It shouldn't matter what brought you to this song, before SU or after SU, just enjoy the music and be respectful of others. :P
sadly people don't think that way. I like the guy because of SU, I like a lot of classical music because of Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes, SCRUBS introduced me to a lot of good bands that I might have not enjoyed otherwise.
Context means a great deal when it comes to music. If you hear a song while out partying with your best friend you might love that song because of it. If you hear a song just after the passing of a loved one you might find it depressing.
A lot of people might not have found Krol's music if not for SU and there's a chance that if they had found this song before SU they might not have enjoyed it.
As it stands this song is popular to many people because of a show that made them feel good and excited and happy and feel excited and happy for a character they were invested in.
I say that it does matter what brings a song to your attention but it shouldn't be something to argue about.
+Glenn Griffon nicely put. I think of the SU episode that featured this song when I hear it, and it was one of my favourite episodes, and I fell in love with the song from the moment it first played in the episode. So overall I get a whole lot of good vibes from this song, and I love it.

It’s currently 6pm and someone asked me what I would do if the world was going to end at midnight. This is the song I thought of :)
This song always makes me cry. To suggest that the Steven Universe fandom has halved is an understatement. Fanart and fanfiction are no longer being created, and previously popular creators in the community have moved on to other things (I wish them the best). Not to mention that Steven Universe is rather unpopular and disliked on the internet. I really hope our fandom experiences a reawakening, I miss Steven Universe and it's fandom so much.
you see what happened with gravity falls? when the new book came out the fandom practically rose from the dead (no pun intended). it's possible, like rebecca said she does wanna do more su stuff we just need to spread the word.
