I think my meat was too big. The owners manual says not to freeeze it. But I’m thinking like you, it might be easier to slightly freeze it. I like it though. The 2mm slices made better jerky than the 4mm slices. This is going to be a fun slicer to use. 😁👍
I ordered one of these, looks just like yours but I didn't get a brush. I made jerky yesterday with a hunk of London broil, it did a great job! And I ended up with just one band-aid, It was a good day LOL Thanks for your review
I know right. Man I don’t know how I didn’t slice my hand open making this video. Those blades are stupid sharp lol. But man I love how perfectly it sliced the meat.
I'm sold. One of the things that has prevented me from making jerky at home is the hand slicing involved. I have far too many scars to prove it. Now, it's gonna be no issue at all. Thank you!!
Vevor makes a great meat slicer and they are affordable. I have had mine for a couple of years and it does a fantastic job of slicing my jerky meat. Also like to buy deli meat and slice it myself so I can cut it how I like it.
I used a London broil roast last time, and I bought it at Meijer, and had the butcher at the store cut it into 1/4" slices, and they do it for no charge.
looked good, I'd say if you can find a way to use some kind of pan spray or cooking oil to lube up the blade it might cut a lot easer? Edit: for the 2mm Food for thought
Works pretty good for small batch needs. Seems to be worth its price until you need to sharpen it. Honing is one thing, at some point they'll need sharpening. I bit the bullet and bought a semi professional electric unit ( 200#/hr) for about $240. Like your tool those (rotary) blades are SCARY sharp! I had to butterfly my fingertip for a week.
I think if the meat was slightly frozen, and the slicer was fixed to the counter instead of a baking sheet so it doesn't slide around it would be even easier. The precision of the slices would make consistency so much better, I'd say it's a a cautionary success. Maybe wear one of the knife resistant gloves though.
I’m glad you got the idea. I appreciate the feedback. Good call on the cut resistance gloves. I like this slicer but it’s very sharp. I don’t even want to imagine 17 blades 2mm apart going across my hand. Woo wee that’d be bad
Thanks for the video. I will be getting one and going 4mil for my biltong. You might think in terms of how to vice mount it to a bucher block or counter top. That would certainly be a nice uograde if they were to offer a deluxe version. That and longer blades so you could do longer strokes. Regardless, this looks like it eill be fun
COOL VID... perhaps on the 2mm you may have been forcing the blade instead of letting the edge of the blade do the work... or maybe a bit more honing to tune the edge might help. I'm like you, I prefer the thinner slices. If the sides of the blades were coated non-stik it could have been a dream.
My idea for the the knife slicer is use it to cut vegetables like potatoes, carrots, turnip I'm just thinking of other the usage for that item and if it works it works. It's not a useless item after all
I;m thinking that freezing the meat to just half frozen that it would slice even better. Same rule of thumb as the method of grinding hamburger/sausage meat in a meat grinder.
I bought one and am still waiting to receive it for two months . Received an email from the company they said they were going to send me another one It has been two weeks since that email and still no package
5 mm for Spam-Baon and Japanese Sizes for Stir Fry. Shredded Lettuce, Carrots and Onions too please 🤣 . Answer is Sold ^____^. . . . Now all we need Is A Cheese Shredder 👍🏻
Just another gadget with one use, waste of money and take up space. Meat slicer can cut cheese also. I buy eye of round, trim, partially freeze, slice, season, dehydrate. Slicer is easier to clean.
It is a great tool, especially for jerky. It’s always good to have other options if you have the room for the gadgets 😁 You are right though, a deli slicer like you’re talking about, is very versatile. And worth having around.
It really does look like cheap Chinese crap. I thought the same thing. I’m glad I gave it a shot though. I like it a lot but it’s super sharp so ya gotta be careful with this one.

I agree with you I was thinking the same thing
@@God-z7cyou think his meat is too big? Lol, jk. Couldn’t pass that up. But definitely need to partially freeze it.
Half frozen beef is a no brainer no matter what that manual sez.
I was going to suggest a touch of (veg, sesame, olive,) oil.
Looks like alot of fun to clean.

