My dad saw my mom on a bus when she was 15. She was with her parents. He was 17 and with his friends. My dad said to his friends, “I’m going to marry that girl.” Three years later they met. He told her he saw her and described the bracelets she was wearing that day on the bus. They will be married 70 years in August. They still live in their home together. She’s 90 he’s 92.
Lisa, thank you for your family story. Its beautiful.
that is so heartwarming and lovely, thank you, best wishes to them
Wow, wow, wow! 💐Now THAT is a story of richness and power, all of the heart! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Thanks Lisa.......getting me all choked up, because it is so, so beautiful to hear! Please send them a shout-out from me, and God bless them! 😇
Wow. 💜
I LOVE to hear how people meet. It always seems the ones that say I'm going to marry that person or the longest marriages they do not get divorced
I can see the natural warmth and wit of his Dad shining through.
Two good men, real menches.
His Dad played a naval pilot, I think, in Hot Shots! He has a great line about taking a bazooka round at Little Big Horn. Hahaha!
Whoever took the picture at the end should get an award. That was a beautiful pic.
Jeff and his soul mate...how sweet.
sigh when would i ever have that moment
When your not expecting it 👍
Awesome anecdote, loved it! Jeff is the man! So sure these two are twin flames!
Does Jeff have house slippers on? That's very Dude of him.
Oh I love that movie! Jeff Bridges is the perfect dude.
marlene g My grandfather had a very similar pair!
Caught that too. They really need a rug to pull that room together, though. 🤘
Far Out Man “I can’t be worrying about that shit, life goes on, man.”
@Far Out Man actually Dude..the proper nomenclature is Asian American.
He will ALWAYS be “The Dude” to me! 🙀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thats simply beautiful. Thank you, gorgeous, for sharing. She has to be a dream.
He’s an amazing soul. Xx
That was..great...makes me miss my wife
Stephen Falk , me too.....47 yrs.
I know that feeling of having that moment when you realize you a falling in love with someone. I know that almost instant terrifying fear that also sets in. Luckily for Jeff it worked out in his favor. For me it didn't.
But in a way it was maybe for the best. My focus on what is the most valuable in life is changing. I'm choosing the people that actually care and matter to me. The rest I'm letting go off. I don't need or want them in my life.
They are also the ones that have problems. Not me. I was open and honest towards them. They took my kindness and good nature for granted. Treated me like shit. I'm leaving them behind now. Staying connected only to the truthful people. The rest will have to figure out their own shit.
If they ever want to reconnect they can do it through a mutual friend. But they will have to show a willingness to want to be a better person towards me. If not, I'm good. I live my own life now. And I choose the people I want in my life now.
Good for you. I too have had do this. It's a little lonely at times, but better this way.
@@megankazukibuttons9334 It most definitely is. Life is too short to waste it on people who don't care about your well-being.
It's a tough, but none the less super important life lesson.
In my experience you get better at cutting out the BS in your life as you get older, simply because you have more experience to draw on from the past, or because you experience some life changing moments that just makes it clear how short and precious life is. Therefor it also becomes crystal clear that these hurtful connections is just not worth your time.
So you let go in order to give yourself the ability to move on. Move on to a deeper and more meaningful existence.
Jeff could read the want ads and it would be entertaining. Great interview.
Love the way you interview your male guests about their wives
Jeff Bridges, George Peppard, James Brolin, Micheal Sarrazin, Christopher Lambert,-very well known actors that never made it to mega stardom.
I love their story and love!
Beautiful story! ♥
Thank you Sir! your AREA is FABULOUS!!!!! Sincerely P.S. Jeff looks like his FABULOUS DADDY LLOYD BRIDGES LOVE LOVE LOVE REAL NEWS REAL MEN i'm puddling UP watching this video, so HAPPY to have found your portal. %^) 888
Beautiful story .....☺️💕👍👏👏👏👏👏
Love is wonderful.
So, how did she get the black eyes?
Kool Story!
Wow 40yrs. Unfortunately there are no men like this in today's society. Divorce is so common😕
pfft. Unfortunately there are no women of that kind of quality in todays society. Divorce is +2/3rds of the time initiated by women.
@@LitoGeorge I dont know where you got that as researchers say that its often men who initiate divorces often after change in socioeconomics
@@arimax888 I'm not going to do your homework for you Maria. There's this thing called Google.
@@LitoGeorge I'll leave you to your homework!!
@@arimax888 pithy. My homework is complete, experienced in person and backed up by statistics from approximately 370 million people. Try do better than just using my response back at me by growing a backbone and join a conversation on an equal basis if you have the capability to. Otherwise, go play Barbie dolls and watch more Disney movies, or read your Mills and Boone crap.
