It’s been almost 3 months since I last made a video with a 2000s aesthetic theme so I feel a bit at home after trying different concepts lately. Even if those videos didn’t really do that well, a lot of you stuck around which is super encouraging!
Sometimes I feel like it’s strange for me to do meta commentary about my channel all the time in the description. But I like to pretend it’s the DVD director’s cut bonus commentary. I think it might screw up my tags though. I don’t think that’s a big deal though, right? Whatever.
I have 0 desire to be known as the ‘y2k vlogger guy’. Frankly, while the nature of this website involves building off of the existing genres pioneered by other creators, RUclips is already derivative enough to warrant at least trying to do something new! Which I’ll strive to do but I’ll definitely be back to the 2000s nostalgia themes every once in a while 🧡

honestly, even if you don't stick to the "y2k vlogger guy" I'm sure most of us will still love your videos as your attention to detail, espcially in the visuals, is something that I really like ^_^
Am I appropriating myscene if I had no idea what is was until 2 weeks ago? My only experience with barbie media is the life in the dreamhouse web series (good writing)
I figured myscene doesn’t fit the older brother core vibe that’s trendy these days but their website is too visually dynamic for me to pass it over for an AOL theme or something more authentic hahaha

“Plastic retro-futurism” is a perfect description of the 2000s “aesthetic”. The funny things is the 2000s isn’t an aesthetic but a real life time. The mall is so aesthetically pleasing and nostalgic and beautiful.
beautiful is a bit of stretch to me since I was around when it was newly built but it definitely has a… distinct charm 🧡

As a person who lives in a same city as you and is loosing a sense of belonging to this city, I just want to say thank you these awesome vlogs, they reminded me of all the places that I visited as a kid. Especially this video cuz i used to go to this mall all the time, the nostalgia really peaked for me. the lego-esque architecture really reminds me of the library i go to sometimes, it has random rooms that are shiny and red everywhere (walls, ceiling, floor) and really long steep escalators with this shiny yellow stuff everywhere. the whole building is really cool and it’s still almost like what it looked like in the early-mid 2000s when it was built, anyways this vid made me think of it :)
