Very true for alot of the 80's 90's music in films personal experience grew up loving Mulan (because of Lea, Pinoy Pride) and reflection always made me emotional and when I saw the live action trailers I felt nothing until the Steings kicked in with the orchestral version of Reflection

@@feedswagpeppa3976 its genre is ballad for most of the songs, any Disney songs can be turned into pop songs, but they originally arent pop songs as they are used in the movies as musical like performance which needs a voice that is equal to musical voice to be able to perfect it in the movie, so none of the Disney songs were pop songs to start with

Celina0910 - They certainly made my childhood magical! My very first movie in a movie theatre was when I was four, with my Dad - we went to see The Little Mermaid. It was magic! I spent every night for a year afterward listening to my Little Mermaid soundtrack tape. I went to see the Lion Ling for my 8th birthday party (after a pizza party of course) and it was amazing. My first broadway musical was Beauty and the Beast. First Karaoke song? A whole new world from Aladdin with one of my besties. I think that era of Disney movies was unparalleled. I didn't add a new favorite to my list until Moana in 2016. I can't wait to show my kids all of those magical movies.

Fun fact: if you sing with the wrong technique you damage or at least change your voice long term.
The really good singers learned a proper singing technique that aims at improving and not damaging the singing voice. Many pop singers just learn enough to hit the notes and then do things their own way, with very mixed results.

    • @animehuntress9018

@@Katharina-rp7iq 2 years later and having met someone who sang professional rock... you're right on the money! I flat out asked them how they could sing after a concert let alone after years of recordings, sessions, and touring, and your answer was pretty much the same. They learned how to sound wild but professionally and often already had quirks to their voices. The only thing he added was reasonable rest times and never forgetting it was a muscle and so working to keep it in shape. He also noted that in his profession at least... staying away from the drugs and excessive alcohol and mixed drinks. It makes sense too. The ones who made the news such as Whitney Houston at the end her voice broke my heart.

Asians don't age. Herbal tea is the main staple and eat like nothing but rice and small portions. Built like birds. They're just lucky and they're geniuses

@@lindseydickey9282 Asians age too, while it's true that many asians do have a healthy lifestyle, you can't generalize that, also Asia is such a big continent, 4.5 billion humans live there, and they don't just only drink tea and eat rice and small portions every day. It's kinda racist to think like that. By the way, most professional musical singers live healthy because living unhealthy is unhealthy for the voice and their voice is their basic of work. I think she's just technically good and her voice is more stable and that is what saved her from vocal damage and aging.

Filipinos (and many other Asians) have fantastic genes that result in a more youthful body, even when they're in their sixties.
And you're right, some Asians don't eat small portions, but rice is still a huge staple. In terms of being Filipino though, 98% are just musically inclined. 😂 With that, they're more dedicated with maintaining healthy cords.

Realistic explanation; Salonga hasn't slacked off. Many of those singers whose voices have suffered over the years have gone years without proper vocal training. Her style of singing probably helps, too, as bad vocal habits ruin vocal cords.

Lea Salonga's voice is pure beauty. She sounds just as good or better now. And I have to give it to Peabo - he sounded great! Finally, this whole video makes me feel SO old. I can't believe it's been 30 years since The Little Mermaid came out.