Me and Jeff should produce our own movie, it would be great and yeah I guess we could invite Kris to join in , I can co write the script , etc , gee we are the same age and generation ,
🥰❤️🥰😍❤️🥰❤️😍❤️
I watched the video to see the picture! Ripoff!
Every time I watch him talk, I always wonder, what the heck is wrong with his tongue?
Why did she have a broken nose though? Lol
That’s funny, my wife recently found a photo of us together at the party where we met, 33 years and 2 daughters ago.
The way you said “33 years and 2 daughters ago” was beautiful. I’m 23 and can’t wait to say that about my future wife, whenever it may be, whoever she may be!
If he didn't show the photos, I was going to sue the entire world. Beautiful woman. You had no choice. :-)
I know; I panicked, too! :) I'm so glad they showed them!
I just looked up what Susan looks like today and my goodness I don’t think I’ve ever seen a woman age more beautifully. She’s a perfect 10.
I looked her up too, did you notice how in every photo they have the exact same hair color? It's like they are a perfect mirror of each other.
Pretty yes.. but a perfect 10? She's a beautiful woman and they have a beautiful story. Why not just leave it there?
@@patrickdewhurst3378 I really don't see the issue with calling her a perfect 10 lol
@@LordVader1094 If she is literally your ideal "perfect 10," then great. More power to you. If, however, she's a pretty older woman and we are trying to be polite because we thought it was a really sweet story... Well, saying she is a perfect 10 is patronizing. It's like when a celebrity does something nice and people jump on saying things like, "I be they are the nicest people ever! I would love to get coffee with them every day and be their best friend. It just comes across as overly odd.
But seriously, if she's your perfect 10, then great. I don't have any issue with that either.
Love keeps you young.
Wonderful! How not to love this man!? Such a wonderful storyteller and so inspiring! :)
I thought my husband was in touch with each aspect of his emotions...but, Jeff takes the cake! Very raw, honest, insightful truths. Always listen to the whispers.
Married for over 40 years. Damn.
I could listen to Jeff for hours. He seems like such a cool dude to have a cup of coffee and talk with
Someone should direct a movie without script and Jeff Bridges as the only actor improvising for two hours.
YES!
Thats just the full interview here
@@alex0589 Ok, but I want to watch it on the big screen.
I’m on board with this
Funnysterste you can increase your screen size or buy a bigger tv. Lol.
Jeff Bridges should be the uncle who should be at every Thanksgiving dinner because we know he got the best stories.
I fell in love with my wife on first sight. Could think of nothing else.
I saw my husband and knew immediately he was for me even though I was quite the wild child. Somehow I knew we would be married, my mom said I’ll believe it when I see it. It took several years to get married but Its been almost 38 years together. When we know, we know. 💕. I just love Jeff Bridges.
Wow. That was great. Thanks for sharing that with us, Sam; it was really special. My wife is a year older than I and we were friends in high school (I moved from a "big" school to a really small town (graduating class was only 53)). After a number of years, we happened to bump into each other at a local grocery store (I still lived in that small town through college). She was visiting her mother and I happened to see her on the sidewalk. I walked up to her and looked in the eye to say, "Hello." Well, that whole line about butterflies in the stomach is TRUE! I thought my insides were going to spill out on the sidewalk! I had to look away but she kept trying to make eye contact because she felt it, too. And every time our eyes met, butterflies! We've now been married 31 years. Have a great rest of your week and thanks, again, for sharing that. It was a beautiful story.
Thank u for sharing your beautiful love story ✍🏻❤️
Been there... And I think only those of us who have believe it's actually possible
That's an amazing story. It reminds me of a mine a little. Went to high school with a girl I thought was really awesome and beautiful but I was too awkward and shy to do much about it. Randomly saw her name online 18 years later, and decided to tell her I thought she was cool in high school, thinking she probably couldn't remember me. But she could. We started talking, and it was butterflies right away. It's been several years since, and she gets more beautiful and more interesting and more amazing every day.
That's a good story,@@jeppefrolund1718! Thank you for sharing it.
Jeff Bridges has always been one of my favorite actors ! His soul is beautiful ! I wish him and his family love and happiness all the days of their lives ! And more luck then they will need🍀 ( that line is from a Jimmy Buffett song )
That was so beautiful. I feel way too much sometimes..
what a great storyteller.
Fairytales don’t always come true, but, every now and then they do. Congratulations Jeff and Susan Bridges.
I need a Jeff Bridges in my life
I know right.
WOW. Great story. My husband and I knew the minute we met and looked at each other. It's going on 30 years now and we are still best friends and soul mates. Love at first sight does exist.
