You forgot to mention French Canadian actress Juliette Gosselin who played Yeesha, Jennifer Podemski from Degrassi, played Anya, Kira Cavell from the live action Scooby-Doo TV movies, who played one of the Sisters of Serenia, and Australian singer Peter Gabriel who the Spirit Guide in MYST IV, and who also performed the song Curtains, and another of his songs in URU
My preference would have been for the traveler to don a belt that held the book used as the linking target and also held a linking book for the return. In this fashion the traveling between ages would only be done by those authorized and not by unknown wanderers that stumbled on linking books that were left behind. It also obviates the need to destroy linking books to prevent the traveler from being followed.
I've always really hated that it is probouced Dunny... What bothers me is that the emphasis tends to be on the first syllable. DUNny. I think it sounds so much better and still has the same sound if you move thr emphasis to the last syllable. It changes slighty to dun KNEE. A slight change, but feels so much better to me. Also, my first play of Myst was the PlayStation version.... That hurt so much. I got stuck on so many puzzles just because you couldn't read the text over a composite video on the low resolution of NTSC. By the time Riven came out, i finally had a PowerMac with a CDROM, so i was able to buy that on release.
haha I am so glad you made this series I absolutely adored watching all of your vids and loved all the effort and research you did on it. Super funny that you called it "dee-nye" instead of "Done-e"
So I'm a few years late to this, but as an 80's kid and a 90's teen I was lucky to experience MYST as I did. I ordered each book as they were available and read it "dee-nye" until I got the audiobooks like 20 years ago. When I found the first video in this series and heard it pronounced dee-nye I thought "oh good it wasn't just me" 😋
