That’s an employer’s wish list, just like when they ask us about our desired salary, I aim higher than what I really want, so they pay me what I want 😉
I saw the title and thought to myself - since when did Internships require experience. The very purpose of an internship is to provide experience to students
"Go to the Career Fair" yes yes yes. I always tell people to do this when they ask me how to get into FAANG. I literally got my FAANG job through a career fair back in 2014 :)
This video is not good. He's constantly iscouraging people from applying to big name companies. LOTS of companies have programs that target freshman and sophomores. He's unaware. Also, how come people shouldn't apply for big name companies? No one should tell no to themselves, its the recruiters job.
I was searching for a video that helps me getting an internship in my junior year. Ended up taking life lessons that completely changed my mindset, and will have a great impact on my future. Thank you
I got my actually skipped the internship and went straight to entry-level just by sending a simple “cover letter” along with my resume, and I was still in school.

You said things that I know I needed to hear, but didn't want to, a good man, thank you, commenting is all I can do, since I can't reach out to you personally, but if someday I can, I will make sure to bagger you with tons of questions, so much that you have to tell me to go away because you'll have to be somewhere or you'll run out of time😂. Looking forward for some genuine progress.

You’ll want to mainly ask about their journey and background-so if someone mentions they interned at a specific company, ask them about the interview process, how they got the 1st interview, what prior work experience have they done, etc. And if they mention anything surprising or counterintuitive, make sure you ask clarifying questions and dive into it.
I am a senior with minimal experience related to tech besides school courses. I am struggling to find an internship or a co-op and am becoming worried about my situation. Am a little lost right now
You're not alone. I am on the same page, but I have been self teaching myself to code outside of school. All I really have for myself are personal projects and no internships. I am nearing my final semester and sweating buckets.
Me too.. I am worried that I have gotten my degree for nothing but personal work. I have 1 more semester until I graduate and I have only been able to get one interview. Someone told me that looking for online work is kind of pointless and that I should be looking for an in person job that's local.
Thanks for sharing your journey, Aman. It’s really inspiring to see how you landed those internships without prior experience. I’m definitely going to try applying to smaller companies.
Heyy Aman, Actually I require JavaScript in my internship, and I am currently struggling with it. If you, please share you Notion notes about it. It would really benefit me immensely. Thanks
I don’t know how it works in other parts of the world but usually companies want interns who are going to stay working for a full-time job later on. Why would they want to train somebody who is going to another company? Big companies can afford it but small ones, I guess can’t
I don’t understand the measurable aspects of the resume because where are you getting the data from? It sounds like people slap random numbers when I read their resumes
Holy I love your personality. I'm going to start my grind, do you think it's possible to get some internship before college starts? I'm going to India over the summer but I'd love to get a small time internship online with any tech company, is that feasible?
Your video lost all its credibility when you're constantly, throughout it, discouraging people from applying to big name companies. LOTS of companies have programs that target freshman and sophomores. Are you not aware? Are you not educated? Also, how come people shouldn't apply for big name companies? How do you have “no experience” but you’re a cs major at a very reputable school? You also had other internships. Very misleading
Just what i was about to say
the first thing he wants us to do is build a time machine and go back in time to get non paying internships in highschool
Never understood jobs that have entry level positions but it says you have to have experience😂. That would make no sense. The job isn’t entry then.
That’s an employer’s wish list, just like when they ask us about our desired salary, I aim higher than what I really want, so they pay me what I want 😉
Exactly.
I got my first tech position as a graduate intern after three years work experience. 😂😂
Lol true
I saw the title and thought to myself - since when did Internships require experience. The very purpose of an internship is to provide experience to students
google internship requires experience of internship😂

But this position wasn't that competitive back then... Now, we have reached the time when kids have been preparing for this field since they were 6.
This is a great video. Nobody wants to say they’re family or friends are the reason they got a job, but in reality that is the case for MANY people

i found this video 15 hours after it was uploaded, you're godsent! thank you for the great advice!
This was such a good overview of the basics of getting a software internship for people just getting started, thank you so much!
I like how you emphasized the importance of career fairs. It’s a great way to meet potential employers and get a feel for the industry.

Starting LeetCode sounds like a great idea. I’ve been procrastinating on that for too long. Thanks for the motivation.

So you reached out to them first? Or did the company have a role open and you applied with the role
@@edboss36 They had a open role. And, then sent a cover letter along my resume expressing interest.

What questions do I badger people with? Whenever I’m in that position my mind goes blank…

I don’t understand the measurable aspects of the resume because where are you getting the data from? It sounds like people slap random numbers when I read their resumes
You do your best to come up with real numbers from the internship project - but at the end of the day, it is a little bit of finessing
