    This video deserves 100 comments. First off, I love these PCH guitars. I have five students who own them as I believe in Eastman so much, and always recommend them for a beginner or intermediate acoustic. I have another 4 students who have E1 OMs or Ds’, as well. You guys do a great job showcasing what Eastman has to offer in this range, and deserve more recognition for it. Great video!

    I bought an Eastman PCH3-GACE because, for obvious reasons, I didn't want to play my Eastman DT30-GACE out. For one, they don't even make double tops anymore. Playability is identical so no big shock switching from my play-at-home guitar to playing out guitar. Double top tone is lush. PCH tone is very nice. Is the difference worth the extra couple thousand? Yes. You can play either guitar gently and get great resonance and you can play either hard and the tone stays clear. The big shock for me was how much the PCH3 sounds like a solid wood guitar. The tone is open with great sustain, not as compressed as Yamaha laminate guitars in the same price range. I like Yamahas and still own a Japanese 1972 FG150. The reason I searched out this video was to compare the PCH1 to the PCH3 because I like the PCH3 so much, I've been thinking maybe I should get a PCH1-GACE to play out...

    That old distressed look is gorgeous. Smooth tones. This video helped convince me to buy it.

    Great Informative video. I believe i'm sold on the PCH series 👍 I was entertaining the thought of narrawing down from Epiphone or Yanaha but the Eastman is quite impressive

    I heard a man in a shop today say that someone he knows bought a $450 Eastman and soon after sold his Martin. I'd say he was impressed. I'm considering the wired up cut away in the series. It was truly awesome.

    ☑👍 have the PCH3 GAC version in both trans blk and sunburst maple 🍁
    And they are phenomenal awesome probably some of the most inexpensive yet great playing and sounding of the acoustic/electric guitats i have owned , not to mention eye popping is the only reason I own both finishes ‼️😊😝

    Are the back & sides multiple layers of sapele or is there a mystery wood iinvolved?

      They are multiple layers of Sapele. Same with their laminate Maple PCH models, they are also multiple layers of Maple!

    I play smaller guitars - OM to 00 - and wanted to add a dreadnought to my guitarsel. Went budget because I didn't know if I'd like playing the bigger size. Bought the Eastman PCH and very underwhelmed by the sound. None of my jam buddies were impressed. My first guitar was a Martin X-series which sounded so much better. Sorry - just one woman's opinion...

    Hi. Ive had my pch for a coupl of years but never plugged it in until the other day. I'm worked well but now doesnt. So a total noob question does this guitar need a battery like other electro acoustics iv had? If so, how the heck do i change the battery?! Thanks

    • @AcousticShoppe
      @AcousticShoppe  2 месяца назад

      No worries! They do take a 9v battery and it can be a little tedious to change honestly. The battery pack is right in front of the neck block (where the neck and body meet). To access, it's easiest to loosen the strings until you can put you hand in the soundhole then put the battery in the battery pack. It would probably be most convenient to do next time you change the strings and have them all off, but it's not necessary. Hope this helps!

    Are you sure they are not nitro finished? Also: it has a rosewood fretboard and bridge which was recently replaced bij ovankol. Ebony is only for the all solid models

    • @AcousticShoppe
      @AcousticShoppe  Год назад

      We are 100% sure that the finish isn't nitro, it's prohibited in many parts of the world, including China. Also you are right, John mistook the fretboard & bridge as well, they are rosewood/ovankol!

      Why is the PCH3-GACE is 100 bucks more expensive compared to the PCH2-GACE? Only because of its full gloss finish?

    • @AcousticShoppe
      @AcousticShoppe  8 месяцев назад

      @@xandrlsch That is not the only difference but is the biggest feature affecting the price. The PCH2 has a Rosewood back and sides while the PCH3 has Maple.

    === Sorry to the The Acoustic Shoppe. They all sound muffled compared to true solid wood construction, but I will say that it really doesn't matter to beginners guitarists since their ears have not been developed yet like fine wine. Haha. So $400 does not sound bad. ===
