John McCurry | Young Breeder of the Year (2023)

“Double bred Angus” is the description from his peers. In 1977 the marriage of his parents, Mary & Andy, two third generation Angus breeders who met at Kansas State University, began a new era of McCurry Angus. Today the ranch operates on 2,000 acres of sandhill pastures near Hutchinson, Kansas. Also a graduate of Kansas State, John was an energetic NJAA member. He capped off his junior career in 2003 as he hung up his green coat for the last time. That attitude has been passed down to his three children who compete at the National Junior Angus Show every summer. John approaches every day as an opportunity to make a new friend and represent only the best qualities of an Angus breeder.
