Julie since I’ve started watching your videos you have inspired me so much with your amazing finds. I used to love decorating and crafting. Life changes stopped me from doing all the things I once enjoyed until you showed up on videos recommended by RUclips. I immediately got hooked and inspired again. That spark I missed so much was still there. I have found some amazing finds from my local thrift store and garage sales. And my imagination has run wild… i love it lol!! I have been decorating my heart out and enjoying the savings I have not paid full price in any a while. Thank you for inspiring me and others to feel and find the joy of decorating. 💜 from Texas
I never even went into a thrift store until I started watching your videos, Julie. Today, I scored a beautiful Laura Ashley quilt. Thrifting is addicting!
My “guy” (now husband) introduced them to me right after we started dating 20+ years ago, and I was hooked! Thrifting always makes me feel like I’m on a treasure hunt, and I can’t begin to count the amazing things I’ve discovered over the years! In fact, more than half of my furniture is thrifted! Whenever my hubby teases me about my addiction, I remind him that he’s the one who introduced me to my “drug” of choice!🥰
Julie, I love everything about your channel! Yes, show us the dishes! Anything that you are interested in would be great footage for your videos. That’s what brought us all here in the first place!
I will never get tired of looking at dishes. Especially vintage dishes. I've noticed how great Kara is looking. What did she do to get in such good shape?
That roaster, there will be more though I feel it was fate that the lady grabbed it. I never buy those huge space consuming contraptions now because eventually they end up in the “dead appliance cupboard.” Dishes, plates, mugs, mixing bowls, art, ornaments, and any other paraphernalia you find interesting interests me. I am the epitome of an old sticky beak so you look at as many dishes as you wish. That is why I watch your great videos. Those candle covers are used to sit on an old glass jar with a candle in it. Oh, and BTW I love your hair with the side braids, very flattering. Love to you all from Oz.
I love the recipe holder... So precious! I am happy with everything you do with your channel and enjoy seeing the dishes. Either way is fine with me. I do prefer the videos where the haul is throughout, showing how you style your finds, but I'm happy no matter what you do. I love your channel and you are one-of-a-kind. 🙂 Have a great weekend, Julie, and stay cool!! 🙂
I just love that vintage recipe holder! It would be really cool to write down your family's favorites (even if you have them memorized) to pass down. 🥰 That spring-loaded board you found is from an old game called Boobie Trap. It had plastic peg things inside, that you pulled out one at a time until the spring snapped 😳
Keep doing what you’re doing including looking at/showing dishes! You are so fun to thrift with. The chicken recipe holder was a fantastic find! Please show us how you open the rings to add recipes once you find out!
with a blank recipe card just try to make a cut from the edge of the card to the hole. Then push that splice through the metal ring holder. Should last awhile.
Hi Julie, I just started following you on RUclips for not to long actually. Maybe less than a month ago. Been binge watching your channel. I’m from Guam 🇬🇺. I will be relocating to Houston very soon. You have made me hopeful in replacing a majority of my stuff that I will unfortunately need to sell. Especially all my pampered Chef bakeware and tools. You seem to find such cute and useful items. Your thrift shopping kind of helps me see all the possibilities. I think your family is so blessed and fortunate to have you teach them how to make use of thrifted items to make your home a beautiful home!
That tray with the spring in the middle is a game. Don't remember the name, but in the middle you place some little squares that come with it. You take turns to remove them with out springing it, or all the pieces come flying out. Kind of a reverse jenga.
Hey Julie yes I know its do fun to take cute things and make it your own love it love it I love thrifting so much to and my family but we had to go threw and thin thin alot out and donate and well it was hard lol lol But I still have my special finds . I'm doing a whole new desighn and decorateing thining and cleaning out storage to. Love you and family you all have so much love I know my family is special and it should be your videos inspire me to re decorate and thin my house out Thank you for inspiring me love ya God Bless !!!
Julie, I used to have calendars at work that had the same type of holders as the recipe holder, and I had to compress the metal holders at the same time to remove them & pull the daily pages out…and it was TOUGH! I always needed help! As far as the cute white & silver cream pitcher & sugar bowl, you could always spray paint them! I LOVE watching your shopping trips & all the things you find! You have the most amazing Goodwills in your area; ours are horrible. They’re filthy, always completely disorganized, and extremely expensive. Thankfully we have some amazing church & charity affiliated thrift stores near us where I always seem to find a “treasure! Thank you for sharing your shopping trips, your hauls, and your great ideas for how to style your new items!💞
I made a trip to my baby sisters home in Missouri. She has opened up a little shop with antiques and thrifted finds. She had a wire wine rack sitting on the floor and in one of her booths she had some antique rolling pins. I told her your idea of displaying them with the wine rack and she did. Sent me a picture. So thank you!
To add recipe cards to your hanger, use a hole punch to cut a hole in the right place, then cut a straight line from your hole to the edge of your paper, one of like a keyhole, then just push it on the post. The place where you cut the straight lines will hold the card and keep it from from coming out.
Please keep showing the dishes. Sometimes I see things my mom and grandmom had. Also would you think about sharing your sweet tea and lemonade recipes? I buy store-bought and would love to make my own. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
*Julie, I like seeing the dishes and glassware...it's the 1st section I go to when thrifting❣️ Never see enough, LOL; ONE of my weaknesses. 💜💕🤍💙* *For the recipe holder; push the metal part through from the back; the prongs probably squeeze together like those calendar holders do. 💜 If that doesn't work, punch 2 holes in the cards with a hole puncher a little bit down from the top of your recipe card and the right distance apart for the pegs - you can buy and use regular lined 3 X 5 or 4 X 6 cards for your recipes. (What ever size fits your holder best.) Then, take a scissor and cut a slit in the top center of the hole 🕳. You should be able to tilt the slit in your punched holes to the side and slide your card onto both pegs and the slit will come back together closed so your card won't fall off the pegs unless you yank on the card too hard, LOL! 🤣* *So sorry you lost the roaster pan, Julie...hard lessons like these a person never forgets. 😔😭😖*
I enjoy seeing anything and everything in your videos.. We are so much alike with our style of decorating. The three tier hanging wire baskets....put old kitchen utinsels in the baskets and hang longer items from the side and bottom of the bottom basket. Then find a great place to hang the whole thing. All my friends loved to go through and see what all was in the baskets.
Just love your decorateing and your videos with your family . Julie you have the same ideals I have when I decorate my family and I thrift and hang out and have alot of fun flipping and decorateing our homes as well you are such a wonderful person your so thoughtful and kind love your videos keep thrifting and God bless
Julie, I love watching your videos, how you style everything and yes, I love when you look at the dishes. You really scored big with the the chicken recipe holder/cards.
If your index cards have punch holes that line up just cut down from the top to the hole. This will allow you to slide it onto the the ring. Easy to replace or add recipes. I hope I explained it clearly. Have a wonderful weekend 🌼
Julie it makes my saturday to have you to watch while having a slow start to morning. I loved that marble table that was at the begging you could not but it for me and ship to England for me xxxx
The index cards have half holes so you don’t have to take out the screws my grandmother gave me hers. The ones are bigger in the middle and they taper to the edges. It sort of reminds me of a dog bone.
Hi julie, you can make tiny slits w scissors on plane index cards., following one of the original ones for size, using a hole puncher for the holes, this way you can slip them in an out, like an ol sku rolodex. "Put it in your🛒" 🔆
