I just found out that they were Country Band Of The Year in both 1987 and 1988. Twas a young lad back then, but such fond memories. Simpler times, much better music.
Hwy101 are in class all by themselves. Yes, broke up now but still their style of country is awesome. No one in Nashville could touch them in their prime. Band is very tight and great talent on lead guitar and pedal steel. Drummer also great . mosrite60
@@lches335 Yes the era of mosrites really started early-mid 60s with Semie Moseley. Ventures used them for several years circa 64-68. Later the company fell apart. But even today mosrites are very popular. Collectors items. But musicians still use them. Very interesting story.
You are so right... However Paulette Carlson and that voice, was the Golden ingredient that made it work... No offense to the lady who they tried to replace her with, but there was no replacing Paulette... Once that was tampered with, it was over...
The voice of Paulette Carlson is like listening to an angel sing. The vocals blend so well with the instrumentals. And I love the Minnesota twang she has!
Please tell me what Happen to Highway 101. One greatest band and lots classic hits songs I listen on radio I saw in concert at Mall of America Bar last time before close. I truly enjoy classic songs . From Minnesota . One greatest band and drummer gone . Please nice see come back again. A plus song. Two thumbs up.
FABULOUS SONG FROM PAULETTE AND HIGHWAY.Thos song was big back in 1989 when I went to see them for the first time.I was thrilled, the memorys will last forever.Great upload. Thanks
I first heard Highway 101 up here in N.Y. on a country station. Honky Tonk Heart is my favorite. Such great memories of that time period! Thanks for posting these great tunes. ❤
I agree with victor lopez . The music on today's radio is not worth a flip anymore . One out of ten songs is a good song . The rest of it ( well ) . Who knows what it is ? But it ain't country . So I listen to my playlist on my phone .
I think this song means . She met him in a bar he looked like a movie star . She thought she felt a spark . All her friends warned her about him . But looks can be deceiving . He was looking out for number one . She wants a home and family . She's tired of the night life . But she's not gonna find that with him . But he's got a honky tonk heart . Their song is almost ended .
who is the pedal steel player. I/d really like to know. Maybe JD Maness? Very good regardless who it is, HWY 101 surely one of the greatest c/w bands in the last 30 years. mosrite60
I met my ex in a .....BAR.. She could not stay away from ...She ran my car down an interstate ramp coming to pic me up frm work,,,(an hr late!)..got car towed she said where are we goin?,"I'm takin you home",I took her to the bar, Went home got my things and left, Best thing I ever done,She loved that bar life...Those types never change....ever!..
I loved 101 from the start. But when Paulette left, they sadly didn't last too long. Their sound revolved around her vocal style and she was a hard act to follow.
That is Wynonna Judds hubby Cactus Mosier...Big reason they split, he was nearly killed m cycle accident, lost a leg...She helped him...They got married..
Her voice, the lyrics they just give me goosebumps all the time🥹🥹🥶🤯🤯🤯
