The house is the most abused character in the entire franchise.
Trish's car is a close second.
@@fuzzyelf1 very true.
cant wait to see the reactions after what happens in Lethal W 4 and the kid crawling to help them
The house got a break in this movie big time. Gets the worst abuse in the 4th.
@@Victory-in-YAHUSHA as well as Rianne’s car
I swear to God, Emily, that "Karma Suture" line had me laughing out loud like a mad man. In public, no less. Don't ever change.
That is right up there with the line from Starship Troopers “that bug just capri sunned that man.”
Fantastic coment Emily, you are one of the best with segways
@@billybennet75 I almost broke my neck on a segway.
Imdid a double take then couldn't stop laughing
Agreed that was just as good as "that vagina bug just Capri sunned that man!" Need a top 10 one liners of the year
Riggs giving Roger the business always gets me.
"I got three beautiful kids, they're yours! I live in your refrigerator, Trish does my laundry!!!"
Emily and Matthew's laughter and reactions to funny movies is music to our ears! So excited for the 4th film reaction!
Emily & Matthew are relationship goals.
One of the things that makes this franchise very special is the continuity of the actors and actresses. All of the main characters are there the 4 movies or since when they did the first appearance: all members of the Murtaugh family, Riggs, Lorna, Leo, the police Captain, the blonde female psychiatrist (this actress,Mary Ellen Trainor, was in a lot of movies in the 80s and 90s as a supporting actress). I think its pretty unsual and amazing at the same time and gives a strong feeling of continuity to the saga.
Oh shit so true, I never thought about that, but I can't remember any trilogy that brings back EVERY actor.
@@punkem733 you know what? Now that I think about it, there's not a lot of series or trilogies where the same actors that started the series are the same actors that end it. Usually they change up the character in there somewhere like I remember with the fresh Prince of Bel-Air they changed Aunt Viv and even Fred Sanford if you remember Sanford and son, they changed honest or up from who she was from the beginning to who we know now.
@@shioriryukaze I agree, it really is amazing.
"Bullet wound foreplay. It's called kama suture..." I just--I just can't! There are no words for how much that made me laugh!!!!!
I can't wait for her to see part 4. The back-and-forth between Leo and Chris Rock is epic
Same here
4 is the worst one, but it’s the most fun to watch
Richard Donner is an awesome director:
1976: The Omen
1978: Superman
1985: The Goonies
1985: Ladyhawke
1987: Lethal Weapon
1989: Lethal Weapon 2
1992: Lethal Weapon 3
1994: Maverick
1998: Lethal Weapon 4
2006: 16 Blocks
Loved watching this in the cinema. Favourite lines: Riggs: "Roger...grab the cat". Leo in bath scene "Where's Riggs, I didn't know he could hold his breath that long". A shout out to the wonderful opening theme song and flame graphics. Look forward to you both watching Lethal Weapon 4.
I love this series so much. It isn't often you get this level of emotion and character development in cop movies. They really knew how to make the best out of the sequels.
Kama Suture? Holy shit, that is pure gold.
NGL “now we have a relationship we can build on” may be my favorite villain one-liner ever
All of the Lethal Weapon movies are written by Shane Black. You'd love his directorial debut "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang". It's a wonderful movie that takes place during Christmas.
Shane Black only wrote the first 2. He had it that Riggs died in part 2 and when they didn't do it he left the series.
He also acted. He played Hawkins (the guy with the bad jokes) in Predator.
“I don’t know if the roll was necessary”
It’s the whole point.
"Don't worry, his back broke his fall"
Too good, and too close to home for me. Been there 😅
Favourite Lethal Weapon. I actually prefer the latter movies to the earlier, so probably this or maybe the next one.
But, then there's also the Always Sunny Lethal Weapons too ;)
I get Leo annoying people.. but I kinda like him in this! I think I prefer him in this than LW2
The Lethal Weapon series is one of my all time favorite action series. Love that you all are covering these. I am very much pro- Leo Getz. As for the ranking, it is as follows:
Lethal Weapon 2
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 3
Lethal Weapon 4
I too think 2 is the best one.
