Touhou 15.3 ~ Yakumo Ball Like Impossible Spellcard but face off against other characters/players with their own unique spellcards (and with Yukari being the last boss of course). Damn Touhou is fun.
I just thought of some ideas for certain characters, already! Sakuya - Occasionally freezes time and positions the ball somewhere else, leaving knives at the original spot. Cirno - Freezes the ball and changes its trajectory and velocity after a few seconds. Mystia - Darkens the screen so you can only barely see your hitbox and the ball. Medicine - Coats the ball in poison gas that slows you down after you hit it. Mamizou - Randomly switches out the ball with a tanuki that deducts 1 point if you touch it, throwing the real ball later. Meiling - Every time she hits the ball, bullets come flying out of it. Reisen - Creates three _Illusion Balls_ that act like the standard ball, but don't leave the screen. Patchouli - One of five different attacks: * Fire - Ball moves faster and leaves a trail of bullets when she hits it. * Water - Ball fires a ring of bubbles when bouncing on the sides. * Wood - Ball gets blown away to either the left or right sides by wind. * Earth - Boulders come falling down, but explode when the ball passes by. * Metal - Increases your shield size and covers the ball in metal, making it explode into a bullet ring.
Hecatia - Splits the ball into three, each of which counts as an individual ball. Tenshi - Randomly launches a keystone that bounces the ball and can hit you, or fires lasers. Nue - Makes the ball disappear for a few seconds, before making it reappear in a different spot. Reimu - Walls off her side with a barrier that has to be hit twice to actually score (like _this_ Hakurei Barrier) Marisa - The ball speeds up every time she hits it, or she fires lasers at you. Alice - Uses two puppets per round as extra paddles, that can be destroyed by hitting them with the ball. Byakuren - Uses her super speed to spike the ball at a sharp angle. Shinmyoumaru - Shrinks the ball to make it faster, or make it slower by growing it. Aya - Creates a tornado that sucks up the ball, spins it, and then spits it out. Ichirin & Unzan - Unzan throws punches at you or the ball, making it bounce. Mokou - Lights the ball on fire when she hits it, making it fire bullets with each bounce, but might kill herself if it hits her. (You're safe) Youmu - Randomly switches the ball with her ghost half, which moves erratically, and throws the ball later. Utsuho - Fires waves of nuclear energy at you, with wide hitboxes. Satori - Makes a _memory ball_ shoot from your character, that follows the current ball's path from 5 seconds ago.
Crazed Soldier This is a small nitpick, but note the ball speeds up each time it's hit no matter what. Perhaps it getting faster in less time would be Marissa?

The amount of YES in this video, it's uncanny. You should definitely make more unconventional danmakufu, you've basically begun pioneering it. Perhaps it could be the objective of a danmakufu scripting competition? *wink wink nudge nudge*

You do seem to be the resident expert on ridiculous silliness with danmakufu, my personal favorite being able to come on and slam, AND WELCOME TO THE PHANTASM! Putting something like this into a normal scrip would be pretty cool too, maybe like a minigame for extra lives/bombs with the risk of also losing some? If I knew anything about C++ I'd definitely try these things myself, but I suppose relaying the info to the professionals seems like my best bet for now. Definitely going to download this script tomorrow.
Just rewatched this after a long while -- just as delightfully entertaining as the first time around. My friend, who had found it for the first time and linked it back to me, commented, "Yukari is not very good at Yakumo Ball." I said, "But each new gimmick trips Reimu up at least once, so that's all it needs to be satisfying." (Also, you're just too good as a player.)

These scripts are like the craziest, most gorgeous, most in-character interactive works of visual fanfiction... What a ride from start to finish-- seriously, you are the MASTER of taking an already crazy awesome concept and then pushing the boundaries more and more and cranking it up to eleven. You really are the perfect Yukari. (ALSO the artist who does your custom portraits is fabulous. I never thought "table-tennis-uniform Yukari" would be relevant to anything, but there she is and I love it.)

That Good End surprised me. I didn't expect you to take that track at all. It's nice that Yukari conducted herself fairly after losing, even if she was a titanic dick when she won. She completely went off the rails. Poor Ran, though. Reimu was right, I'm pawsitive that this counts as animal abuse. She's going to have a sorry tail to tell Chen later... although considering what Yukari's like, this is pretty much par fur the course.
Perhaps you should make difficulty levels like normal Touhou, perhaps the higher difficulties would change the patterns of Yukari's lasers (the slow homing lasers are just way too easy) or perhaps she could add Chen to the mix so you would have to maintain two balls at once. This kinda reminds me of that pong game on Walfas, only better. Also, that's the best Touhou ending ever. The shades are a nice touch.
god knows why but for some reason tf2 gets directly (or indirectly) related to touhou sometimes (in this case "TRAIN RAIN!" is taken from the custom map koth_trainsawlaser and it's one of the quotes of the train god on that map....)
Hey...I made something like this about a year ago. Didn't involve Touhou, but it was a danmaku pong game. Regardless, this was really cool to see it in Danmakufu. The Hakurei Barrier seems OP as hell, but I loved the endings. The pun in the bad ending was appreciated.