It’s sharp ain’t it. I’m glad you liked it. It’s a game changer vs just freehand with a knife.
Cool slicer Van! Cool bandaids too👍

@YarnellCrew Excellent idea 💡
EXCELLENT VIDEO as always Van....
Great price on this meat slicer... $40.
Thanks for sharing another great video
Thanks. I got this one for $20 on Walmarts website on clearance.
Good product!
I’m glad you like it too.
Thanks for the review, I think I’ll be getting on. For the money I’m not afraid to give it a shot.
I like it. But it’s really sharp. Be careful. It’s a game changer for sure.

Ive been puttin off makin jerky all year, this looks like a game changer, definitely gonna get one of these for deer jerky.

Can this be used to slice cooked boneless skinless chicken and turkey? Or tomatoes and onions?
Great video man. Sorry about your digits! haha I usually make jerky from ground, but might have to try this out.
It will definitely get you jerky in 3 hours with the 2mm slices. 😁
Yeah that sucked when I cut my fingers lol

Chill the meat to near frozen. Slicing is much easier and cleaner

I’ve been wanting the vevor 3.5 mm meat slicer. Is that the one you have?
@@VansWorld no......mine you drop a chunk of meat in the throat (5" wide) and1/4" slices drop out the bottom in about 4 seconds.
Definitely would try a smaller piece of meat with the 2 mill.
Thank you
No problem. I like this little slicer. You do have to be careful. This thing is very sharp
Pepper steak calling my name, i am getting one.😂. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy

Hi Van, i know its been a minute, it looks like an idea the life of it will show. Maybe do a relook at it in six months or so.

Does the slicer have suction on the bottom? If you stuck it directly to the counter it wouldnt be such a struggle holding onto the slippery tray.
It does have a suction on the bottom. I was out in my building out back. I don’t have real counter tops out there.
Looks interesting do you think it would work for slicing pepperoni sticks? 18 2mm pepperoni slices would be nice.
It says it’s not meant for cooked meats or hard vegetables.

I think I was forcing it. Plus it jumped over one of the grooves. I really like it though. Gotta be careful with this one though. It’s super sharp.
Stick it on a countertop rather than a cutting board. I bet it works just fine.
I bet it would too. I wish it would have stuck to my wood countertop
Maybe giving the meat a slight freeze would help ease the slicing.
Next make a video on how you dehydrate jerky in 3 hrs
Ok. I will. Sounds like a good video to make for y’all.
Meat market will slice it perfectly whatever thickness you want
That’s true.

Dang. That’s a bummer.
If you had it stuck to a solid table and used two hands I think it would be awesome
Your right. At least on a good countertop. I’m looking forward to using this slicer again.
@@VansWorld sleighly frozen works best
I looked for your jerky to buy online and couldn't find it.
I don’t make it to sell anymore. I don’t have the time. Thanks for looking though. 😁👍
Are you on rumble sir?
I am
Maybe freeze the meat a little . It might cut easier.
Maybe on a solid surface to hold it steady?!

Maybe easier if meat is a little frozen?
couple of c clamps and you'll be golden!
The 2mm has more blades so it will be more difficult to cut 🤔
True
I was wondering if I can use it to cut my little sister’s hair. She hates to get her haircut. I’ll probably do it while she’s asleep.😮
probably works better with partially frozen meat.
First thought except for hardening the meat in the freezer this would work perfect for plates like Korean bulgogi slices
Sure would
@ thanks for showing this except for the wait you just made my slicing job 100 times easier with the way we prep the meat for meal prepping
Maybe it would be easier if it was half frozen? Asking for a friend.
It might. 😁👍😉
chill your blades
I bet you could use that to make bacon too
I bet so too.

That’s true. There are a lot of options out there.
it would be easier if you have attached it directly on the sink not on the tray.
I was out in my backyard office filming. You’re right though. If I had regular counter top out there it would have worked better
Thanks for testing it. I think I'll pass on this gadget.
It’s ok if it’s not for you. I love it though. 😂
Nope not buying it
