A wonderful machine.
Performs amazing in extreme conditions.
The video was recorded at -18C after a 45cm (18 inch) snowstorm.
LOL, neighbors wondering how come they have 6' feet of snow
I liked how far mine would throw snow but not much else. The auger would jam from small branches from the trees plus gravel from the driveway. The operating cables would freeze up from snow melting and seeping into the cable housings.. I would let go of the controls and it kept going on its own.I had a unheated shed for it and sometimes I wouldn't even try to use it but went back to the snowfloat. During late January and into February it wasn't uncommon for -20 celsius temps.
Bought my st224 2 years ago and never even put gas into it because of no snow! Today I replaced the oil and put gas in it for the first time to prep for the snow storm happening right now. Runs good and I am excited to get out in the snow finally with it!
That was impressive.
That thing is an absolute beast. I have an Airens 7hp and it won't throw that far
WOW I did not hear the motor Bog down 1 Time pretty impressive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I got mine! 800 feet of private road, before I get to my driveway. This has been the best! Better than my plow, not having to sort out where to put the snow, just blow it into the woods!
1Alchemistic better than a plow if you dont know how to plow
2 years later... How's it holding up?
Husqvarna for my chainsaws, but Arians for my snowblower.
I cannot but agree, chainsaw one of the top ones , with St 224 engine is underpowered for wet snow, my Ariens Deluxe 24 wth 254 cc woks better in all snow conditions and is better built (all metal and cast iron gear box quality )......
I've got the same machine, they are impressive for the size. Light weight easy to handle. Throws fluffy snow 40 or 50 ft and does good with sticky snow too still throws it 30 plus ft
Full width for the 1st pass only , then 1/2 width for subsequent passes. Makes a clean sweep. Snow that falls will usually stay in the housing, snow that goes over the housing will get picked up on the following pass. Easier on the machine and the operator.
Is that an MTD manufactured machine with Husky branding? Sure looked like it worked well!
Yep that’s how a real snow blower is supposed to work 👍
Going on my 5th season with mine no real problems other then a adjustment here an there
Love my Pulon pro. 24. Its the same as this Husqvarna. It's a beast.
both from the same company
I have a blower just like your except mine has power steering! Awesome machine!!
WARNING!! The 224s have plastic mounted controls. They will break over and over..and costs $100 each time it breaks, if you replace it yourself..
The 227s and higher have steel mounted controls with a plastic cover over the steel, but the controls are not mounted to the plastic..
I liked your video. I’m in the market for a snow blower and I am considering this model.
JD TRS21 is the real beast. Premix bliss.
Thanks more snow than I can imagine
You probably would've been a lot happier with the Ariens Deluxe 24 in the long run.
Possible. But i am really happy with this one also. No issues for 5 years now and working perfect on ice and wet snow also. I prefer to believe that i did the perfect choice :)
@@grsolutions3607 I think when something works good for somebody, they made the right choice. ;) I hafta share a buddies story, tho. He is a super fan of their chainsaws, so he bought one of their branded blowers without looking into them. The problem is he lives in the woods where debris from trees is a common problem. He broke a couple gearboxes and realized it just wasn't the machine for him, so he sold it and bought an Ariens. However, Huskie has an optional deflector extender (you can see the holes for it in your deflector) and he liked that so much he had one custom made for his Ariens, lol.
WTH....it doesn't even bog a bit.! I would assume more moisture in the snow wouldn't be an issue either
Wet snow ... not a problem at all. Can handle even snow with ice on top. Here we have Frozen Rain three to four times during each winter.
Tip:
Clean you car off first then you won't have so much to shovel after snowblowing.
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
除雪お疲れ様です。機械があると早いですね。
Husqvarna Very good!!!
I have the at 227p similar to that I've blown drifts over 2 and a half feet
That was some pretty dry fluffy snow. How does it fair in the wet stuff?
Mine does great. had it 2 years and has never clogged up.
It Locked mine up.. Have to drain the fluids and reinstall and hope for the best
@@hunterdude3262
Had mine 4 years and Can’t throw snow more than 5 feet now. Makes strange noise. Nothing stuck nothing ran over. When it was new ran and threw snow 20 30 feet. No more.
@@gzmz1993 Had mine 4 years now still getting it out there 30 feet
Что уж поменьше лопату не взял?
Всегда есть варианты на выбор. Это зависит только от варианта, доступного для каждого человека.
@@grsolutions3607 золотые слова.
Sure looks like fun. The machine did a fine job. Was wondering why you didnt clear a wider path in front of the stairs. Grass there?
Yes. If you go to GR Solutions 360 channel you will see a picture in summer. :)
@@grsolutions3607 Gotcha
Why does it look like the lights flashing?
Because they are LED lights. The frequency of the led lights and the frame rate the video was recorded are not matching.
I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for the explanation.
zajebisty film
I have, maybe 10 hours on mine - on the 3rd auger belt, 2nd scraper bar, the height shoes on worn down and now the junk cable on the drive speed broke - don't recommend
Anyone know if this snow blower is good for climbing steep hills?
for hills nothing beets tracks, you can try tires with chains depending if you don’t mind scratching your driveway surface..
