Absolutely beautiful. What a great campsite. The lake was beautiful. Yes I prefer taking my time too. Seeing the moose was amazing. Beam and cheese burrito sounds so good.

This was one of my favorite trips. Nice easy pace, breathtaking views, awesome wildlife... The only negative was the rough night of sleep from the strong winds & rain the first 2 nights...

The whole trip was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Well maybe a little sleep would have helped... 🤣🥱

Hey Andy! Grabbing a hitch on a road walk is a great way to start the day! Huge thanks to the angels. What a beautiful section of backcountry. You could really “hear the elevation” in your breath, but man those views make that lack of oxygen worth it! Dude! Dude! 😂 So crazy to have moose that close! People spend their entire lives here in Maine never seeing one and you saw three! Simply amazing! Let’s hope the moose scare away the bears! Are these sites first come first serve DCA or by reservation? What a great day! I can’t wait for day 2! 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well.

That area is pretty spectacular country I must say. At the trailhead you fill out a registration card and put it in the Box that's all that's required. And then all the sites are just dispersed Backcountry sites. Yeah seeing the Moose on night one was pretty amazing but it ends up only being about half the Moose I saw on the trip. Wait till I get to the clip of the Moose startling me while I'm walking out from Camp to do my morning Constitution a few days later. A little too close for comfort. This is also one of the highest elevation trips I've ever done with our camps above 11000+ ft every night we were there until the last. So you definitely noticed the thinner air...

Hey Andy…You mentioned an Ursack. I recently got one and I’ve only used it once. Really like the ease and tie off with a carabiner method I saw on YT. So easy, However, I don’t like the weight and bulk. I have the Mitey. You thoughts???

I have the Ursack Major XL. I also have the BearVault 450. I prefer the Ursack with an OPsak bag. So easy when you don't have a lot of option to hang a bag.... I still like my dyneema bear bag, but I haven't taken that on my trips out west.

Was it easy for your buddy to find good trees to hang their food? What would you recommend: Hang, Ursack, or canister?

Ursack would be my suggestion. Tress for a hang can sometimes be a challenge to find.

Beautiful area. That trailhead looked too crowded for my liking, but it happens sometimes.

The other trail at that lot was for the summit of the Mount of the Holy cross. A Colorado 14er. So it gets a lot of interest. Luckily almost No one took the loop we were on... Fall creek trail to Fancy Pass to Cross Creek. My guess is that they were almost all day hikers...