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 4
Lethal Weapon 2
Lethal Weapon 3
That was so much fun😄 now all you have left is Lethal Weapon 4
Okay, okay, okay... as far as dynamic buddy duos go, Riggs and Murtaugh come second behind Emily & Matthew! This reaction did not disappoint, guys! Emily's face when Matthew said that R&M weren't in it, the kama suture line (which I'm totally stealing for a Cards Against Humanity card!)... just as entertaining as the film itself!
And of course I am totally pro-Leo. You can kind of tell that he was a slight afterthought in this one because he wasn't as integral to the plot this time around, but it wouldn't have been right to not have him there!
Yes I agree
These are so good, they're the best in their genre! I always giggle at Emily's puns and Matthew just 🤦♂️😂
Something kinda funny is I lived in Orlando when they filmed the building blowup in beginning! And was there on set. I look close and I'm in my trucks bed next to firetruck
The first Lethal Weapon is the best one of the bunch in my opinion and I don't mind Leo, he gets to be a little much in some scenes but overall I like the character.
I'm sorry but those that just don't like Joe pesci..... cmon the guys' a legend!!!!
Meh, I figger they just sympathize with Riggs & Murtaugh too strongly, adopting their opinion of him.
Yes, he's a funny guy
Yep my favorite movie of his is "8 heads in a duffle bag"
@@lito6062 Like a clown?
@@jean-paulaudette9246 Aww, they love him, really. Most of the time they're trying to protect him by making him stay put.
Recently I read how some food shortens life expectancy. I am positive that videos like this with precious Emily's laughter defeats any junk food and extend life. Thank you for that
Been so sick this weekend I needed some fun stuff to watch, been waiting on this one, thanks guys! Can't wait for 4!
“We’re on a case…of scotch!”
🤣🤣🤣
Matthew: "He ain't too old for that shit."
🤣
Hello, movie suggestion: My cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci).
Also, pro Leo obviouslyyyyyyy.
Additional info about the opening scene where the old city hall building was blown up, the local Mayor played a uniformed cop who made what in the film sounded like a sarcastic remark, but in context was genuine, something like 'good work' or 'nice job' etc.
The look Em gives Matt when she thought she got the whole plot wrong lol. I too rank this one over the second film too. And you guys are right on the money about the house being as much as a character. Look forward to y'all watching the 4th one. Also I recommend the TV series as well it was bad at all.
Lethal Weapon 3 is my favorite of the LW movies. It's so funny and action packed.
Mine too🔥🔥💯🔥
The line about eating his heart, it sounds like a hunter thing..
And now it's time to rewatch Loaded Weapon 1 😋
Emily and Matt I live 30 mins west of Victorville CA where the housing development scene was filmed .
One of the greatest squeals in movie history
The building they destroyed at the beginning was in Orlando. I lived nearby when they were filming. A friend of mine got a t-shirt signed by Gibson.
Karma Suture is one of the best puns I've ever heard and I might steal it for my own use!
That building they destroyed was actually the old City Hall in Orlando. And it was scheduled for demolition. Filmmakers just took their chance.
We can't wait forever for number 4. Let's just get the series over now. As for Leo.....love him..... sparingly!
@16:37...."the house is almost a character"
Me: ohhh surprise in store in Lethal Weapon 4
I'm hoping you guys react to Lethal Weapon 4, it's my favorite in the franchise because of Chris Rock and Jet Lee!
Blankets!
I was at that hockey game at The Forum in Inglewood. It was filmed during an actual LA Kings game (but not during gameplay).
Ok, please let me know, if anyone else had this experience: There was a trailer for Lethal Weapon 3, which showed the opening bomb diffuse disaster in abbreviated form. There was a certain music track playing, first all suspenseful while they were outside the building and then explosively dramatic when they were running out of the building and jumping into cover. As far as I know, this music was not on the soundtrack itself, just in the trailer.
Now, who else laughed in delight, when in Hot Fuzz that same trailer music played, when they went into that farm house with all the guns in it and then ran away from the ticking sea mine? :D
When mentioning Richard Donner movies you forgot to mention 2 of his biggest movies of the 70s:
1976 - The Omen
1978 - Superman
Cool Factoid: One of the bad guys played by Nick Chinlund A.K.A. Toombs from the Riddick series. He was also in Eraser and a few others
"Karma Suture": you need stitches afterwards
🤣🤣🤣
"Just in case you were concerned there was gonna be a _motorcycle_ chase."
