I raised Arabians for40 years. It breaks my heart to see them abused like the Saddlebreds with heavy shoes, ginger in the anus, and whipping to make them hollow backed and ewe-necked so you can make ignorant people think that the horse is “beautiful.” You create “kissing spine” and hock lameness as well as unnecessary emotional stress which translates into stomach ulcers and/or chronic colic. In case you think I don’t know what I am talking about, I was trained as an equine vet tech in Horsemaster’s school. I rehabbed horses that were abused like this, if there was a chance that they could be saved.
