    I was thinking of black shark 5 SD870 because everyone is saying it’s more stable, but I just saw a CPU stress test that showed the BS5 throttle to 75% after 30mins, so I figure I will get 7pro instead. I just wish the turbo fan was designed like Asus Rog phones with a type C connection on the side.

      I've used red magic phones for years now and theme is consistent software support is few and far apart performance stays top notch throughout the lifetime of the phone and customizations although few still provide us a good option for third-party applications launchers and things like that. I like what they're doing and I hope that the Next generation provides us even stronger cooling solutions for more powerful processors

    I wish Samsung would have made the user able to switch the throttle on or off for my S22 Ultra. I loved the way in t ran when it was still throttled in certain games. Some games just overwhelm the system like any other phone it can happen. I'd rather it ran smoother and cooler and easier on battery and lose a few frame rates and still play smoother for longer.

    • @TKBay
      @TKBay  2 года назад +2

      Absolutely, the RM7 can run a lot cooler if set to 60fps on the display and it can handle long gaming sessions as well. It's just we usually don't get to control the experience on most phones like you mentioned and it would be nice for them to give us the option to run the system the way we want sometimes.

    • @soul-the_argonaut5211
      @soul-the_argonaut5211 2 года назад

      There is a way to switch it off, and eat your battery up in no time- simultaneously.
      BUT- logically, and mechanically speaking: any mechanical or digital system runs better under warm-hot conditions. Any system utilizing electricity to run is going to produce heat via exothermic reactions.
      a device this small can't be perfectly cool or at optimal temp while running at max performance. it's impossible.
      This isn't something we should be complaining about if we actually understand what's going on... its literally logical.
      if a phone ran at 30°C no matter what you did with it, I'd be very concerned...

    it's the fault of the snapdragon gen 1 . This soc made by samsung isn't power efficient .The snapdragon gen 1+ made by TSMC gets the same performance with 30% less power . Which means 30% less heat . Even if it's the fault of the SOC i think nubia should have done better . It's not a viable solution to daily game for 1 to 2h at 54°c . If it burns your hands you can be pretty sure that the battery will suffer too . In electronics there is a common law which says for each +10°c a componement lose half of his life expectancy . And i experienced this with my mi11's motherboard that stopped to work after 8months of genshin impact (it was on warranty so they repaced the motherboard for free, but you get the point ) . Maybe the redmagic 7S with the TSMC SOC will have more reasonable thermals .

    I've seen the red magic 7 pro is slightly more stable in terms of performance

    • @djkivler1916
      @djkivler1916 2 года назад +1

      It has another chipset which is the red core 1 which also helps in cooling the system. Moreover, it has 9.0 ice cooling system whereas redmagic 7 only have 8.0.. this is why it is more stable in long term performance. However, i guess it wouldnt matter that much because most of the people who buy these gaming phones also buy cooling fans. So the the 7 could also have the stability that 7 pro gives if it has the help of a cooling fan.
      Getting a cooling fan would be much recommended for hardcore gamers. but like me who only plays few hours a day without stressing the phone, the built-in fan does its job. I bought the pulsar edition 4 days ago and performs very well.
