Fascinating stuff! You're welcome to our backyard anytime! I'd take that to a mom-and-pop jeweler and ask if they can identify the metal, the stone, and the age based on design.
Thank you! I might have to take you up on that sometime! Lots of history up your way! I plan to take it to a local jeweler to see about the stone, but I'm 99% sure the metal is silver plated brass. That was pretty common in the 1800's since money was scarce in this area. That also leads me to believe that the stone isn't a diamond, otherwise I think the metal would be real gold or silver if they could afford a diamond. I once found a Civil War era men's wedding band stamped with "18K" but it was brass.
Just think about any random property anywhere in the country. Then think about an area 500-1,000 sq feet in size and all of the activity in a 45 year span of time. Small sheds, old stores, houses, barns, outhouses, old rusty cars, schools and factories - then someone sells the property and bulldozes everything. It's fun to think about. A lot can happen in 45 years! My Mother will soon be 95, wow! ❤ 😂 Happy hunting!
Yes that’s interesting to think about! I found the ring a good distance from the homesite, but the actual house was torn down in the 1950’s. I’ve found items dating all the way back to the 1750’s where the house stood! A lot of “living” was taking place on that little spot! Thank you, and that’s pretty impressive about your mom!
@@reliclife I'm so ready to get back to digging. I've been away too long... it's so bad that I had to go back to our facebook page and reminisce on previous finds.
At 1:50 minutes, unknown roundels. I found the same ones, but in my case, they were buttons on the back there was a trace of broken ears. Hello from Russia.🤘

Great hunt like the ring
Thank you. It was a memorable one for sure!
Great find!!
Thank you! Its one of my favorite!
Awesome as always. Got to love that easy digging dirt!!! Nice shovel too. I yet to find dirt soft enough to use mine.
Thanks man, and I've got a feeling you'll be using your shovel sooner than later. Come January, we'll be back over by the river!

Hello, and welcome! Thank you! Perhaps mine is a button as well, but I’m starting to lean towards a wheel from a toy car. Still researching though.