Yeah. And you know, I seem to recall, at some point, they're gonna head clear across the world and have a chase through a mine between a couple _carts_ and Indiana Jones is gonna say, "Hey. What the hell are you guys doing in _my_ movie?"
The bullet-wound foreplay scene is an homage to a similar scene in the highly under-rated "Return Of The Swamp Thing." I'd love for y'all to take a look at that one!
me and my mom have watched Leathal Weapon 1-4.....i don't know how many times, loves these movies!
Emily, make sure to tell Matthew that he's the jam in your jelly roll !!
Yes they did destroy an actual building. Richard Donner was notorious for not ever wanting to use miniatures in his films. So every thing was real
The dog biscuit thing gets me every time lol and the leo rants about being fucked hahaha
Another dog saving moment. You save a dog, and he’ll save you. I want someone who thinks thinks I’m the jelly to her roll. You think after the first time, he’d learn to lock the bathroom door. If you like these movies, there’s a Lethal Weapon TV show. It didn’t last long, but it wasn’t all that bad.
I couldn’t put it off any longer,I had to watch and I was handsomely rewarded.
After you guy's do lethal weapon 4, please do "with honors", "the super", and "Jimmy Hollywood"! Pesci-a-thon...hell yeah!!!
Don’t forget about “Butters” and him and Leon’s rant about cell phones! God that was hilarious!
Actually, he's cowering behind this desk right now!
She says you are the Jam in her Jelly Roll!
I remember my mother hysterically laughing at the dog scene. Ahh good times
I really enjoy seeing your reactions to these great movies Emily
I’ve been waiting months for this, and you didn’t disappoint! 😃😃😃
Oh, hi Mark.
(Watched it again this morning to cheer myself up!)
I agree, the roll is ALWAYS necessary.
I believed that building demolished by the bomb was scheduled to be destroyed by the city. So, they added it for the scene
I’ve never seen this movie, but as a very young kid, my favourite mug was a lethal weapon 3 mug with the pic from the thumbnail, that they were giving out at the video rental store one day lol
They use ground penetrating radar to look for bodies under concrete because they do indeed leave a Cavity when they decompose. Emily knows 👀
Gotta love that directors cut!
That cement on the body thing... youtube mythbusters concrete pig .. they fill a pit and in a month the stench starts coming out ... pretty interesting
Check out "The Cannonball Run". Great classic comedy.
4:15 Shooters shoot! ⛹🏿♀️🏀😂😂😂😂
Grappig om te zien hoe er nu na gekeken word gezien release time van de film
"Kama Suture" had me in stitches.
Leo was the Jar Jar of the Lethal Weapon franchise.
That's harsh to Leo, Leo was actually funny lol
The karma suture remark had rolling 🤣🤣🤣
What about the third "Naked Gun" movie?
Personal ranking of the series....first is this one #3... Second is your next one(hopefully) #4....third is #2...least is the OG #1. Can't wait for you to continue on your journey of Beverly Hills Cop. Grand fun as usual and thanks for the laughs.
If I had to rank them I would go this order:
Lethal Weapon 3
Lethal Weapon 2
Lethal Weapon 1
Lethal Weapon 4
Dont get me wrong though, its not like I hate any of them. Id watch all of them again in a heartbeat. And for those who don't like Leo, Shame on you all. I think Rene Russo's Lorna Cole was a great addition as well to the story and balances Riggs nicely.
Movies to add:
Broken Arrow
Another 48 hrs (since you saw 48 hrs)
I Still Know what you did last Summer
Con Air
The Incredibles series
The scream series in on the suggestions list!
