I really enjoy your reactions ..some I watch are just over the top praising of our country and it seems fake and I feel embarrassed watching them Ty for just being real :) from Missouri USA ..
I’ve been watching Jurassic Park since I was three and every time I mention to my mom that I had a dream about dinosaurs she worries for a moment. Sometimes they’re tense but I love them! I’m also about to be 33 😂
I love what you guys do, I only discovered you recently, but already subbed. But I do wish the video on the bottom was larger. I usually have to zoom in to even see the video somewhat properly, which cutz half 6our faces out of frame. Just a suggestion from an American fan of yours.
So I am from Michigan (the team their boat shot down.)..UofM and OSU are rivals...so when a Michigander tells you that OSU has the best band its coming from a very genuine place.
And none of the reactors recognize (nor can be expected to recognize) the interpolated fanfare from Johan de Meij's "Lord of the Rings Symphony" (1988).
What's really amazing is that these are students. If they make the band, it is one of their classes. So along with all the work they put in to the band, they have other classes too
"You can tell they do this often, it's their PROFESSION". Nope, not their "Profession", they're just normal College Students with all their other regular studies/courses as well. But, I get what your thinking was when you said that.
I'm glad you did this reaction. I'm not from Ohio and never went to school there (I went to Wisconsin), but in my opinion, Ohio has the best University band.
I have to state the obvious... remember these band members not only have to play well, but remember every step of where they're supposed to be at the same time. I can't even imagine how that's done! Lol Thanks for the reaction! ❤
My brother was in the famous marching band for the University of Notre Dame thirty years ago. They practiced as much or nearly as much as the (American) football team, 5-6 days per week. The band even has its own football field to practice on, separate from the practice field for the football team. I don't remember how large the band was then, but it currently has about 380 members. Every year he would need to leave home for a week after Christmas to travel halfway or all the way across the country to where the "Bowl Game" was being played. It was an enormous commitment, without any financial compensation.
They are not professional band members. These are College students who play in the band. Some will probably go on to professional careers in the music or the entertainment world, but most will not.😊 You may want to also check out the Texas A&M band (The Aggies). They do very intricate marching, check out their "four way cross". It's also very impressive.
I've lived on 10th Ave. now for 12 years... I'm literally about 4000 feet away from the stadium. And please forgive me for saying this but I've always been a Browns fan because if you live in Columbus you are basically taught Ohio State. Every year I always find myself walking by them as they practice on the practice field I can't help but have a good feeling when I see the whole world appreciate our band.
@@joshuasharrock466 My adult sons and little grandchildren are also Browns fans....we migrated from Cleveland suburbs to C'bus :) You are right in the thick of it though....game days must be crazy!!!
It's Superman, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean You need to watch OSU Marching Band at Wembley in England!! Also, they do an awesome Disney Movie halftime show which is absolutely fabulous! PS: The T-Rex is eating a Michigan player - Our huge long time rival in the Big 10 - also that's why we sink their ship!
i was in band in high school... we only had a week to get things together as well for competitions and half time shows but it was worth the hard work and fun
I speant most of last year looking at the stadium from The James Cancer Center while my dad was in the ICU. Their medical school is top notch. I moved my primary care there after seeing how well they cared for dad.
This is why The Ohio State University Marching Band is known as "The Best Damn Band in the Land!" Ohio State University is only 10 minutes away from my apartment. Over 17,000 people can sit in the stands. The second one is "The Eye of Sauron" from The Lord of the Rings. Don't feel bad if you did not see that image. Many RUclipsrs think that looks like a purse or a handbag. LOL. You should react to the Ohio State University Marching Band Tribute to The British Invasion which the band performed at Wembley Stadium in London England during the NFL Demonstration Games.
Greetings from ⭕️-HI-⭕️! I’m glad you’re enjoying “The best damn band in the land”. I think you would really enjoy their performance of British rock ‘n’ roll at Wembley Stadium. Keep rock’n! 🤟🏻
There are scholarships given to many marching band members. I read Ohio State members practice 20-30 hours a week during the football season. There also is an event called a "Skull Session" at Ohio State that is held a couple hours before the game. It's held indoors at the 17,000 seat basketball areans. So marching is limited. This became a very hot ticket, and they've live streamed this for the past few years.
The Buckeye marching band's secret is a customized computer program that allows them to 'draw' their routines on the screen, which breaks down each band members distance and direction of steps for a routine. Each band member gets a tablet that teaches them those steps to be studied before and after practice preceding the game.
I wouldn't say that is their secret to success. Before the tablet it was a bunch of dots on a bunch of paper. The tablet makes it easier to learn and a lot less to carry around. That is like saying to secret to the success of a football team is the play being on a tablet. I would say their secret to success is practice and talent
These are all University students pursuing degrees and they do this on the side, so they cannot practice non-stop! Most of them were in marching band in highschool, so they have gotten good at learning the music and routines quickly. They perform at every home football game, and they don't repeat routines, so depending on the team's schedule, sometimes they have 2 or 3 weeks between performances, sometimes more or less. 🤠
London 2015 NFL pre-game show , It's one of their best and it's all about your Brits ! Except for the ending which is " Script Ohio " The most famous college tradition of the USA .

But doubtful).
Having lived in a dorm right next to the field the OSU band practices on (very early in the morning, btw), I can tell you that they work on these performances for much longer than just 1 week! Very meticulous practices. I could probably suit up and I've never played an instrument in my life.
University marching bands are highly competitive with each other. The black universities have some really great competitions that are fun to watch, a lot of showmanship in them with the Drum Majors.
TBDBITL … The Best Damn Band In The Land. The band director maps this out on an iPad and they perform at every home game. Many times that’s every week they have to learn a new routine.
I swam for Ohio State back in the 60s so this is such a treat to watch. If you haven't seen them do the Script Ohio yet it's pretty good. They only performed it for special games each season.
I think you guys would also enjoy watching the OSU pregame march into the stadium and the pregame welcome, etc. Quite a spectacle to see the band quick-step to the beat in perfect precision. Search for their November game against Michigan state. its about 18 MINUTES long.
If you have never seen a DCI (drum corp international) corps these are 16-21 year olds only.
