I love this video wasn’t just trying to trash tech deck and stuff. You preferred to show people the true value by comparing and contrasting the other FB brands out here and be like look… here’s only one option for the same price everything else way way more expensive! Thank you for this VIDEO! 🎉🎉🎉
Great Review man! I haven't tried it out but I think the box definitely justifies the price a little bit. I mean its basically a obstacle and display case crammed into one. I think another thing to consider as well is you are paying for the novelty factor of having a wooden Fingerboard with a legit Skate Brand graphic as well which is cool to nerd out to if you are a skater. The Griptape is atrociously thick and makes the board look ridiculous but I know why they went down that route. They don't want customers to wear down the graphics quick then complain when they don't know how to replace it. As far as the trucks and wheels from observation they look pretty decent but I have heard of a few complaints that they break pretty easily. I think overall its definitely a good thing for Fingerboarding and a good start but from what I can tell they are still pretty far behind in quality. Its strange because you would expect Tech Deck to be at the top of the Fingerboarding game but it kind of seems like they haven't really cared about the community till recently for whatever reason. I think their target customers or consumers are kids and skaters rather than Fingerboarders themselves and thats obviously where the money is which is why they choose to sponsor events like Street League and not more grass root style approach. I think that is slowly changing as well though. When you think about it besides being an entry level Fingerboard option and bringing a lot of people into Fingerboarding, which dont get me wrong is huge! They haven't really done much to progress the actual Fingerboarding community. Not taking away anything for what they have done for the entry level side of things because it is massive, but a company like Tech Deck holds a lot of power and potential within the hobby and they haven't really done much with that power to further progress the hobby. They have sort of just sat comfortably at where they were at entry level and are only now choosing to branch out. Think about how big Fingerboarding would be if they chose to do this years ago and actually sold affordable good quality completes. Other brands would still exist because Fingerboarders love options and handmade stuff but I imagine the hobby would be a whole lot bigger than what it is. I know for me a big barrier in the hobby initially was finding somewhere local to buy a proper setup. If they had these wooden ones years ago I probably wouldn't have waited till 2019 to branch out from a simple Tech Deck. Sorry for the huge rant, I kind of got carried away but its just a bit surprising. Anyway once again great video!
honestly as someone who has been fingerboarding for 10+ years teak tuning is your best bet for a substitute. i personally only ride double joint decks but i picked up a square deck from them and it’s amazing. their wheels are also very good and i have got about 3 different pairs of them. reccomend for ppl looking for a substitute.
I ordered that board a few days ago.. im a noob 😂 so hopefully it will help me learn the basic tricks then ill upgrade. Who do you recommend i order from bud? I live in Pittsburgh PA
The trucks and wheels are interesting but the decks are still that kind of cheap produced like the performance series that I think they are still overpriced… And next to that, you still can’t get any in Germany without imports what it makes even more expensive but when spin master manage to get a seller in Germany I will try it to see if i am right or not but from all I have seen till now I think you still run better with a cheap complete like ASI shop Deck (starts at 5€ what’s more or less the same in us $), asi shop trucks 3.0 (15€), level up bushings (5€), grip (1€) and with this cheap basics you can even decide to put in 27,50€ for kraken wheels or just 7,50€ in shop wheels with shrinktube tuning (done by your own) plus the blackriver box 3 (20€), in both cases you are still cheaper then the tech deck (kraken wheels 73,50€, shop wheels 53,50€) and you have just a better setup… For better comparison, in Germany the pro series will cost something around 70-80€ (maybe even a bit more) and the only things I would use for sure are wheels, trucks and the box, on the setup I mentioned I would just use everything as it is (shop deck, trucks 3.0, level up bushings, kraken wheels and BR box) and I am in max on the same pricepoint when not even cheaper… So I would not say that the pro series is bad overall but you just can get something better for the money and with that in mind I vorlebt recommend this in special when you live in Germany…
For a dude I'm assuming is into "art" it's crazy that you're brushing over the fact they very clearly ripped off designs from other companies, and on top of that you are promoting IpeToys which is selling what are actual counterfeits of BRR, Yellowood, Flatface, etc.,.
I currently don’t own a set of BRTs, but after looking at some closeup pics I def agree the trucks are very similar design to BRTs. I wanted this this video to be as unbiased initial review of the product as possible. Once I test the tech deck trucks a little longer for durability i want to do a side-by-side comparison to BRTs. I am not promoting any of the companies in this video, just showing prices of other options available. Ipe toys and teak tuning sell cheaply manufactured trucks and fb parts that many other smaller companies include on their cheaper completes, and to be fair Blackriver uses the same cheaply manufactured trucks on their bolle series completes. I am curious to see If BR has a patent on their truck design!? I would think they could potentially sue tech deck for infringement…. If they don’t have a patent on them, its pretty much open source 🤷♂️ but still lame they did not take their time to develop something innovative and more original.
@@stickyartfb tech deck changed the kingpin to an inverted one.. doesn't affect the design at all, but could be a legal argument. also im not talking about basic china trucks like the ones from bollie, I'm talking about the EXACT replicas of Y Trucks and BRTs they are selling on IpeToys. Both them and Tech Deck clearly copied Flatface dual duros too.. Nobody else really makes wheels like that except FF, and they aren't very popular in actual street skating either. Even if there's no copyright it's just lazy and morally wrong. It's like making an exact copy of someone else's art with inferior materials so they can sell it cheaper and convince you it's "pro" quality when that's hardly the case.
i honestly wish they still had different sizes on the pro series, instead of being 34mm. i still prefer 32mm, just because my hands are small and i dont like big boards. over all its a really nice set up. but i still wouldnt pay $69 for one. the decent price should have been $30.

