It's hard to understand why this is labeled Rhythmic Gymnastics while Artistic Gymnastics is the sport showcasing all of the Vaults, Tumbling, Power Tumbling, Beam and Bars. I wouldn't necessarily consider that "Rhythmic Gymnastics" but I would re-label RG "Artistic Gymnastics" in a heartbeat.
(I have no clue as to whether or not people will understand what the Hell it is I'm saying, lol).
I believe I would rather call Artistic Gymnastics, "Power Gymnastics" or "Stunt Gymnastics," while reserving "Artistic Gymnastics" for the beautiful, graceful and fluid RGs.
The ladies of AG come barreling towards you from across the floor mat like a Mack Truck. Their bodies are very lean, very muscular, with next to NO body fat. The stunts and tumbling they showcase requires a percent of muscle that RG does not. It takes A LOT of power to throw themselves through the air, and to gain the momentum necessary to succeed in the use of their apparatuses.
So much discipline, control and skill to achieve the level of perfection that they attempt to reach, AND bypass even (in BOTH areas). Immense strength is required in the AG area more so than in RG, while RG focuses more on controlling your skills while appearing to have perfectly aesthetics lines and grace of a God. It's difficult to achieve the lines and angles that are so beautifully fluid if you have legs with 20-40% more muscle bulging out than if you had thinner, dancer-like arms and legs. You can hardly tell where a RG's arms end and legs begin, and that is what makes those graceful lines of the body, possible.

In Russia "rhythmic gymnastics" is called "artistic gymnastics" and what is "artistic gymnastics" is called "sportive gymnastics".

As melhores ginastas rítmicas do mundo nos últimos anos, sem dúvida, são as irmãs Arina e Dina Averins. Sou um grande admirador das ginastas russas. Deixe seu like!
