I'm just kind of confused I have hundreds of playlists most of them have full albums on them Am I missing something or does he Just not know how to make playlists with albums lol

If you have the album as part of the playlist but you're not listening to that album in it's entirety then that album is being threatened by concept of playlists. At that point it appears only certain songs are being played off the album and not the album itself. At least this is what I think

@@happytheatszsee, i really didn't like some rap songs as a collective work in its entirety but the songs i did like forced me to listen to the album completely and now i either love and/or slightly like those songs that i initially didn't. that's literally what he means by grow with the album. thats exactly what happened with me. so yes, playlists FOR SURE threaten the integrity and industrial complex of "the album" several bodies of work were like that for me. you start to place certain memories with those full bodies of work. as you should.

Yeah. The songs you initially like on an album are surrounded by, maybe, ones that didn't grow on you yet but through repetition, you start to really listen to them and they, completely, do grow on you.

I share the same philosophy as far as listening to albums and “acquiring” an artist’s musical taste. It’s a similar process to when I listened to Mr. Morale. As I grow with the music, I grow an affinity for the album in its entirety

Make playlists all you want, that’s not totally bad either (you could maybe want a list of songs optimal for certain activities or moods or you could make thematic lists that maybe provide their own enrichment and room for growth). Where we run into trouble is stagnating in your musical intake, reducing artists to hits, and letting other people pick all your music for you.
Some Rap Songs is a perfect example of what he's talking about. The songs on their own are good but the whole album on one sitting is a crazy ass ride. It's my favorite Earl album.
