Yoga for Diabetes | 10 Asanas to Control & Prevent High Blood Sugar Levels

- Type 2 Diabetes has become an increasingly common disease many people battle with. Sadly the risks of developing diabetes have increased manifold in our generation because of physically inactive, high-stress levels, being overweight, have had gestational diabetes during pregnancy or have PCOD. Certain yoga postures have shown to be quite helpful in managing blood sugar levels as well as reducing the chances of developing diabetes at a later age by keeping abdominal organs stimulated.
We will go through these asanas today. So once you are ready, lets hop on the mat ans get going!

Great ! To me it seemed to be very effective, not only for doing the Asans nicely, but also the chronological orders of them.
There was a time when I could do and was used to do all of all the Asans showed. I was not diabetic then. But, now after the long working life, I have become diabetic, as also can't do all of all the Asans properly and easily. Anyway, thank you very very much.

When one is starting, one might not be as flexible. Please share for each asana, how to progress to perfection as you. Like i m heavy and not as flexible, hard for me to lift to legs together and do sarvangasana or halasana

Hi, you r young n Flexible. Most of the Diabetic patients are above 50 n these asanas n stretches will be difficult as they r not Flexible so kindly demonstrate few easy asanas.

Hi, you should ideally practise yoga on an empty stomach or at least 4 hours after your last meal.

Smit James Hi, to get into Paschimotanasa you need to work on hamstring flexibility. You can try doing stretches in the this video which helps in working towards split. You will find these useful in working towards Paschimotanasana as well.

@@BhartiYoga Just to let You know - diabetics shouldnt eat biscuits. Biscuits are very bad for bloodsugar levels (and for health over all). Its because bloodsugar spikes fast and then drops fast. + biscuits are mostly made out of sugar which is one of the causes of developing diabeties itself. Coffe is problematic especially with milk because they both mess up our hormones. Best to eat some veggies
@@CherryBerryFashion Cookies, Biscuits, Tea and Coffee.. All of these like any other food & beverage is harmful if consumed more. Anything in moderation should be fine I guess.
