How wonderful it is to have these conversations available to anyone at any time. Hopefully more people take advantage of these types of talks.
Two of my favorite authors....what a gem.
Thank you for uploading this.
I love the book of their letters.
It’s like listening in to a warm conversation between two old, dear friends.
Their letter exchange is published and it’s a goldmine of wisdom when it comes to long distant friendship without smartphones.
Wendell: Leave something for the future... which doesn't exist, either!
Gary: We don't know!
Jack: Reminds me of the saying... The last day of your life is just like any other only shorter.

Wonderful ... Gary Snyder ....
What a great couple of guys to get together. Seems that Gary talks about 3 times more than Wendell, which seems appropriate. I have been reading a lot of Wendell and I think I may need to pick up a few more of Gary Snyder’s books. I think Wendell is more my speed but really annoyed the discourse.
Would it be fair to say that both men have the same concerns but approach it from very different perspectives, travelling different paths?
i'd say so. but who am i to say anyway?
beautiful. gary of course being 'Japhy Ryder' in kerouac's 'dharma bums'
