    I would actually like to see different version walkthrough, because usually people show top spec models, which could be misleading. With Tavascan the gap between versions is significant and it would be beneficial to see those differences.

    big wheels are style over substance, e.g. 21" on Telsas make them ride less well and get lower range, also more expensive tyres and they wear quicker, assuming it's the same situation here even if I cared about how they look (which I don't) these factors would put me off, I think 19s are fine on SUVs

      @ameliaautomotive  8 месяцев назад +2

      Totally! I was thinking style with this. Definitely better to have smaller wheels if comfort is what you’re looking for. I personally did this on my old golf!

      Yup, it's the case for EVs. 18-19", if you know what you're doing. Given the choice, you'd never opt for 20-21" unless you're a daft poser. One or two inches extra does make all the difference...Ahem (that's "cough" in actual written English).

    Do you think VAG should move Tavascán production to Europe at a later date, given the possibility of the EU imposing higher tariffs on Chinese-built EVs?

    • @ameliaautomotive
      @ameliaautomotive  8 месяцев назад

      It’s an interesting thought! They’ve claimed to have improved car configuration experience with shorter delivery times. Would be interesting to understand how that would affect it!

      @@ameliaautomotive In case you didn’t know, in September 2023, the European Commission started to be concerned about the increasing wave of Chinese-built EVs in the EU market. They are currently investigating as to whether such cars have had unfair advantages by state subsidies making the prices artificially lower.

      Today it was announced that EU is issuing 17-31% extra tariffs for made in China cars from July onwards . So interesting to see if Tavascan was killed before it even started.

      @@jiikoo2000 I know the prices will rise quite a bit when it hits the market. Though I don’t know how much the Tavascán would cost if it were to be built in Germany or somewhere in Europe.

    I’ll stick with my full optioned top spec Born and wait for a VZ twin motor version before I upgrade. I like the smaller screen in from of the steering wheel. Looking at a centre iPad/laptop style screen centrally located is distracting and dangerous. The Taverscan is a beautiful car but I found it too big for my city driving needs.

    For that much money I would expect a rear wiper and better materials used for the interior.

    VW Group quality has declined significantly in the last 5 years , even Audi their premium car, has poor plastic and average spec as std.. they have dropped standards and increased prices significantly.. we are paying for the cost of diesel gate .. €31.b .i believe the claim of Chinese dumping low price cars in Europe is a red herring.. they are to protect high prices to ensure that VW can sustain volumes ..

    • @ameliaautomotive
      @ameliaautomotive  8 месяцев назад +2

      See Skoda quality I think has increased!! I just feel this is more performance with quality being a later thought. Agree with the price tag - cost is going up but quality isn’t!

    Seems out of date on delivery, probably because they started designing it so long ago. The tech is a little bit behind where everyone else seems to be. It's a shame because I'm quite enjoying other Cupra products like the Formentor 😢

    Interior screams cheap. They need to figure out a way to provide quality with a 50K car or lose their business to the chinese. I see no easy days for European car manufacturers.

    that screen is horrendous for driver and passenger unless the core market is people who are long-sighted

      It definitely is very large! Not to everyone’s taste. I personally prefer when a screen is built into the dashboard more.

      AWD is much cheaper than an Enyak RS here in Austria - therefore the better choice.

      Do you realise what the current legislation on EV %age is, each year, up to 2035? It increases each year, with massive penalties on manufacturers if they don't SELL enough EVs each year. You won't have an option soon, in a couple of years manufacturers will have to shift 50%+ of their output as EVs. After that, it won't be worth it for them to even make ICE cars any more, due to the penalties, or they'll have to increase the price of them massively. 2035 is irrelevant once you get past the 50% mark. You need to get ready, mate.
