Saturday’s show pays tribute, honors, and celebrates the lives of those who selflessly ran towards danger to help. To honor the thousands of civilian souls who lost their lives. To celebrate the spirit, strength, and resiliency of our nation.
Our performance begins with Summon the Heroes, honoring the brave Americans who rushed to the scene when duty called. Next, we play Mambo (from West Side Story) and New York/Empire State of Mind, an evocation of the energy, life, compassion, love, and strength of the “city that never sleeps.“ We transition to Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story, which memorializes those who lost their lives while commemorating the unity and strength of the American people. Our performance concludes with a medley of This Land Is Your Land and Stars and Stripes Forever.

The fact that most of the sections are SO WELL acoustically balanced and the rhythms are so tight between percussion and winds ; remarkably in sync like one giant instrument / performer.

I too am a MMB alum and can see the amount of work and rehearsal that went into the show was phenomenal. But hey, it is MMB, the greatest band in the land!!!

As a person with no stake in either university but a huge marching band fan/drum corps fan in general, it's shows like these that make me wonder why bands like the Ohio State one are so overrated. This show is both visually and musically superior.
