Heathers the Musical is my favorite musical!!! It has sooo many AMAZING songs in it! Defying Gravity is such a wonderful song! I would have gone with 'Satisfied' or 'Wait For It' or even 'History Has It's Eyes On You' over Burn from Hamilton.
“Don’t Rain on My Parade” I’ve never seen Funny Girl. However, I watched Glee faithfully (not so much once they went to New York), and Lea Michelle killed that song!!! I still listen to it from time to time… “My Man” also
25:47 "Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat" and "Luck Be A Lady Tonight" are my two favorite Guys And Dolls numbers to belt to😎. " The Wnner Takes It All", and "On My Own" bring me to tears every time. So does the reprise of "Memory" three other favorites to belt.
"The Winner Takes it All" was included in Seattle Men's Chorus' "Extr-ABBA-ganza". We had a complete lighted disco floor in front of the risers with flag twirlers in go-go booths on the corners, so the gestalt comes back to me every time I hear it sung.
You can’t stop the beat from hairspray mine from waitress suddenly Seymour no one is alone from into the woods six from six the musical and any song from dear Evan Hansen. We’ve pretty much sung it in choir so much fun. Mama Ima big girl too is such a bop always will be. I know these songs are not on the list but theyre a joy to sing especially to sing in the radio with a bunch of musical theater students. Those were the memories.
I've just started watching the video, but I'm stopping to make this prediction. There number one song will be... "And I am telling you I'm not going" -- Because it's always the top of these lists.
I love almost all of these songs!!! I haven't had the privilege of hearing most of them live, but I love the soundtracks. I also would've added "Heart of Stone", as sung by Jane Seymour, from SIX: the Musical as at least an honourable mention ;) I went twice to the American tour production in Toronto; one was a sing-along performance of the musical. So the audience actually IS invited to belt along; unforgettable. Ironically, Jessie Mueller (who's featured here as the original Broadway actress for Jenna in Waitress) is sisters with Abby Mueller (who originated Jane Seymour on the Broadway run of SIX). I imagine karaoke nights with the extended family are amazing lol
As a person who is currently playing Frank Jr in Catch Me. Goodbye is not a song you can just sing. It’s difficult to place and doesn’t let up range wise the whole song.
I love Chicago! The biggest surprise in that movie was John C. Reilly. I had no idea he could sing. Can't remember the name of the song, but the one that Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, did in the elephant in Moulin Rouge. And the "remake" of Roxanne from the same movie. I haven't seen Mama Mia because I hate ABBA.
How was Don’t Rain on My Parade not on this list? Must be because modern is not before 1980? Or what about Waving Through a Window? Nothing from Dear Evan Hanson is strange/
Do you hear the people sing and Finale from Les Miserable should be on here, along with Defying Gravity from Wicked, Gethsemane and Heaven on there minds from Jesus Christ Superstar, especially Don’t rain on my Parade from Funny Girl, I almost forgot Made of Stone from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
"I Am Telling You / I'm Not Going" has annoyed me from the first time I heard it. It's a WONDERFUL, beautiful song, and the performances do put it up there. But it makes me crazy that this is "the best man [I've] ever known," when he's been cheating the whole time, and the "pick me!" energy of "I'm not going" is so unhealthy, I can't even enjoy it. Clearly I have issues.

"I Know Where I've Been" is one of the most underrated "Hairspray" songs. Queen Latifah has a really powerful voice, it's the perfect torch song.
Fr!! When we did hairspray at my school the girl who played motormouth sung this song so incredibly everyone always cried lol
I know where I’ve been is one of my favorites
Heathers the Musical is my favorite musical!!! It has sooo many AMAZING songs in it!
Defying Gravity is such a wonderful song!
I would have gone with 'Satisfied' or 'Wait For It' or even 'History Has It's Eyes On You' over Burn from Hamilton.
"On my Own" always yanks on my heartstrings, and just makes me feel for Eponine, who knows that Marius will never love her. 💔
I hate that they cut some of the lyrics from the movie

Legally Blonde from legally blonde is one of my personal favourite songs to belt. It’s so sad but such a tune
I've just started watching the video, but I'm stopping to make this prediction. There number one song will be... "And I am telling you I'm not going" -- Because it's always the top of these lists.
Sutton Foster should be globally famous.
She’s how I fell in love with theatre
Journey to The Past and In My Dreams from Anastasia 💖
18:23 I love “Burn” & “Satisfied” from Hamilton
As much as I love ‘Burn’, I think ‘First Burn’ tops it.
"Let it Burn" from Paradise Square.I saw Joaquina Kalukango sing it on Broadway, I can still feel it!!🥰🤩
The fact that we still haven't/won't get a cast recording because of that damned producer Drabinsky...my rage will never be quelled
The Winner Takes it All is one of my fav songs of all time ❤❤
24:10 when she sang this on glee… literal chills

Any song from “Six the Musical”. Seriously - just pick one.

Agony is my favorite song from into the Woods 100%

I never see Chess on these lists! Anthem and Nobody’s Side come to mind for great belters.
As a person who is currently playing Frank Jr in Catch Me. Goodbye is not a song you can just sing. It’s difficult to place and doesn’t let up range wise the whole song.

I love heathers and mean girls the musical and Beatle juice musical
Anything from Six belongs on this list. Especially "No Way" or "Heart of Stone"
I can’t do it alone is my favorite to be honest 🤩
Seasons of love RENT
Who is the guy and what is the song in your intro when you mention “off-broadway”. His voice is incredible.
When you got it flaunt it- Producers.
I recommend defining “modern”
What about heart of Stone from SIX
“Colored Woman” from Memphis. Top five at least.
My man, Funny Girl is my belting song
LOVE that Aida was on the list, but Easy As Life or Dance of the Robe should've been chosen instead
Don't Rain on my Parade?
I love Hamilton and burn but I think it was too high up the list.
The entire score of Annie is just one big belt.
Santa Fe from Newsies?
How was Don’t Rain on My Parade not on this list? Must be because modern is not before 1980? Or what about Waving Through a Window? Nothing from Dear Evan Hanson is strange/
what about Prince of Egypt... and Hunchback of Notre Dame
Joshua Henry deserves nothing but the best!
heathers is my current hyperfixation but it’s not broadway tho
oh wait i didn’t watch the whole video it’s in thereeeee!
🗣 BELT
Greatest star or don’t rain on my parade from funny girl
Tick Tivk Boom's Sunday is definitely missing from this list. At list as an honorable mention.
If Tick tick Boom’s “Sunday” gets a nod then you’d have to incl “Sunday” from Sunday in the Park with George since that’s what it’s a riff on.
@@AshlynnBee I have no problem including both :)
Ok but why is Wait for me from hades town not on here? Or anything goes?
Also I forgot to add don't rain on my parade.
Where is "Don't Cry for Me Argentina"? That's my shower song.
Mmmm its a 50/50 for me i cant choose On My Own, and I Dreamed A Dream.
I'm Breaking Down, Falsettos
One Song Glory in RENT
16:17 the only “hypocrisy” in the “Mormon” church is people that aren’t living it in the way it’s truly meant.
You add Aaron Tveit and/or Lea Salonga to one of your videos and you'll have a like from me ❤
Shame there were no shows on Broadway before the 2000s that could have been in this list. 🙄 Ok. They found some from the 90's. 😏
Nothing here from SIX?
"Learn to be Lonely" 🎭
The Phantom of the Opera
No Dear Evan Hansen 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Um…..”I Am What I Am”?
Boys can belt too - not that you’d really know from this list
Love that one!
No more nightmarish Billy Porter bits.
