Some lenders, when the dealership calls them to finance a car, will
request the dealership to make a spare key & mail it to them. The
smart lenders do. THEN, all a repo man has to do is locate the car,
follow it around until it is parked to shop or eat or fuel or whatever
and the repo man just walks up, uses the key & drives away.

I haven't had a car payment since 1997. Once was enough. I promised I'd never do it again. I kept that promise! I just drive older cars and pay cash. I drove the same car from 1997-2018. 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis. I wish I hadn't sold it.

Lenders don't want to repo your car and it is last resort after getting 3 months behind on payments. The lenders reached out at least a hundred times over those 90 days to reach an agreement. They then have agents under contract that will repo for flat amounts depending on how much skip tracing and how far away the car turns up is. When you see those large flatbed towers cruising around parking lots, they are looking for a car.
Want to ride around in style but can't afford it, that man feeds his family by charging you double 😂
A friend of mine got the basic Lincoln SUV and I remember telling him he should have gotten a loaded Explorer. A few months later they got rear-ended and got rid of the Lincoln and surprise surprise they came back with an Explorer. I would have been more than happy with a basic Explorer but I guess what I'm trying to say is you can get a lot more things if you don't go solely on brands

I don't know why people don't just fess up and pay for the car or give it up...I got in a tight spot and couldn't pay and I shined the k car dodge aries up told em to come and get it and when I got back on my feet the same people sold me another car cause I guarantee you if people owe the debtors money they gonna be screaming for it. Do the right thing people, give the car's back waaaaay before they have to come get em and they'll hook you up when you can really afford something

My easiest Repossessions are done at Shopping Centers. The Debtors come out with cart full of Crap. But can't pay a Vehicle payment. One way to get back on your feet again, don't make your Payments.

instead of saying the $150 is for gas money it would seem more professional just to have a set fee for the tow and and another fee charged by the mile(or however you want to go about it) for pick up and drop off.

Bad getting repoed at the grocery store I had it to happen to me at my house,and I am glad it happened there instead.
Repo man Wayne Camaro is all professional at work. Places look like it's in the Deep South. Like Arkansas, or Mississippi or Alabama. Towing away a car happens when a customer is behind of more than two payments, most likely. This is the last step, if customers had consistently refused to answer calls from the finance company for a few weeks. No one likely received the telephone calls from finance company for the last few weeks on negotiating the next payment after they are behind in payments.
Not everyone gets behind on payments. Especially when you pay cash.
I have had a car repossessed. I don't get mad at the repo guy. It was the bank and dealership that screwed me. I still enjoy repo shows.

Yet another person who thinks by driving a heavily depreciated European luxury car they are impressing people they will never meet by driving a vehicle they think makes them look wealthy.

Gee I drive a late model BMW and a late model Audi, fully paid, and I shop at Dollar General. Why pay $5 for a greeting card when I can get one for $1 at DG?
And when it comes to a vehicle it is not depreciation, it is cash value. All vehicles, other than collectibles, lose value every year. As a percentage the loss for a BMW is not significantly different than many other brands. The difference is cost. A $40,000 vehicle losing 50 percent has lost $20,000. A $70,000 vehicle losing 50 percent has lost $35,000.
What dollar amount is a heavy loss depends on the person. Someone earning $40,000 might think a $35,000 loss is heavy but someone earning $200,000 might think a $40,000 loss is light.
