Craig John-Paul was dating Spike who was openly gay had no girlfriend and wanted an exclusive relationship with him but John-Paul just didn't want him wanted the imperfect Craig who had a girlfriend John-Paul ended up dumping spike and sleeping with Craig all the while he knew that Craig was still with Sarah Sarah eventually dumped Craig John-Paul hoped they could go public with their relationship Craig desperate not to be thought of as gay went crawling back to Sarah and rushed off on holiday with her John-Paul was heartbroken he wrote Frankie a letter revealing their relationship he later regretted sending the letter he enlisted ex boyfriend spike help John-Paul invited spike back to his house spike was hopeful that they would get back together but John-Paul just didnt want spike anymore he wanted Craig he soon took him back after the holiday and agreed to carrying on affair behind Sarah back
When Craig returned John-Paul had keiran who was devoted to him and was desperate to set a wedding date but John-Paul still loved despite how much he had hurt him in the past

John Paul's character has been badly cast....as the main character and someone who is the object of every gay character's affection one would have expected him to be so much more attractive and appealing......he lacks both personality and looks and his sex appeal is virtually non existent George's character was perfectly cast ...Callum Kerr is both handsome and sexually appealing and his bad boy image is a delight to us viewers.....we just love to hate him....but we find him terribly attractive nevertheless!
