      No. I don't think any of the older gen can compete with newer generation of players. They are faster, better ball strikers, better form and just stronger players. Halep still uses too much arm. Her wrist is not loose. The WTA has turned the page already and quite frankly I enjoy watching the next gen more than older players.

      Wally Friend if you watch Ash Barty’s forehand, she doesn’t actively moving her wrist either. You are too fixated on the wrist and lose the big picture

    Every wta player breaks the plane. Makes me wonder if a compact forehand is truly so important at a recreational level

      No they don’t. The top women are starting to do more ATP Forehands.

      some of that boils down to the difference in anatomy between men and women. Men have stronger shoulders vs women with stronger hips and lower body
