I cant even begin to understand how it must be like to vibe with an angel like Melissa, like Ben M. can, she is exceptional in all aspects, espc. creativitiy and improv. And man, I can see how this can upset a good leader who is not used to it, because he cant cope with excellency. But seeing as she supports him all the way thru the dance ... incredible follower skillset! That follower skillset is so underrated by amateurs still, it is unbelievable and sad. Let me say it like this: there is nothing better on this planet than a follower that not just styles her dance, but loves to have a dialog. So engaging, so mesmerizing!
It's always such a delight to be surprised by a new Melissa Rutz dance that pops up on RUclips. At this champion level of world-class West Coast Swing, comments tend to focus on style for me. When it comes to WCS as a watchable performance artform, Melissa's art is just dense with surprises of rich, crafted style delivered with that indescribable flair of joyful ebullience. And Parker's skill is so well matched to bring it out. Parker is just so cool. To me he dances a smooth, commanding lead that has a unique style of restraint that I think of as understated elegance. I just love WCS delivered by the high technical skill of such artists. It's addictive--just try to watch this dance only once :-)
Hello Melissa Rutz, To me, throughout this dance there's a delicious delicacy that you two style so appropriately to this particular music. Among so much excellence, what grabs me most is the intricate precision in the timing of patterns and footwork sustaining an interpretive integration with the piano that is stunning. This is master craftsmanship. I can't wait to see what masterpiece you two come up with next. You guys have appreciative fans out here :-)
