Geez... what a great video... it almost makes me want to do another marathon. I'm going to look into getting a coach.... I wish I felt as happy as you look running this marathon!
I sincerely mean it when I say thank you for that! I wasn't at all a runner in the first few decades of my life, but now I am hooked. I don't know what I'd do without it in my life. No matter what, always smile - running should always be fun!
Awesome video 💥getting me excited to get on the train next week and race Paris ‘2024 as well. Veering off from the majors as well because it is so hard to get into them if they don’t have qualifying times. Decided to find a spring race because I will never train in the summer again with the heat and humidity on the East coast. Paris checked all the boxes and being able to stay in my daughters in law’s apartment 10 min from the starting line is perfect. Question: why did you get up at 5 am? I am planning to sleep until 7:30 for a 9:10 coral time 😂. Glad you had a great experience 😊
I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this!! How did the race go for you?! And I totally agree, the majors are great and all - and I'd love to someday do them all - but there are plenty of amazing races out there that don't fall under the Abbott banner. And you are unbelievably lucky to have a place right there!! I love the question about the wake up call. My 'recommended time to get to the SAS' was 8:05am for the 8:32am start (3:15 corral). That said, I wanted to get some fluids in me as early as possible because my thimble-sized bladder will all-too-often need to be addressed before getting to the corral, so I had to plan waaaayyy ahead!
What a great video. I have just paid and entered for Paris 2024. I have done plenty of half marathons but my first full marathon. Couldn’t quite make out but what was the name of your hotel?
Thank you!! You're going to love it - it really should be a major! And the hotel was Le Metropolitan, it was immediately west of the Eiffel Tower, right at the Pl. de Mexico. Amazing location for the race! Good luck!
@@FootDocRuns thank you. Fingers crossed it goes well and I can try Berlin and New York next! Although a friend of mine has just done Helsinki which also looks great.
@@FootDocRuns Paris was amazing thank you. We stayed just off the Arc de Triomphe which is near the start/finish. Perfect conditions for the race which I completed in 3.46. I am trying for London next year, I will do Paris again though.
Hey! So sorry that I'm seeing this late! Yes, it was so easy to register. Unfortunately, it does look like the general entry options for 2024 are sold out on the Paris Marathon website, but there are charity options available! I assure you it is worth it no matter how you get in!!
this was a really helpful video, thanks for making it!
