The scout troopers scene in Mandalorian was so well done, everyone that watched Mando loved it. It's just so good to have an interaction as they're always seen as the "bad guys", it just shows that they're humans following orders.
And they're always portrayed as a by the books guy, or one that follows orders because they know what the Empire's like, and a newbie, or a not-so-obedient one

Scout troopers need to a running gag or something where their is always two of them, played by the same people every time and they just randomly show up in the background or have a quick back and fourth like in the Mandalorian.

The scout troopers are amazing, but those two First Order troopers going like "ah hell nah we ain't going near him when he's mad" just sends me every time. Especially since you can tell that one has been around long enough to know when to back off.
For all the issues I have with the Force Awakens, its humor was on point.

@@brianhall4182 Humor is great when it's sparse, but it being really prevalent reminded me the entire time that it was a Disney movie.
To be fair it doesn't take a lifetime of being a soldier to recognise that sparks and angry duck growling means you should run.
These two scout troopers represent so much that was missing in the sequels. The sequels were a paint by numbers job written and directed by a bunch of hacks. The Mandalorian was a show made by people who loved the source material and had the talent + motivation to make something great.
The Mandalorian was made by the same company, by the same people.
The only real difference is that it's smaller due to the budget.
And don't even get me started on the Obi wan show.
@@Orcawhale1 No, that is totally wrong. The sequels were a project headed by JJ Abrams. The Mandalorian was headed by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
JJ Abrams is best known for making projects that are all promise and no produce. Filoni was the man behind The Clone Wars and much of the great Star Wars animation. Favreau is the guy who made Zathura, Elf and this little film called Iron Man.
But yeah, totally the same guys lol.

Sure, the director and showrunners are different.
But that's not enough to actully make a big difference, all of them answer to Disney, and the Lucas story group.

@Joe Mama there are "gods" and "hells" in star wars. There's different religions established in the comics especially in legends but idk what religions are in the main canon, I'm sure they believe in some things
I always loved how the one First Order ST holds an arm out to the other one. It has big 'Vet saving the rookie from getting into trouble by disobeying orders in a small way' vibe to it.
That guy didn't have a choice when the space nazi's knocked on his door, but damn if he's not gonna get to the end of his tour and help some clueless kids get there with him.

This scout trooper scene worked so well because it was well timed and in a Star Wars series rather than trying to cram 5,000 jokes into The Last Jedi

We need a show with the two scout troopers. The stormtroopers are always seen as the simple Minion enemy and it would be cool to see deeper into the life of an actual trooper.

The bits with those 2 speeder troopers and Grogu and his nanny bot were my favourite bits in Mandolorian, full of dark humour, references and calling out movie tropes, it was great at making them like-able and human but also hate-able

I love how the one on the left just tried to shoot that thing on the ground and miss every single shot even though the range is close and so does the other guy, perfectly strengthen the fact that stormtrooper in general have a bad aim.
The way he's shaking the blaster just reinforces the old "military grade' means 'lowest bidder" trope as well.

If you want to see something similar to this, I would watch Red vs Blue. It's basically an sitcom of dudes standing around talking. They get into pretty crazy situations and there's a whole shit load of jokes in it. Once you get to Season 8 they put in animation which makes a whole lot better.
RvB is the best. When it was on Netflix I would binge it once a month
It starts to fall flat around the 12th or 13th season. But everything before that is pure gold.

stormtroopers are the comic relief of the starwars universe. i wouldnt have it any other way! their acting proves that acting with a helmet on doesn't affect the way we see emotion if the body acting and voice inflection is good. which is why i don't understand big time actors who demand to have their face seen in shows like Halo.

I have always Liked Bike Scouts Troopers. The Helmet is So Cool. This Scene was Priceless. 😂 You never really see them have a Conversation. I'm glad they Finally showed that their aim is always off and can't hit anything in front of them. 🤣👍

It's actually embarrassing how Lucasfilm treated Stormtroopers, in all the books they don't mess around and are BADASSES but as soon as they get onscreen they just become idiots in armour. Which raises the question why in their first ever appearance we see them they pretty much ROFL stomp the Rebels who EASILY could've held the Tantive IV's entrance. Don't portray them amazingly in one source then about face and screw them over in another.

Apparently the explanation in both canon and legends is training standards were different in between training academies, so one will produce stormies of near-clone quality and another that produces idiots that may or may not forget which end of the blaster to hold. Add to that how armor production is also inconsistent from factory to factory and you have why stormtrooper proficiency portrayal is all over the place
@@etazeta674 That actually makes sense, and applies IRL, as not every base is going to have the same effectiveness at training soldiers for any number of reasons.
@@etazeta674 yea i think i seen a video where they stopped making clones and started recruiting just normal people into the empire so they effectiveness of them went down drastically cuz they aren't trained from the test tube lol and then once all the clones got old and retired or whatever they do it was just humans and shit that probably lived normal lives until they joined the empire

I would love to see a show or movie based solely from the empire or the first order's perspective, like these stormtroopers seem like pretty cool dudes, just following orders, not sure how to feel about them kinda being ok with their boss killing his own bois, I mean you can see em talking about it so it must of happened before. I mean I would really like to see a stormtrooper or members of the empire or first order really believing their making a difference and doing the right thing, being played by Vader and sidious or Kylo Ren, or even 2 best friends who joined up together where one of them is for the empire and believes he's doing good while the other likes the control or more of the bad side, ya know. I mean I know we partly got that in Battlefront 2 (the new one) but I dunno, I havent played the story to have a proper opinion, but yeah.
