Microsoft suggests that Windows 11 installations not meeting the requirements MAY not get security patches. But remember that Windows 10 updates end in October 2025. All of the Windows 11 installations that I have installed on such non-compliant PCs so far are receiving monthly updates. This seems like the better option than not receiving updates after Windows 10 EOL.

If you install Win11 on unsupported hardware, the OS will continue receiving regular security patches, anti-virus updates and driver updates, but ONLY FOR THAT BUILD of Win11. But you will not AUTOMATICALLY receive new Win11 builds! By "builds", I'm talking about the annual/semi-annual major OS releases like 22H2, 23H2, 24H2. If you're on any earlier Win11 build like 22H2 or 23H2, Windows Update will not offer you 24H2. You'll have to seek out the 24H2 iso and manually download it. Then you'll have to manually perform an in-place upgrade using whatever minimum h/w requirement check bypass/hack that's still CURRENTLY functioning... MS constantly closes h/w bypasses loopholes with each new Win11 build so new ones must be researched and employed). For techies, this isn't a showstopper b/c we know about tools like Rufus or using the Win11 "server" bypass hack. But for the general public, this is simply a no-go. You might be able to coach your mom & dad through the process once... but them having to manually do this every year simply isn't sustainable for keeping their OS build version current.

My system has TPM 2.0. The problem that I have is that Window still sucks. Unfortunately, Windows programming is where I make all my money. I wish I could be like Steve Gibson and still program in MS-DOS professionally.

I've not enabled the TPM chip on my AM4 mobo, I won't have to worry about it after Oct. 2025 Debian runs fine without it.

I wish they would at least make support for older CPUs official. For example, in terms of IPC there is not much difference between in terms of IPC between a core i7 6700k, core i7 7700k and a core i7 8700k, and while there are some architectural differences, it doesn't really impact performance. From a perceptual standpoint, the user experience is pretty similar. There are many older systems where people are not using them for demanding workloads, and it just created e-waste by trying to force people to buy new hardware unnecessarily.

TPM is not what is keeping users from upgrading.
The fact that Windows 10 blows, and Windows 11 blows even worse...
is what is keeping users from upgrading.

All Microsoft need to do is update windows 10 and remove windows 11.

My system has TPM 2.0. The only issues I'm facing is Secure Boot and CPU (i5 - 6600 @ 3.30)

I don’t understand why anyone would bother with Windows when you could run Linux. More robust, more secure, easy to update and free.

I've been running 11 on multiple computers with no tpm for over a year with no problems. They appear to be receiving all of the updates...

I think the actually requirements might be that its required to exist, idk if its required to be active.

I have tried it on a few systems, including a system running a 3rd gen Intel Core i7 CPU, and while it was able to get regular security updates, larger updates such as the update to 24H2, would not be available, It is as if the update does not exist, and windows update doesn't even tell you that the you cannot get the update. This essentially means that the user must manually periodically read up on updates that Microsoft may withhold without notifying the user. (PS 24H2 when manually installed via a fresh install, works fine. While feature updates were mentioned in the video, the issue is that this shows that Microsoft is willing to silently withhold updates, and give the user no indication of that action, and there is no telling how far they will take that scumbag behavior.