But the box really could be a bit heavier i think
Great review! Ordering mine on the 5th. It won't be a serious set up, I'll make videos with it but it'll be more for display.
Review it on ur channel I’ll watch for sure 💯!

Agreed 👍 for I have teak tuning boxy with apex street urethane wheels is 🔥🔥🔥(one of my favorite complete under $50)
I really want that zero board
I think I would get it but change the bushings and grip
I need this, game changing
nice review and ngl I could probably find a good setup with separate parts for less than the price a pro teckdeck
I agree! What setup would you go with instead?
@@stickyartfb for me I would go for a p-rep complete
I see definitely people using this as a huge upgrade from a normal plastic tech deck
I had the performance series and I fully upgraded with teak and the pro series. I like the performance best
That’s the file they made on the tool! Pretty sweet 👍🏼
File for grip tape 🤔😯🤩?! Sick !
@@emmanuelsanchez5506 yeah😏 cuz the one it comes with is way to thick ! Super sweet tho
Great review, thanks man :)
Just ordered the Plan B one! Arriving tomorrow, can't wait!!
Will tech deck ever sell just the box/ledge, because that is sick
Black River Ramps
The Expert Sk8 was around $20, that's $25 after accounting for inflation. It had superior build quality and didn't rip off any popular brands.
Little tip - for lightweight boxes or obstacles, use foam grip tape strips on the bottom of them. Works real well
I like gustavo graphics
And welcome to lo spollos hermanos
I think they are a bit expensive but I'll probably still get one if I see them in the shops in New Zealand hopefully they will make it over here 😃
Awesome video bro thank you for laying it out. Buy an Amazon complete buy good bushings and good wheels and send it.
I cut up extra foam grip into small squares and stick them on the bottom of all my obstacles. No movement.
Thanks I think I might get one now
can you make a video of you upgrading the parts, prices on the parts and why you chose those parts, like the grip, bushings, wheels, hardware etc
I ordered that board a few days ago.. im a noob 😂 so hopefully it will help me learn the basic tricks then ill upgrade.
Who do you recommend i order from bud? I live in Pittsburgh PA
Your my favourite youtuber
Is fingerboard out in stores yet
Amazon
Is it US only or something? Because all I can find is the performance series
I really wish tech deck sold just the decks.
The deck is 7 ply cos the red ply is 2 sheets
its not, the only reason people are thinking it is, is because of the amazon ad that is incorrect.
@@mmhmmlala no its not tech deck said it was a 7 ply deck
@@sean-michaeloriordan61985*
What's the best thickness for foam grip
It’s personal preference but I like .5 to 1.5mm. thicker is more durable and thinner has more board feel
@@stickyartfb thanx 👍
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are the decks a symmetrical??
No it has a slightly longer nose then tail
@@stickyartfb dang alright thank you

I ordered one, really wanted the zero graphic but it's not available yet
Where did you order a pro series?
Damn it’s currently unavailable
The grip is ridiculous lol
Woah

Definitely not worth $70 bucks no matter how you cut it. IMO
im laughing at all the kids that are gonna get fooled by this garbage when they could get some real brts and real dual duros
I mean the could… if they are looking to spent $200 on a fingerboard setup dual duros and brts run about $130 alone!
@stivkyartfingerboards I really want to get one of these because I lose zero I currently use a pee rep do you think it's worth it for $45?