@@codesent2125 Got to admit I was kind of reaching for the 5th movie to add and did not even look at the suggestions page at all. I found the Ace Ventura movie as well. So I swapped them out with I still know what you did Last Summer and the Incredibles series
One my favorite Lethal Weapon movies. Much ❤ as always 😊
She was having TOO much fun on this one. 😂 I thought she was gonna strain something. 🤣
Lethal Weapon 4 is also surprisingly very good. I say that because usually when movie series goes on for too long there is a drop in quality, usually in the writing. But Lethal Weapon is one of the few series that I can actually say that there is not a bad movie in the series. They are all very good.
Agreed all are great they basically improve on the previous but without stealing from it or shitting on it
@@-M0LE agreed. They keep doing what works but change enough that it doesn't seem like it's the same old, same old. Especially in regards to character growth.
8:13 - Okay, I think I have Matthew's #title: "The Reaction Pun-Wrangler." Because someone's gotta rein Emily in!
And now... a complaint. Look, I adore you two. You're my favorite "reactor couple." (I don't think any of the others have survived; I unsubscribed those others and never looked back.) But I feel like you're over-editing the reactions you post here. I'm on a severely limited income. I can't afford to support you on Patreon. And there's so... much... movie being cut that it kinda hurts. I know you have to make those cuts. Copyright and all that. So I'm asking for a little more. Give us up to 20 minutes of reactions instead of 12 to 15 minutes. Pleeeeeease? And don't worry if the follow-up with your critique and Matthew's trivia is another 20+ minutes. I'm here for it, baby!
my favorite scene hands down is definitely the hockey scene where riggs announces that the LAPD that is there to arrest Jack Travis and of course the bullet foreplay is always the fun scene of all time and the bombs are always the fun good laugh too. Question did you show the full reaction on Patreon because I was hoping you would have shown the reaction of Leo showing the house to the couple and the disclosure of the many incidents in the house and his "hey can I have a gun this time?" "NO!" you definitely have to see the director's cuts of lethal weapons 1,2,3 and 4 I highly recommend you watch those and react to them because they extend some of the scenes that are just absolutely too funny or some of them too real to be so much more I definitely a shout out to your husbandly #cinemaguruexpert I'm sure he'll agree or not on those
Karma Suture 🤣🤣🤣
I can't wait for you guys to do Lethal Weapon 4 it's honestly my favorite one!
I love Leo!!!!
Rest In Peace, Richard Donner!
Her ratings for 1 and 2 were 8.3 and 8.6 respectively, so with this at a 9, it's just going up each movie.
If I remember correctly, the Murtaugh house was also the Griswold´s neighbors´ house in Christmas Vacation. Also, where´s the reaction for LW2? Amazing as always! Oh, and viewer-submitted title here! #purveyorofpicturehouseperfection
Many people that saw this film were somewhat annoyed by the funeral scene. The social commentary that somehow it was not the fault of Darryl for getting involved in a gang, or his decision to shoot at police, but the person that gave him the gun in the first place. Sadly that discussion is relevant today.
Kharma suture… Brilliant! Lol
I remember seeing this sequel on ABC back in the day and it was aight but not is near the second one
Until now I did not know that Thor's Mom was stepping out...
Lethal Weapons is really the best solution for ANY medicine!
Can't wait for you guys to react to Lethal Weapon 4
This one is my favorite of the Lethal Weapon movies
I know these guys have watched Galaxy Quest...so Em should already know...the rolling ALWAYS helps. 😋😂
Directed by Richard Donner who Did Superman The Movie in 1978.
11:16 It would've been a Quiznos chase but they couldn't get the sponsorship.
#title Movie Maestro and his Myopic Mrs.
(pretty sure I've seen Emily with glasses and I'm a sucker for alliteration)
22:33 Pro Leo. 👍🏿✊🏿👏🏿
The thing about the Lethal Weapon movies, is that there is a natural progression to the story with each movie. Some love the first movie, but hate the last 2...... I love all of them, because I see the overall story. I can't wait to see Emilie's reaction to the last movie(4). It comes to a wonderful closure for the story. I really like that one.
Yeah the writing and pacing and overall character development was just an superb as the action element it’s such a well crafted film with great chemistry between the actors also superb casting
All these films are superb 4 is a perfect ending even though I’d love a 5
"Grab the cat !!!"
Karma-sutre BRILLIANT
Leo all the way!!!! We all need a Leo In our lives.
