This Kick is more worth than whole kicking lessons of other styles

Thanks Sifu for this video, this helped confirm my understanding that the standard WC kick has nothing to do with "up, then down", and instead comes straight from the ground up. I like that you linked this to the critical concept of economy of motion.

minor point.. hate to point out things but you are in-fact lifting the knee first then shooting out the foot despite saying very clearly that's not the idea.. the only difference when directed at your student is rather than lift the knee high as in a regular teep style kick you lift the knee short of a regular hight before shooting the foot.
shooting the foot out is very traditional wing chun style from my understanding and a great stopping /stuttering tool but to lift the knee a few cm higher wont interfere really with delivery time but adds solid stopping/hurting power and allows for greater choice of targets. I wonder if your subconscious knowing this is forcing you to lift your knee first even though your words say you wont do so.
sorry for picking but its too blatantly clear whats going on. especially on re-watching the clip with no volume so as not to be disillusioned by words.
Anyway love your content, keep up the good work.

@barimbo omg u just see the "snap" cuz he withdraws the leg quickly... that is no snap kick, its just pure and direct defense

Why not demonstrate the mechanics of the kick slowly?

@deaner18 As he says there are different types of kicking. Does it matter if its straight or diagonal if it hits its target? Think of the triangle. Also not much above the waist personally, let your hands do that.

Thank you for the video, but I still doubt that this is a better way of kicking than first bringing the knee up. If you kick directly from the ground it is more likely that your opponent will sweep it away. If you bring your knee first up and then strike forward (and sort of down using your hip forward motion) you are more likely to go above any chi gerk or any sweep of your opponent.

@chineseeyes2006 if you think martial arts didnt exist before the shaolin temple you are mistaken, the origins of chinese martial arts are shrouded in mystery, there is no defininite answer as to where they came from, people have been fighting using fists, kicks grappling, since the begining of time, i think people need to take a step back sometimes and think about what martial arts actually means, martial beens military, therefore martial arts means arts of war, no nonsence, applied fighting!

And every time i see a martial art video there are complaints, dickmeasuring about different arts and all kind of irrelevant bullshit from all kind of keyboard masters.
What we never see is some actual video from these masters proving they know better.
When you call people clowns make sure youre not doing the same thing.
