A beautiful location which was to be developed like a mini Switzerland years back fell in the hands of corrupt politicians, hope the Govt of the day brings that glory!
It was a good project with potential but unfortunately the corrupt Sharad Pawar and his family had forced the developers to give them at least 20% stake in the project. Context: Sharad Pawar, is a powerful Indian politician who has made a lot of money due to corruption over the years and taking advantage of the fact that he had been chief minister a few times. He controls a ridiculous amount of wealth through proxies. (Trying to gather evidence might get you "disappeared") He had demanded compensation for allowing Lavasa to be constructed. When Lavasa Corporation was receiving necessary clearances from the government of Maharashtra, relatives of Pawar had part-ownership of the company developing the project. Pawar's daughter and son-in-law had more than 20% ownership between 2002 and 2004, and they later sold their stakes. A nephew of his was the chairman of Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation when it signed off on lease agreements for Lavasa and allowed Lavasa to store water and build dams
i Personally witnessed Lavasa Lake City during its growing days when infrastructure over here got started during my academic years at Pune. It was big hyped then and I used to travel here with my friends on weekends. Glad you visited here.
Lavasa city project was initiated by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) in 2006. The city was planned to cover 100 square kilometers and include five towns built on seven hills.Lavasa faced significant challenges, including allegations of environmental violations and land acquisition controversies. In 2010, the Indian Ministry of Environment and Forests ordered a halt to construction due to these issues.
Hey this is brilliant vlog showing the beauty of Lavasa hills and what a way to explore the hills on a scooty. how was the scooty ride on hills as you also must have enjoyed the ride. down slope ride on this trip, was the scooty engine turned off and ridden slow and silently or kept on only? thanks!
The ride was great! When I was riding I didn’t do that and I don’t remember at all if my partner did 😂 it was all fairly flat land not in the hills so wouldn’t have been doing that I guess.
Lake side nuildings which are empty should be convert to hotels and resorts ...All this constuction must not go to waste if not a city then holiday and vacation town
They love ghost cities way more compared to our chaotic cities...They are used to living in ghosts cities at their own country.... Over population is our biggest problem .
@@ankanroy5131 Population control is a very slow process - if it starts today, results will be seen in 2040. Bigger issue is migration from rural to urban... villages are getting smaller, cities are exploding.

Futuristic city has become historic place!😮💨
Well, nice vlog.👍
Yes, thanks you! ☺️
If the crowds of people reduce, most urban places in India will look just as pretty. Too many people and too many vehicles is our biggest issue.
Exactly ,yet our govt. will never take any strong step on population issues because of vote banks...🤦🤦
