Wow. love how you break things down so that it can all be clearly understood and applied. The few neo-soul channels I've found only leave me frustrated and annoyed as they quickly skim through the lessons leaving me with more questions then answers. Finally I'm picking up on this style I been wanting so bad to learn. Thank you for that.
Starting every phrase on the Downbeat is another pet peeve. Or not thinking about phrasing at all. I also like to steal rhythms from well known songs like Jingle Bells or TV themes etc. but change the notes. In the Jazz idiom it is common and often humorous to quote another song during a solo, like "Shave and a Haircut"! I find this type of limited practice routine forces you (in a good way) to focus on playing melodiclly and also phrasing. You can treat it like a game or make a list of songs to steal the rhythm from. 🎸🔥 Keep it Nasty! 😁
One more great video ! Do you plan to make a new book with this kind of good stuff ? Like the first one (which is very simple and good to understand the neosoul mechanics).
This really is the best guitar channel by far. All killer, no filler.
i wanna be the Jason Vorhese of RUclips Teacher 🔪

this is all I needed and so much more, thank you my guy, should change your name from 'Nasty Soul' to 'Generous Spirit' haha
hahah! 🙏🙏🙏
@@NastySoulGuitarLessons your lick tutorials are wicked bro, you do anything for someone that doesn't use a pick that much?
Nasty. Thank you
danke.
Why do you use your thumb for the low E string, and don't use the index for Barré?
By the way: Great video!
By using your Thumb, you have more options, particularly can use your pinky for little soul moves.
I know I ended up in the right channel when it pointed out EXACTLY how wrong I've been practicing!
