    SEA LEVEL. I live at sea level with full exhaust and air box mod. I had to use 160 on the main.

      had an 165 on 1000feet, sparkplug is black, switched today to 160.

    Turn your accelerator pump nozzle so the stream hits the needle. That will help break up the fuel for a better mixture. I mastered these carburetors when I was running them on GSXR 1100’s back in the day :)

      How do you rotate it? Just grab it with pliers? I've got an E model DRZ with a 24 year old FCR in it. Thinking about replacing it with one of these Chinese FCRs sicne my original is kinda crusty and has given me trouble of the years. Though it does run ok at the moment.

    What I like is that there are minimal hoses, fuel, I guess you can add a res overflow and the idle screw is not technically a hose at all!

    Hey man, hope this reaches you since it’s an old vid. Just ordered the fcr myself, was wondering what diameter fuel hose ended up working for you as I’m going to swap the petcock aswell. Love your vids, you’ve probably saved thousands of dudes from scrolling through thumpertalk for hours lol. Thanks for all that you do!

    nice !!!! thats not a bad price for the flatslides. there frickn awesome only problems i ever seen with them is if the biromantic pressure changes is could make it run different till you re jet for the change . at least on say a gsxr 1100, style bike . (inline 4 )

      It’s just a intake boot from a DRZ E model. A piece of rubber hose will work just fine. You don’t need the link. Just more convenient that picking up a radiator hose at the auto parts store. Thanks for watching!

      3rd position from the top is pretty standard. Mine is at 3rd as well.

    I have a slant fcr39 and just put a jd kit in and having a bad time getting bike to idle properly. I’m using a 45/162 and blue needle at 4th clip. Hmmmm

    Hey folks, question, if i plan to just use ny stock exhaust, would it still be worthwhile to install and fcr39 carb? Or should i just make do with the stock carb instead?

    Im running the carb off of the series drz on a street legal, rips pretty good. Would i get more hp with this carb? Does it destroy mpg?

      @@dragonhoard9371 nah. The DRZ E model already has a 39mm carb! I would def keep that one on there if you already have it.

      It was a boot for a DRZ E model carb.
      You don’t need it. You can just use a 2 inch section or radiator hose or something. No worries.

    So my DRZ has been losing power for a second in the woods at low rpms with this carb like its staved for fuel for a bit right at the bottom of the rev range, otherwise runs great idles great. Do you think I need to adjust the accelerator pump of rejet? Its got the factory jets same Kipa carb that you have there. I was hoping your were to going to show us how to adjust the pump but you just showed us that yours is great and moved on. So basically should i rejet the pilot to remedy my problem or figure out how to adjust the pump?

    Hey man what are the 2 jets on the red adapter side, I have the same pump and was wondering how many turns out you run the jet on the left under the red adapter,

      I think those are the pilot and main air jets. I didn’t touch them. I could be wrong. But I think that is what they are.

      021-216 at jets r us you will see why when you look at the adapter

      You need the aluminum air box adapter because it uses a o-ring seal against the carb body and keeps both air jets out of the elements. There around $35-$50 but well worth the money.

      No sir. OEM Carb Factory pilot was a 22.5. Replaced with 25
      Factory Main was 140. Replaced with 170.

      @@linksgarage1985 Maybe I said that wrong. I know you had rejetted your factory carb with the JD jetting kit. Just wondering where you came up with which jets to install. Was it the same as you had rejetted your other carb or did you have another guide that you followed?

      @@linksgarage1985 where did you find the jd jetting recommendations. I looked on their website and couldn’t find it. I have the same FCR slant clone carb for my DRZ. I did the 3x3 but am keeping the stock exhaust so I’m trying to see where to start jetting wise.

      @@Bick5402 - you have to dig around. And with the larger carb and airbox opened up, but no exhaust, I’m thinking it may run funny. Fuel and air, but no way for it all to escape quick enough. Best of luck!

    Hi bro im having a problem with my fcr carb i have a 254cc why is it so rich i have the fuel screw ¼ turn a 46 slow jet and a 125 main jet but its still pig rich with my pwk flat slide im running a 38 slow jet and a 170 main jet can you please let me know what im doing wrong its a brand new china 35mm fcr looks just like the one your using