My oldest brother looks just like Jeff. It's uncanny. When he goes on vacation he's been mistaken for Jeff sometimes. My brother is 6ft and Jeff would be 6ft 1inch.
i have loved that family all my life, i'm fans of his, and his brother and father as they are all damn fine actors, i also love hearing stories about this when you hear a guy that really adores his wife, though Colbert is the same way you don't often hear enough guys speak like this about their wife and it's nice to hear it. but wow pictures of the first words they ever spoke to one another
Wow. What an amazing and sweet story! You simply can’t write it better than that.
He’s so transparent, so real. Reminds me of my husband.
I love this guy, zen legend.
The Dude abides 🙏👍🧜♀️🤸♀️🤙✌️
The only thing i picture me, when he's sitting there talking is, The Dude.
First I want to note that I'm upset. I wanted to marry him!
Second, he's such a mesmerizing man. So aware and courageous, wise and artistic.
Love the interview
Thank you for highlighting a happy and beautiful Hollywood marriage rather than a scandalous marriage. There are actually lots of wonderful celebrity couples but they seem to get overlooked by the 5 minute marriages
Jeff Bridges and Kris Kristofferson should play each other in a movie.
Fartein Jonassen #greatness!
Hahaha! Brilliant suggestion!
He said something about her having two black eyes and a broken nose, yet interviewer doesn’t think this requires elaboration or explanation..😁
for the movie.
no HE had black eyes
Charlotte Vale Wrong, she had the injuries. She had been in a car accident.
winebox Yes, he specifically says that her beauty was highlighted by these deterrents.
@@i.e.presents638 I tried to link an article from Readers Digest but had a hard time copying the link.
Such a good story of meeting love of his life. Susan has to be extraordinary woman to keep him home for 46 years.
Perfect match.
He should do a one man show in small regional theaters.
I'm so glad I'm out of the dating world. Have never been someone to shack up. Lots of people do it, most guys expect sex withut marriage. Other people are okay with it. It's not for me.
I wonder if I ever got like Jeff bridges would I come to a interview with slippers on without socks...

Love that movie Against All Odds. And last night just watched Jagged Edge . 😊
I am absolutely captivated by every word he says. What an incredible man!
He skipped the part that he had not married her yet and she was getting antsy about it like when is it going to ask me to marry him. She went to his mother and told her she was just so fed up with it and his own mother told they're leave him. She did , she left him and it wasn't very long after that that they ended up getting married
Having enough money to buy a house at 26. That must feel nice.
It’s not as hard as you think. Lol
Awwww she's so pretty in that pic.
He adores her :)
Jeff Bridges is such a legend in the truest sense of the word
Loved his love story and the fact that he dared to talk about a very intangible but also a very human feeling as well: destiny taking over your actions and the shock it brings to your body and mind :)
Legend stay strong stay safe everyone stay strong stay safe sending love from UK takecare xxx
Something we all aspire for .. 💞
Jeff Bridges is so real. Love his emotions are shown .. Rare. But I love it .. He indeed has a beautiful wife love can speak in our hearts .. It did for Jeff
What a wise man! Bravo Jeff. Bless you and your Susan.✌
PROTECT THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?
Ummm. NO. Hahahahaha! Who says NO to Jeff Bridges?!? That was awesome ❤️
Thank you.
Have always loved this guy!!!
Lovely man. Love his films. Thunderbolt. And lightning. Was great film.
The slippers. The Dude. 👍🌺
Why did she have the black eyes? She's aged really well, still looks great in all the photos I could find.
I love him. That generation of men seems to just have something special, don't they? Mr. Bridges, Sam Elliott, Tom Selleck, they just seem really unaffected by Hollywood's trappings.
It doesn’t matter Why she had the Black eyes, cause it possibly aroused Jeff’s natural protective instincts or maybe not.. The Dude abides
I'm so glad I see this! 😍😍😍
I love that he shared his story. So beautiful!
Very charming. Shame it doesnt go so well for all, eg. actor Depp whose first marriage remains friendship, but the 2nd & possibly last, was to admitted domestic violence abuser.
$$$$Jackpot$$$$
Where are the snapshots? Disappointing
He’s one amazing man propelled by an amazing woman..
Love this. Good on you, Jeff Bridges! Great story.
that is amazing!
Lovely story, thank you for sharing it!
a charming beautiful soul..love you jeff!
Beautiful, honest, narrative.
Damn. That was a great story!
Wow! what a story - and the first moment caught on film. Meant to be. On a side note, I kept seeing the facial expressions of Kris Kristopherson in Mr. Bridges and his beard (probably just me).
Gorgeous guy, gorgeous family ❣️

Hahaha I can't help but think he's one lucky Dude
Man imagine turning down Jeff bridges
I. Love. Jeff Bridges.
