying great success with the Red Sox( with whom he previously served as their pitching coach a few seasons prior )at the expense of the team he'd left following 2012 to take the managerial position in Boston to return to the Red Sox. 2013 was a memorable season for baseball, but for the Blue Jays that year, it was a major letdown. We'd have to wait a couple more seasons until the Jays finally delivered a winning ballclub again on the field.
As a Pirates fan, that year, 2014, & 2015 were fun even tho all of them ended badly but that’d be the only time the Pirates would ever be good in my life (22 years)
Alos the first year of interleague play during the entire season. My favorite team of course are the dodgers and Yasiel Ouig had a great rookie season. I wish that he was still a dodger.
7:59 Rangers Scouting Director “Kip Fagg” 🤣
2001 was was easily the craziest in my lifetime.
I love this vid and think this should b a series
We so need a Carlos Gomez pimp job animation in 2024!!! Come on SDS!!!!
As a Twins fan, 2011-2018 were some dark years. At least 2015 and 2017 were pretty fun during that stretch?
Prime Brian Dozier 🥲
this would be a cool series to see for every season!
Gomer a twins fan? Hell yeah
I was there at game 3. I was screaming with others that it would be called obstruction, and it was. Looking back, I have no clue why Jarrod S. threw to 3rd. Only reason the cardinals won any games was because of his errors
I remember watching the game with my dad and screaming about it. He’s a massive Red Sox fan, but never understood, “the fuss” about screaming over sports, so he just kinda sat there and was like, “yeah, that was the right call. Gotta win the next couple”.
@@hauntedhaunter6148 it was the atmosphere probably.
Mo vs Miggy was iconic
I still can’t believe how loaded those marlins teams were with talent and they just trade everyone away
I was born in 2006 so the 2010s is when I got into baseball and it was elite
Nope it was the 90s and 2000s when baseball was elite
12:38 Not to Mention, they also lost Gaby Sanchez, which means, they lost Anibal, Infante, Nolasco, Reyes, Buerhle, Johnson, Ramirez, Bonifacio, AND Gaby Sanchez.
As a pirates fan that season was so iconic even to this day. If we beat St. Louis in game 5 of the NLDS I think we legitimately could have at least made it to the World Series that year cause I definitely think we were better than the dodgers that year! 2013 in my opinion was our best shot at winning it all even more so than 2014-15 and we came up short.
That team was great I remember cheering them on to win the NL that year
But then the redsox still would’ve beat them
2013 Was the Year of Jose Fernandez, could’ve won the Cy Young award in 2016, but his death ruined his chances. R.I.P Jose
gone too soon
I can assure you that I did not tear up watching Jeter come out and pull Mariano from the game.
let’s go baby !!!
As a jays fan in 2013, that team looked awesome at the time but it was such a super disappointment
Amazingg videoooo
No mention of Adrian Gonzales on the 2013 Padres? He was one of the best hitters in baseball
He was in Los Angeles in 2013, and he did get mentioned
Wow I’m dumbass I forgot he was traded in 2011 my bad
Can’t believe you didn’t mention the Cueto chant from that long suffering Pirates fan base.
Remember when the top 5 BA in both leagues would all be over .310?
2016 was insane.
Had close friends at the bombing it was crazy the dad had just took their two kids to the car when the bomb went off my mom’s friend was a block away from the shootout to catch the culprits she had to shield her children just in case because she had no idea what was happening and how close it was those events were terrible and they were terrifying
Watching this video makes me think Padres get leftovers after it's been chewed up and spit out. Looking at the last 3/4 years.
As a fellow twins fan, we’ve come so far
Last year was a lot of fun I’m excited to see this young core progress and the rise of Brooks Lee
@@GomerBaseball gotta hope they can all come together, Lee should be super fun to add to the infield, sucks the TV issue is cash strapping then so hard, still will be a fun team to watch
Neither picture from your graphic is from 2003
As a Cubs fan, sir, I must disagree. Die hards were all starting to get antsy in the pants when we drafted Bryant. I remember the boards. So many many It's finally happening memes flying about. I'd say that was near fever pitch for soon to be hype for the squad.
I was in pre-K
Haha…Benoit totally didn’t throw first pitch changeup to Ortiz. The tigers definitely won the World Series that year. I am not delusional
I still say Alex got black balled by the mlb as a whole not just the Yankees. How do you retire being so close to 700 home runs? Steroids or not that’s a magical number that I swear I would’ve go for it before retiring. I think he was 4 home run shy? That’s an April for some players 🤷🏻♂️ but great video
You need to do a video on Yasiel Puig. The man deserves to still be in MLB
You sound like markiplier for some reason
Nothing was good a decade ago.
Did you skip the Phillies? Wtf that season was my first as a fan haha.
2013 is the most “insane” year in baseball history? Are you 15 years old?
You had one job. How you butcher Papi’s speech?
Interesting video but damn the AI voice is unbearable. Couldn’t make it all the way through
You really think that's his AI voice and not his real voice?
That's the dude's real voice not AI.
@@86byrdman 100% AI.
@@rebelpunk13 Just curious, why do you think this is an AI voice?
I take tremendous pleasure in being right about Josh Hamilton's character all along.
