Hello Donna! I just found your RUclips channel. It's a first but it will be far from the last. I come from an Origami love and found what you are doing. God it makes me happy! I live in Quebec Canada and will not be able to find all that it takes to start but I will be shopping a lot on the Web and in stores to find similar stuff. Thanks for sharing your passion and have a good day! Danielle
Hello Dany welcome to my channel I think you will love this as a additive craft to your origami!! both are so rewarding to create. I know what you mean by hard to come by stuff bc im in the bush in australia we have no craft shops i have to travel or buy on line as well! so making junk journals is easier bc we can use what we have!! TᕼᗩᑎKᔕ ᗩ ᒪOT and see you on the next video ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
you could draw the lines if you have a marker that doesn't bleed, the copics I used bleed so i used them in a lighter colour, i'm gonna experiment. but I agree with you the teabag veins look amazing (❁´◡`❁) 🦋 hugs Donna
Great ideas! The only thing I'd change is dying the strings as well. I drink a cup of tea every morning and it makes me happy to be able to upcycle everything from the paper wrapper to the tea bag - and the tea leaves if it's gardening season.
OK, doing the veins like that is totally OCD and crazy,....YEP,...I'm going to do it immediately!! Haha! But its fantastic to know I'm not alone in the tedious details I love to do!! Frankly,...I think its GENIUS! Best video I've seen recently!! Decided to subscribe right away to your channel. Oh, I'm already a subbie to your channel. Figures. Thx for a fantastic idea and I love, love, love your "Tea Leaves"! Just brilliant. Your talents are not wasted on me!! Thx for video. Austin,TX USA
mon plaisir Sandrine, les fleurs et les plantes sont toujours belles dans nos journaux alors nous pouvons maintenant les embellir avec quelques feuilles câlins Donna
I love your videos, Donna. These are such wonderful ways to use tea bags. I love all of them. The way you even used the dark edge you get for the veins in the leaves & those little pockets are just so darn cute - love all of it. Thank you again!!
Thank you so much Jen! they are so fun to make to no pressure creating! the dark veins worked so well oh and so did the gold it looks so good in real life (❁´◡`❁) 🦋 hugs Donna
Thank you so much Donna, I really really enjoyed watching you create those stunning and gorgeous leaves from teabags......I’ve never ever seen anything like this before, and I really really love ❤️ those little pockets too. I’m going to make some of those leaves 🍁. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Gday Mags! nice to catch up ♥︎ i had so much fun making these and put some in my journal today, they go on so many pages i done my little hapy dance lol I know when you make yours you'll love them!! (❁´◡`❁) 🦋 hugs Donna
Oh Donna these are brilliant! I cracked up with the “ gold leaf tea leaf “ ! I can’t wait to make some tea leaves and tea bag pockets ! Thank you ! I’m so glad you are back !!! 🦋
Hi, Donna! I've missed you! When drying the tea bags in the oven, do you put them straight on a cookie sheet or on parchment/baking paper? Can't wait to try this!
Hi Hilda, oh thank you!! xx I semi dry the bags first then line my tray with baking paper, that way i get to use the stained baking paper as well! if you think they are taking too long to dry take the tea out half way through drying, I get the best results from long drying and leaving tea in the bags to evaporate and give that nice dark colour. that's why i leave the wet tea bags overnight first then, pop them in the oven to finish drying. if it's summer it's quicker if it's winter it seems to take for ever to dry lol if this technique fails just dry the tea bags then put some pools of dark (strong) tea on after they are dry then put them in the oven, like a second coat of colour! ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
For the flower embellishment, why couldn't hot glue be used? Would it affect the lower level of the tea bag pocket? I am new to this tea bag stuff and am LOVING it !!!
awesome it is a fun craft! yes hot glue (as would wet glue) would go right through to the lower and glue it closed, but you could put a piece of non stick cooking paper inside the pocket and use a small amount
@@JunkJournalideas Yeah, I thought the hot or wet glue would disturb stuff, but I like your idea of cooking paper. Those little dots for me are way too fussy! I like quite and easy! LOL G'day!
@@sherryroberts7716 another tip: you can also use a sylicone spatula to flatten the hot glue after you place the leaves on...while it's still warm, so it doesnt stay like little raised dots
@@JunkJournalideas Aren't the embellishments realm just endless! I'm not a tea drinker per se (although I DO love a strong Earl Grey), but I am busy boiling up stuff so I can do what you do!! I haven't seen your approach on other channels. I have a very giant backyard replete with MANY varieties of bushes and trees (5 euc species native to Australia!!) and I love water color art. I love your idea of clipping a leaf of something that grows in your yard! When I travel, I collect water from the local water source, then go home and paint a scene from my travels. Thanks for the great ideas!
@@sherryroberts7716 oh your yard sounds beautiful! I have many tree's and wouldnt have a clue what they are, i know there gums but don't know which ones lol. i love water color as well it's a shame were so far apart!! I love to share idea's so you're welcome x

At first I thought you drew the lines on the first leaf. I am amazed at the work and detail on all of the leaves.
