  • Large Roman cities had main north-south boulevards called "Cardo"----the "heart" of the city ("cardiac"). In 135 CE, the Emperor Hadrian (who forbade the Jews to do anything Jewish, such as learn Torah) crushed the Jewish "Bar Kochba Revolt", changed the name of the country from "Judea" to "Palestina" (after the Philistines), kicked out all Jews from Jerusalem, rebuilt the city with a Cardo, and swore no Jew would ever enter Jerusalem again. Starting in 1969, Israeli archaeologists excavated part of it, which is 1 block from my home. These guys are singing "The nation of Israel lives" and "Serve God in joy, come before Him with rejoicing". If Hadrian saw this video, it would be called the Cardo because he would have a cardiac arrest.