So many websites recommend these husqvarna machines but the reviews online are shit compared to Toro and Ariens. Which one to buy??
I have an Ariens 28 inch deluxe and its a beast, I would however go with the 30 inch for the additional power, budget depending. Husqs have a reliability issue according to CR, I went Ariens and don't regret it.
The problem is they farm out their snowblowers to a company called AYP. They aren't the worst machines, but you would have to know exactly the features you want and where the design weaknesses are to know which models will be less problematic than others. And I don't know how much of a premium you might pay for the Husqvarna name over other blowers built by AYP. I do know they did make a high end machine they targeted toward competing with Honda. They might have spent enough to make that a good machine, I dunno. I know they started experimenting with a cast impeller, something I've never seen on another blower. I'm curious to see how they'll hold up and what will happen when/if it fails.
Get toro or ariens stay away from husqvarna.
But if you want the best honda or yamaha is the way to go.
Honda is the best although somewhat pricey, had a Hv 330 T and the Honda HST1336 is in a league of it’s own, resale price is also an indicator of perceived quality 😊
@@andreh.dupuis8475 Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at 2 machines now both $1500. One is a showroom condition hs622 and the other is an ariens deluxe 24 that has never been run yet. Ariens is probably a 2020 or 2021. I'm not sure of the Honda but you could eat off the impeller housing it's that clean. Any suggestions?
HEEEeeeEeEeeeEeELLLL yeeeeaaah brother!

You celebrated your clean driveway by purchasing a new car?
:) That is my wife's car. I just switched the cars after cleaning. I put mine in the garage to worm it a little bit. :)
Why do people wait til the storm is done go out every 4 or 5 inches then a final clean up
Your point is good, but we got that snow overnight.
I feel so more masculine when clearing deep snow
@diver dave no better feeling!
Exactly! Why they do?...
Because it's a waste of gas? Just wait till it's over an be done with it.
Show us yours.
Who actually makes them? Why isn't your car in the garage, that's what they are for.
It's actually made by Husqvarna. I have one branded Poulan, but it says Husqvarna on the engine housing.
@@schwazman1 Husqvarna makes all poulan products
Everyone knows the garage is where you store all your extra junk. ;p
@@schwazman1 Where is Poulan?
1:01 Must be brand new. It won't be blowing snow like that by season's end. It may go 8 feet if you're lucky. The ST224s are garbage. I own one, so I know.
This year was the 4-th. For me working as new
Own one as well, complete shit.
Looked like it was the first time you ever used a snow blower.
Very interesting observation. You're a very nice human.
They are CRAP
Why?
They are great
Wrong. Just another Ariens fanboy.
@Jean-Michel Dupont The 224s have plastic mounted control levels.. They break very easily. The contol panel costs about 100 and takes a very skilled person about an hour to replace..
The 227 and higher have controls mounted to steel with a plastic cover over it, but the controls are not attached to the plastic..
@@jonbedker5229Thanks for the infos, I also assumed these were too flimsy for my use. I ended up buying a used Yanmar YSR9H with hydrostatic transmission. This thing is built like a tank ( 170kg ) and performs very well every time I need it!
Just bought this model for 2019 Michigan winter. Already had several storms including the polar vortex storm with -28 degree air temp and -40 wind chill ; LOVE the electric start !!! Absolutely NO problems with the 4 foot tall hard packed drift that was 24 feet long across my driveway and turn around. Best purchase ever !!!
@My name is Steve Rogers You are not any colder. I see the news.
It’s better to take half swipes after the first pass. Less spill over.
Phoenix?
Im in my 2nd season with mine. Seems to do the job. Got some crap jam caught in the blades sheared the bolts off. Fairly easy to replce
I'll be taking delivery of our new St 330 next month in good advance before the winter and I'm very excited to try it out for the first time. Thank you for the nice video, I could get a really good insight of how good Husqvarna really does work.
Ps. Greetings from Finland.
ever thought about donating all that snow or at least making a collection of igloos and snowman?
What would happen if you had an st124?
These are good machines. That’s proof enough.
Why all the hate. This man clearly shows that this blower is working great
It’s new that’s why
@@gzmz1993How would you know that unless you knew exactly when he bought it?
I wish he would have showed us to start it and where the gas go and the oil
Where the OIL go it is at 3:10 and the gas it is the round cover on the back and a little to the LEFT
Is it self peopled? Seems to float through it.
Yes it is. 6 gears front and a reverse.
That machine was made to handle tough winters.
Just got mine.. works great..
On sale $399.00..👍😉
It was a leftover at Lowe's
They already had switched to lawn equipment..😉
It had key switch replaced..
Said.."give it here please!!"
Nice paid 699 for mine...in fall of course.
Is this the st224P ? Or st224?
st224
is that a typical snowfall in the region?
happens 3 - 4 times every winter. Sometimes worse than this one. But around 10" it is a regular.
use 1 gear it will work better
Husqwarna ST224 has 6 gears forward and one R. *** That was No. 1 gear. ***
